Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

I really respect the approach IGN is taking with their review. Help people make a buying decision up front if they are on the fence or looking for basic synopses, while acknowledging it will be incomplete until they give it the time it needs.

Have they said why it's a Wednesday launch and not the typical Tuesday launch?

Curious.

It was originally a Friday launch, then they moved it up a few days. It being tomorrow and not tonight is probably because Bungie was at PAX today, so they probably don't want to launch without all hands on deck.

A question for GMG folks: How good are they with launch day key distribution? I'm thinking of picking up the digital deluxe edition because of the discount but I also want to guarantee I'm there the very first hour. Should I eat the cost with the guarantee that I'll be game-ready once the servers open (sans server-side issues) ?

Destiny 1 & all expansions except for last year were rock solid. And they moved the launch date back to mid-week to give themselves less server load. Fingers crossed.

Edit: also, rolling midnight launch vs the previous global ones will help too.
I think it's been consistently smooth since the alpha never had any major issues!

I still don't understand *why* this is releasing on a Wednesday. What gives?
It was supposed to release on Friday, was moved up to be a more standard launch to ease the server load, which would have been Tuesday, but Labor Day, so Wednesday, and thus the story hath been told amen

But Labor Day is on a Monday and people can still buy digital games on holidays when stores are closed...

Tomorrow would've worked better for my schedule! I won't be able to play until Wednesday evening.

PSN's having a stroke and keeps charging me $0 for the game and failing to go through the whole transaction with this error:

I think this may be a sign that I just need to be patient and wait for the PC version.

You need to delete the card and use a different one. After awhile you can re-add it. It's a PSN bug that you might have to call customer service about. I had this problem with two cards and can't remember if I had to call or if it just worked itself out after deleting the cards and re-adding them months later.

Loved Destiny 1 but wasn't able to play as much as I would have liked. I'm planning on hitting D2 as hard as I can but still won't be able to keep up with most of the duders in this thread due to life/work/wife/child/sleep.

If anyone else out there is interested in taking things at a reduced pace, hit me up/add me.

Haha. I don't think they're concerned about sales. It's the difference between their employees working on a holiday to open and monitor launch issues 3 hours from now, or doing it on a regular work day.

In that case I don't know WHAT they were thinking. Bungie pls

Any one having issues with PSN pre orders today? Wife trying to jump in and it denied the card. I did it yesterday without any problems.

All the character import stuff was done automatically on Bungie's servers last month, right? I'm clearing out space on my PS4 and wanted to make sure it was safe to clear out D1.
