Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

No you can not unlock Destiny 2 by someone sending you a game invite

You will get the Timer showing when you can join

Rumors debunked, I tested it

Yeah asked someone on my friends list (Azolith, thanks again)

Would be really fucked up if you could though lol

Anyones Gamestops selling D2 early?

Trying to decide if I should buy it physical or digital. The only way I'd do physical would be that lol.

Can anyone confirm or detail how shaders now work?

Someone in the Review thread said that they thought the new system was awful but hasn't been back to expand, trying to avoid the reviews for fear of other spoilers.

Yeah, it was ZeoVGM who mentioned it. Would love some clarification as playing dress up was one of the things I loved about Destiny 1 :(

The only thing I'm seeing that bothers me is how shader work now.

That sounds truly terrible.

Just a guess but from what I heard each piece of armor and I believe weapons have their own shader slot and shaders are consumed upon usage.

Is the character creator still pedestrian?
Yes

Oh wow, didn't realise people with physical copies in the UK can play already. Maybe it'll be there when I get back from work but doubt it, probably coming tomorrow.

What's this about shaders?

From what I've seen, you have to have a shader for each piece of gear now rather than just one shader for your entire set. Maybe there's more to it than that but that's what I've gathered.

Yeh, in the beta everything had a shader slot. I just assumed you would be able to apply any shaders you had for each, with each shader being unlocked thereafter for use.

Whispers on the wind suggest the shader is destroyed on use, which considering they're on everything individually does sound poor if true.

I pray you're wrong, for the sake of my dress-up fun.

I decided to get this later. Just had no game budget, and as much as I was interested, I think it had to wait.

10 minutes later

preloading.

If we don't hear from you I'll call the emergency services and assume it turned out to be true. Consuming shaders and having to use them on every individual item would suck from the sound of it.
Yeah they’re consumables

Shaders:

-have their own gear slot
-can be consumed upon usage

I'm of two minds with this. Yes it means more customization, but that'd also mean I'd need 4 of the same shader to fully deck my character in that shade. I'd also need essentially hoard shaders so that I'm never without the option to switch between them at whim. If all confirmed, hopefully that means that shader drops are far more frequent (enemy drops, patrol chests)

Yeah they're consumables

Well, fuck.

I mean it could work but off the top of my head it's going to be annoying to use your best shaders on some gear and then get a new set a short while later. That or ending up with three of one shader so only 3/4 of your gear look the same.

Will wait to condemn but sounding like you have to pick and choose what armour you permanently use shaders on seems like a departure from what I liked about them in the first game. Hopefully the flexibility in customization makes up for it!

UGH P2W gameplay impacting microtransaction loot boxes... Really? They kept it clean with money only being for cosmetics in 1 right? It also seems gross and weird to have this going right from the start.

While I can't say I'm interested in stuff like that, I have to imagine that the game will give you avenues to get those kind of mods on your own without having to pay for them. I would hope so at least.

Yeah it sounds pretty stupid. Who didnt switch shaders all the time in D1?! Doing so will be a nightmare in D2 it sounds like.

Selling "Ability Cooldown Armour Mods"..

That's a sour taste in the mouth. Doesn't dent my enthusiasm for the game but I don't like where that's going and the speed it's going at.

from what I have read
you get one every time you level up past max level.

(think overwatch lootbox)
