Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Yes, I deleted D1 before D2 unlocked, all of my characters were available in D2 when I booted it up.
 
I just played for 2 hours - it's stupidly good.
Heading to sleep for a nap now as it's 2am. I shall awaken soon to continue!
 
So I played the first Destiny for like an hour or 2 but never got back onto it. Been thinking about going back to it for the main story before getting Destiny 2. Is it worth it or should I just watch a recap video or something? Also is it possible to solo?
 
I've played for two hours. I was really skeptical going in.

Quick fire thoughts:

- there's a story! I played solo. No regrets.
- the score is INCREDIBLE.
- it feels Haloesque.
- it looks incredible on PS4 Pro in 4K. I mean really, it's up there.

I'm really surprised anyhoo.
 
The introduction of Graul is bad-ass. Great opening mission, love the farm and the EDZ.

The music is A-tier.

The most satisfying gun right now is the garbo white auto-rifle you get from the farm. Fuck me that feels good.

Man, I don’t know what y’all are smoking. The graphics aren’t that great, and in fact, the textures and low poly rocks look really terrible in the opening missions. Also, it feels like D1 with QoL upgrades. The enemies are almost identical to D1. The level design is poor and it doesn’t flow at all. The first little part before you get to the farm feels really awkwardly edited.

I’m only level 7, so maybe it gets better, but I am not impressed so far.

Watch a recap...there's barely any story in most of D1.
 
I've been trying to pass the time by as fast as possible all damn day. An hour ago I remembered I haven't seen the new season of Game of Thrones...

Have 90 minutes? This was the featured video on This Week at Bungie and provides a really good recap of the story and lore as well as all the relevant plot points from the first game. Watch it and you should be all caught up for D2 before it unlocks (in the US anyway).

Ouff that's a pretty big disappointment, D1s worlds were very linear IMO so.. I know there is verticality and stuff, but I was hoping for some big wide open spaces

Really? I mean, I didn't feel the same, I would be pretty disappointed to compare this campaign to anything Bungie did with Halo.

Hilarious to see half of DGAF in D2, half of DGAF lying wait

If it doesn't show up tmrw (and I'm paying express shipping) then what is the point of a store that exclusively caters to folks like us? I never ever order anything from them but caved because of the LE. I should have just gone digital.
 
As a casually d1 player, I'm fucking pumped for this. Still don't expect to be in for the extended grind, likely will never see a raid through (again), will almost definitely hate PvP (the beta suuuucked), but can't imagine not getting at least a dozen (or a few dozen) hours of enjoyment playing the content available along with a light grinding. A good story should help immensely

It seems they want you to join their KFR loyalty program, which is free. That program uses a receipt verification process in place for doing it this way.

They probably thought "why not? let's just do it the way we've been doing it, and we won't have to deal with having special codes printed and put in the box?"

They had no idea about the volume I guess.

This isn't going well for them.
 
Welp. Couldnt help myaelf and went ahead and bought a digital copy. Got two and half hours to download 30+ gigs and that's if my internet doesnt get stopped before then.
 
I'm not buying anymore of the D2 Rockstar drinks, but I'm surprised how rarely I see them. Even the store where I first found them doesn't have them in stock anymore.
 
Ugh, finalized my GameStop receipt for my D2 Pro bundle, but have to wait til 10pm MST. Sucks. Plus I have to get up for work at 3:30am. So maybe transfer my old PS4 data then hit the sack.
 
Update is installed. All three character classes have been created to my liking.

Everything is set and ready for the second I get home tomorrow. For now, just dreams.

Hey, that's what I did! I've never played the first one before, so this will be all new for me.

Even more poorly planned considering it was a holiday weekend in America. The team probably came back in the office today, opened Outlook, and started crying.
