Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Should I wait until level 20 to decrypt exotic engrams or does it not matter?

it will decrypt at a higher light level than your current max, so... decrypt wheneer you want. the longer you wait, the higher the light level will be - but the longer it'll take you to get there since you don't immediately get higher LL gear. that's the tradeoff.

(given that you'relikely going to get more engrams along the way, i'd recommend just decrypting it whenever you get it, no point to already hoard things really, since you're REALLY far from cap)

Waited up for midnight and got half the intro mission done before both Xlive and the Bungie servers died.
Half my progress was lost so I gave up and went to bed.

You play 8 hours straight and all you do is moan. Havent you got better things to do with your life than play a game you dislike? Damn, get a grip on yourself, accept you dont like it, sell it, and do something you enjoy. What a waste.

i don't like Destiny ??? to me, Destiny is one of the greatest games ever made and a masterpiece

i just don't like the story missions, what i loved about Destiny is the End game content

my impressions of my 8 hours of play is about the story\side missions of Destiny 2, i know a lot of people were disappointed in the story missions of Destiny 1 and hoped that Destiny 2 story missions reaches Halo's level, i just said my impression about the story missions NOT the End game content which includes Raids, Nightfalls and more

i just don't understand the hate i always get everytime i post my opinion on something, are we not allowed to post an opinion on NeoGaf ?

I'm looking forward to playing tomorrow.

I'm excited to hear there is a lot of story and side stuff to do this time around. It gets old grinding strikes repeatedly. I played so much of the first game but I always hoped the next dlc would have more story, exploration, and missions. It was kinda disappointing to finish the story content so quickly.

Idk, I've just never understood the people that rush through to the end while ignoring the all the side content because its "too repetitive" complaining there's not more end game to grind over and over.

The Raids and the Strikes in the first game were really good but many were just reused with new versions of the enemies. I'm glad they gave us more than that to start. I have no doubt there will be plenty of them added in the future. Hopefully with less recycled maps and new content.

That second mission is really powerful. Being completely neutered as a Guardian, seeing how broken everything is, and the music...

I play on a 1080p display with a PS4 Pro. Am I supposed to get any sort of IQ enhancements? I feel like there's still a lot of jaggies and shimmering everywhere. Doesn't look anywhere as clean as playing the PC version at 1080p with bells and whistles enabled... I knew 60fps wouldn't be a thing, but this IQ feels a bit muddy.

You can but it can't be negative and about Destiny.

Haha, holy crap the hunter is fun once you unlock the melee powers. Dodge fully charges melee and Melee fully charges dodge AND you get a health regeneration boost. I feel like a ninja.

Uhm... what does that even mean?

It means completely stripping away all my powers in service to this story was a bad game design decision. Particularly as I'm grinding to get those powers back and knowing that those classes are more or less permanently nerfed from what they were in Destiny 1.

I'm already confused with the story. After the intro area, was there a large time gap? And what vision are they saying I had about that shard? I must have missed a cutscene or something

Anyone having issues redeeming the expansion pass (PS4)?

Just getting "An error has occurred."

This thread is unbearable... I wasn't interested in Destiny 2 a few months ago and now I'm hyped and wanna join.

Just waiting for a good offer somewhere in europe... full price is a bit too much.

I haven't followed D2 much, which is a little surprising after spending huge amounts of time on the first one.

Now I know I have a "wrong opinion", but I preferred the somber tone and world building of vanilla to what kind of story content the expansions offered. Just my personal preference and I know a lot of people loved the tone shift, but in the end I have to say I generally enjoyed vanilla D1 more than its expansions.

This brings me to the question: how is the tone of Destiny 2? Is it like The Taken King, or is it the Dark Souls of vanilla Destinies?

It's a mixture of both. Sure there are punz, but when it's serious - it's serious. Especially at the beginning.

It's also damn epic.

Production value is top notch and the missions locations have had great variety. Main complaint is what i feared. Dialogue is still Saturday morning cartoon drivel and the story seems very hollyleywood generic.

Done for the night. I'm absolutely loving this. The Adventures so far do feel like missions from D1 but with much better contextualization. Crucible felt good. Getting loot feels good.

Minor detail but the engine doesnt support small object physics, like shooting a can does nothing. Many lesser games have these small details that make the game world feel a bit less static.
