Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Is it worth importing your character from the first game? I kinda want to redesign my character, but do you even get the option if you import?

I played the game for over 17 hours today and can safely without a shadow of a doubt in my mind say that this game is everything I ever wanted. As a Destiny fan, I could not have a brighter outlook towards the future. Kudos, Bungie. Side note: I hit 243 Power and incredibly well versed in the game so go ahead and ask me questions if you feel like it.

Now that the actual game is out, could someone answer these questions?

  • How much room do you have for items this time? Hopefully it's not as limited as D1?
  • Have there been any improvement in how you can communicate with people you meet in the world or social space? Or are you still limited to the most basic of emote and crouch spamming?
  • What is the vehicle situation like? I've only seen people use the same vehicles as in Destiny 1, but the trailers have shown glimpses of things like tanks, are they actually player drivable, and how rare is that?
  • What are the other strike bosses like compared to the inverted spire one? More complex, or about the same?

- Same
- Mostly the same
- Mission spoiler
There's a mission where you will be able to drive a tank. Otherwise, I've only seen regular pikes, no tanks in patrol yet.
- Strikes becomes available once you hit level 20, so I think you will have to wait for impressions.

Okay, that sounds pretty dissapointing overall...

Production value is top notch and the missions locations have had great variety. Main complaint is what i feared. Dialogue is still Saturday morning cartoon drivel and the story seems very hollyleywood generic.
How much of the lore around Destiny have you read? Just asking as I feel the opposite about the story so far (granted I'm only an hour and a half in) but have the context of a lot of additional story knowledge that probably helps. That and I just really love the universe they created so I likely have a few blind spots.

So I couldn't resist. I got a couple missions in. Really enjoying the game. The quality is a huge step up from Destiny. Really can't wait to see where the story goes.

Honestly this might be the best soundtrack ever crafted
Certainly the first time I've straight up just gone online and bought a soundtrack to something after hearing the music for an hour or so. Was amazed at the start and opening section, then when I got to
the farm
I was like "lol ok I need this for work tomorrow". Going to be a long wait to having Friday off for sure.

For someone who was very excited for D1 SP and got the PS4 bundle for it, but then after playing it, was highly disappointed by D1 because of it being a grind fest, repetitive missions, incoherent and disconnected SP story, repetitive locations etc etc, will I like the campaign of D2? Does it have more variety and varied locations/missions, good story campaign? I mainly play SP, so wanted to get some opinions before I spend any money on this. Or is this more of the same with extra visual polish?

So a couple of guardians who I believe were player characters popped up in my first mission. Is that scripted to happen, or does the game matchmake in the background during story missions?

Wow adventures are awesome! Instead of generic patrols we get stuff with dialog and different objectives. The “frame” adventure was awesome!

They nailed it!

Really liking what I played so far. Destiny is like comfort food. Emprovements are welcome but not too much change.

And my hunter got a great ass :)

You get matched with random players during that mission specifically, happened in the beta too. Not sure if it's used again later in the game.

The campaign is amazing, light years beyond D1. I've felt so many strong feelings and I'm only 2 hours in. I've had goosebumps and I've teared up.

This is amazing. I love it.

It's a vastly better campaign than DS 1 so far.

Logging out after 4 hours at level 7, I'm basically in love with all of the refinements Bungie has made. Cant wait to dig into the campaign with my fireteam tomorrow.

Kudos, guys.

I didn't preorder the game digitally on the PS4. If I bought the Digital Deluxe version right now, would I miss out on anything?

It looks like they tried and make character models more stylized. This new stylized art direction works great on the environments, but looks like absolute dog shit on character avatars.
