Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Goth and Broman completed it in ~8.5 hours without doing side stuff more than mandatory. They both ran solo and ended up around same 8-9h window for campaign.

Not too bad then, combine that with the side missions and the events + other things lying around it should have a decent amount of content

Did anyone else get a good chuckle at the very beginning out of the
worker bot in perfect condition cleaning while everything else is destroyed around it?

Anyone that has been working with the Bungie site over the past few weeks has seen that guy 100 times now, lol.

BTW, the formatting/coding Bungie decided to use for their website is terrible. I still can't view the whole screen, or scroll down a clan list, or anything without a hassle!

I only got about 4 hours sleep and signed up to do charity work for my company outside all day. Good cause, but damn, I'm gonna be a zombie!

PS Japan is always awesome...

is it already posted?

LMAO amazing find! Oh God I cant stop laughing at this. When the Striker smashes down and starts dancing. That's pure gold

Saw it in the beta but it made me stop again haha

To me the game is just OKAY. Even with the improved story everything just feels hollow. There's no weight to any encounter I've played thus far, and the combat feels very mindless and dated. Little variation between encounters. Carrot on stick mechanics etc etc. Like a lengthy session on a slot machine, or riding the worlds longest, and slowest, zip line. I'll keep on, for now.

This is... so good. Been at it since servers went live on the east coast, doing a LAN party set up with a friend and it's just been a blast to give the game a nice deep dive. The gameplay loop for patrols is so much improved. Between the chests, lost sectors, adventures and the public events its so easy to just get lost for awhile without making any story progress, which is something you couldn't really say about Destiny 1 on launch so good show Bungie.

Soo tired, played all night snd now i cant sleep.

Game is awesome, everything I wanted from D1 and more

Well done Bungie

Really hope this level of quality continues throughout the game (and from one of the reviews in the review thread, apparently it does)
Preach. I'm avoiding reviews until I've done the campaign for fear of story or location spoilers, so it's good to hear that they're positive in the ongoing polish. I just can't imagine what the raid will be like, visually and sonically.

i actually quite enjoyed PVP there...i'm surprised. might dip my toes in a bit more on PC. i was quite accurate with the hand cannon so i imagine with a kb/m it'll be better.

can't wait to get back into this. got stuff to do. might get another hour or two in today.

Played through the beginning with my D1 character but ended up not liking how she looked in D2. Made a new character and got to do a few things in EDZ.

Man this game is fun.

Yeah I sent GoaThief the link from the community post and he was having no luck. Maybe i'll push him in the direction of Hawkian or John.

Thanks guys!
the link will always expire every so often, but John is certainly asleeping. I can send him a one off invite and then I need to sleep

I tiptoed in the thread last night, but there was one review (possibly from Polygon) saying that the biggest strength of the game is the level of polish oozing from every aspect of the game.

Sucks that you feel that way man, did you play the first one? Just wondering as to me the gunplay in Destiny was among the best of an FPS I've played and D2 is looking to top that. The boost in the sound department really compounds that feeling.

That's awesome to know. Thanks.

2nd pvp match
got an exotic helmet engram. Pity it works better with ark subclass
Level 7. Just joining events near Devlin. So good. Time to sleep now. After tonight i have 14 days off. Grind time baby.

Tried entering my expansion pass code again, still getting an error (PS4).

ANYONE else?

So I know officially it's been out for a short time but I'm curious. I played a lot of D1 off and on since it came out and the interest in D2 is fairly similar. I enjoyed D1 for the most part minus the repetitive grinding that did get a bit better throughout the games life cycle. I know that part is still s big hard to determine how it is but is D2 worth it so far? Apparently my friend is drooling over the story he just finished but he's a Destiny lord nut

I did, and I really enjoyed it. I've been playing FPSs for so long that with D2 and other games it just feels like I've been there, done that. I think I'm just getting old. Glad to see you all still have the fire in your hearts though :)

Really happy with the little I played.
And really impressed with how well everything was lag-free, since it was the launch day, at least on my side.
For a guy like me that works with IT and loves to study cases of high availability systems, these guys at bungie are top on my list. Do they have any presentation about their cloud infrastructure for Destiny?

Edit: Will the soundtrack be on Spotify?

Not going to be able to start this until tonight, but for those that have already...at want point can you start coop? Do you have to do the opening mission solo before coop unlocks? Thanks... (found an answer online..you have to unlock the spark mission before you can coop)

Yup. There's 2 missions, that are quite short. Then you're ready for COOP.

Hmm in the director when we see a "person icon" on a planet that means we have friends there, right?

If I remember correctly, Destiny 1 did something similar but it would show which activity a friend was in. Destiny 2 doesn't seem to do this.. unless I am missing it?

Real talk: Hunters, what are the cloaks like so far?

That's fair enough, I still enjoy the loot treadmill and really love the lore and universe that Destiny is set in and around so I'm likely more forgiving on things than the average player too. I hope something picks up for you in it at some point, and if not thanks for the well wishes and perhaps catch you in another OT :)
