Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

The campaign and getting to level 20 is quick and easy. I just meant that i am not running through the story missions quickly just to get to the end. Im exploring, doing patrols, pub events...Etc

By rushing I mean not trying to max power level to 250+ like some already have.

Ah i got ya. Well, that's good that there is actually a lot of other "stuff" to do now in D2 that (i hear) is really enjoyable in the open world.

Seriously, all Bungie needs to do is announce cross saves for PS4/PC and I'll buy this game right god damn meow.

DO IT BUNGO.

I'm so tempted to grab it and dive in with my old PS4 friends this weekend...but I have it on PC already. Fuuuuuuuuuck.

I'm going to end up doing it.

So guys, is it more of the same and eventually boils down to replaying the same missions a million times over or is there quite enough variety this time? Are the story missions and locations fun to explore?

And what do the missions consist of? Actually fun stuff?

I'm in a similar situation. Cross-save would be suuccch a lifesaver. BUT I NEED TO STAY STRONG DAMMIT.

If you have the disposable income, there are worse things you could do than buy an excellent game twice. It's great, come join the fun.

So I'm level 20, Power Level 196... Only in 4th Mission

I was Patrolling and Farming way too much

I need 7 more upgrade points and I get all my subs maxed on Warlock, done on one class lol

It's not like anyone actually played the game to level them anyway...they'd just use motes of light.

Before motes were used for leveling gear we had to complete missions/bounties over and over again to get gear xp. Ill never miss that again haha.

For sure, I spent a lot of time in Destiny trying to have the latest and greatest gear as quickly as possible, but this time around I'm enjoying the scenary a bit more :)

This was my predicament as well, preordered for pc and caved and also bought ps4 version to play early and have fun with some friends who arent making the move to PC.

Actual fun stuff. No more ghost scanning while you fend off waves of enemies, which was, essentially, all of D1's story missions.

It really is dramatically different than the original. It has story beats, characters, emotion, tons of hidden secrets to discover... and I'm only on the third mission.

Story missions don't really feel fun when playing them a second time, better spend your time on Patrol or Strikes to be honest.

Hah I thought I could resist. I was weak :( still getting on pc too.

I'm very impressed with EDZ. Lots of stuff to do. Are the other zones as big, with the same amount of patrol content? Not talking about campaign stuff.

My one real complaint is that it still has the out of bounds TURN BACK bullshit. I want to explore, if I get stuck or die, who gives a damn, let me play. If you don't want me to go there, then don't leave an open gate. Yes, I'm looking at you, Farm.

I wonder what the limitations are for that. For instance, even after setting up my account with Capcom Fighters Network, it's only tied to my PSN. I can't use that same account on PC, even though the whole purpose for that was for cross play.

Up to light level 234, going to give the Nightfall a shot tomorrow, thanks to them appearing on the map, public events are pretty damn good for farming.

Agreed! They are like improved patrols from Destiny 1... that I actually want to do.

Too bad they are one and done though.

I haven't actually re-done them yet, but it seems they pop back up in place of bounties. I remember seeing some from an NPC, can't remember which, 2 were available, another couple said they were already on the map.

- Fast traveling

- Sectors + adventures

- Public event timer in-game

- Public events with
actual boss mechanics like teleporting you into the sky

Patrol is fun this time around and it feels goooooood

A buddy and I are way psyched to start playing tonight! Quick question: we want to co-op the campaign together. If he joins my party and I launch the campaign mission, granted he's completed up to the same number of missions I have, does he get story mission progression credit just like I do?

Do they randomly appear or are they in set locations that you just have to find? I didn't notice when I was playing last night.

only got to play the opener last night before going to bed but.....my thoughts alone in the first 30 minutes

This was the very first time, I ever said.....holy shit do i feel weak after getting punted to the destroyed city. The music, sites....holy shit at those fucking skyboxes......absolutely ace tier.....nothing beats bungie in that department. Everything was fucking spot on.....hell the cut scenes were good too! Absolutely loved trreading through as a broken guardian and having to quickly hide underneath the spot light.......even though other games have done it. When you go from a total monster to absolute shit, I was like hurry up guardian you going to get spotted!!!!!

Having just played through Destiny 1's story this weekend I only remember 3 maybe 4 times when you do this.

But still this game's story is miles ahead of D1 in every respect

Was expecting the game today, just noticed Amazon moved my ship date to September 14...

Last time I use their e3 preorder deal (Canada)

I'm so relieved to hear that getting out there and patrolling seems to actually be worthwhile and interesting now. That seems like a major step in the right direction so looking forward to trying those out. Do all the patrol based activities open up as soon as you unlock a planet? And they just show up on the director now?

Not everything shows in the map right away. It opens up as you progress and compete different activities.

They do show up in the director, and at first I saw only one but soon after exploring they were popping up too fast to do them all

Well i jumped in the hypetrain and bought it 20 minuten ago. Neve played the first. Is it best tot finish the campaign and turn jump to multiplayer?

What's the best thing to do with old gear? Dismantle?

I'm afraid of dismantling those broken weapons we get.....and then getting a fricken upgrade quest later alah rise of iron.....where the very first weapon gave you an easy go at getting its exotic form.

I was a little disappointed when I did a story mission to clear wizards off the center platform on Titan and then started an adventure that was basically the same thing just with different wizards.

Everything blue, green and white are useless, just dismantle them. Keep legendary and exotic items that you find interesting, as you will be able to infuse them to make them stronger.

It's not a game with traditional separate singleplayer and multiplayer modes, everything is tied together and persistent.
