Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Lmao Grave dropping that line right before I leave your fireteam. I had my tv blasted loud so my gf and dog looked at the TV like "who just said that?"

Also thanks for showing me the run. I think the game was glitching with the chest.

what is best to buy with glimmer? I reached the cap, but don't know what to spend it on. Only been buying mods is there anything else?

Cayde sells treasure maps to his chests which can drop exotic engrams but I wouldn't loot them until you are at least 260 (265?) light.

The light grind seems a bit more brutal than D1 in that the bump in blue gear drops seems much narrower. I started today morning at 208 light, and after ~3 hours of doing adventures and public events I'm only at 213. Gonna spend a few hours tonight doing PVP and heroic strikes and see if its any better. I kinda liked blue and purple engrams dropping at set light levels instead of +gooder, while I can understand why they did it, it just feels super grindy.

Maybe this has been answered before, but has anyone been able to get the pop-tarts texting process to work? Was hoping for the xp boost when I login tonight.

Yeah, it's a trend in shooters these days that I don't like at all. Overwatch comes to mind. I'm sure the devs do it this way so that scrubs feel better about themselves. I mean, when assists count as kills, literally everyone can go positive. It's bullshit and frankly turning me off way more than it should.
Yeah that's how I was in the beta but I think I got used to it now.

It just sucks that we can't pull up our score mid match. I like to know how I'm actually doing. They're doing soo much to make ppl feel like they're doing something

It took 4 and a half days for them to send me my codes, but I finally got them in today. They're just swamped still it seems.

finially got my first exotic drop from a mob, and it's quite decent:

Holding reload allows you to change the energy type, pretty useful.

Legendaries from factions only go to 265 anyways apparently

And they're infusable and, frankly, the Rare gear is super milquetoast. AND there are so many ways to get legendaries now I really don't see the benefit of cashing in like 40 engrams when you hit 265 when you could have been enjoying sweet legendaries out on this world that whole time.

You can turn the tokens in whenever, but you can't actually get any engrams from the faction vendors until you hit level 20. So really it's up to you when you want to turn in the tokens but just know you have to wait until 20 to get anything from it.

Destiny noob follow-up question: Is there only one rep "level", so to speak? Like, in WoW terms, you fill a bar multiple times, "leveling" your rep with said faction. Do you just fill up the one bar for each faction in Destiny?

I did a few adventure quests in the EDZ and turned all the coins I got into the guy in the church, and hit the point you're talking about (purple engram at level 20). Am I done gaining reputation with this person?

I think the whole "Edging your rep from 260 to 265 by not cashing in is only worth it if you are planning to go for a raid worlds first.

Otherwise, just play have fun and level up.

Any good summaries of what to do to maximize your time/fun factor post level 20 and main quest?

I'm 213 light.

Do Lost Sectors and Public Events, and then cash in the tokens. I know, I know- it's technically more efficient to wait until 260 to cash them in. But you get Purples right away doing that, thus leveling quicker.

Rare gear is kinda shit so the faster you're rocking Purps the more fun you'll have.

Also, make sure you're keeping up with your milestones.

That doesn't sound right. I jumped from like 170 to 218 in about 3 hours doing story missions, public events, lost sectors, an adventure or two, and the challenges.

Nope! You can just keep turning in tokens with the factions over and over again to get more engrams. The bar will reset each time.

Oh right, yeah the Raid Race is certainly a thing to consider.

I was just shocked to see the Nightfall Level:
240

That seems super doable with just casual engagement with the game.

awesome thanks. Yah I'm currently 246LL. I'll probably invest on those.

My wife has informed me that it has been delivered.

This is not going to make the next hour and a half of work go any faster, but hey. It's arrived. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Better have her start the day one patch download or you're going to be waiting even longer.

Same. Light raising does not seem that challenging up to the cap at all. There's so much stuff.

I just arrived on Io and man, it's gorgeous. I keep stopping to take in the surroundings. It's my favourite environment so far in spite of its barrenness.

I think that's an asset to that world, honestly. It stands nicely in contrast to the lush/fucking weird as shit/twin peaks forest worlds we were on before that.

They must have tweaked the way the crucible kills work. I sucked in D1, but in the D2 beta I was crushing it, like 3-4 efficiency. Now I'm struggling to get a 1.0 efficiency. They must have tweaked it to be a bit more closer to D1.

Or I just miss my Sweet Business gun which I was dominating with in the beta.

Are there any guides for some of the systems in play, I only played Destiny 1 for a little while (3 years ago too).

So I've just reached lvl 20 (still have last planet to do as part of campaign) and I have heaps of legendary stuff. What's this about boosting weapons and armor by infusing? How does that work and should I be doing that? Don't really understand light level and that either? Any basic guides?

The
skeletal remains and distant ruins
create more intrigue than the other environments as well. The moment when you first arrive and witness
Ghaul's ships enter the atmosphere with the Traveller's light/energy
blew me away.

It's kinda annoying that we can't put markers on the map or that lost sectors etc that you've already completed don't show as completed on the map

So what do you guys think of Kinetic/Energy/Power vs. Primary/Secondary/Heavy?

Personally I don't like it. It's limiting half of the gun types to a single slot. I feel like it's a kneejerk reaction because they couldn't find a way to nerf shotguns in PVP.

The lost sectors that you haven't looted yet are bold and the ones you have looted are greyed out. I believe this resets either daily or when you leave the planet.

Once you complete a lost sector once the icon actually fades to show you've done it, but it remains visible because they are repeatable.

I agree about the markers.

Told myself I wouldn't buy this after how much vanilla stung me but honestly, it's great. It's everything I thought the original was going to be.

I wish I was able to matchmake with randos still for more activities but it's been fine soloing the campaign and adventures.

Im actually liking the lower player count for crucible a lot. Feels less hectic than I remember which is a good thing in my books.

YES!!!

I thought often at how I felt when I first landed on Venus and how amazingly vast it seemed.

I have those kinds of reactions to pretty much every individual space in each Destination. They are SO varied and well thought out.

It's why the Lost Sectors are so great. They're not as challenging or in depth as an adventure, but you're guided through new aspects of these phenomenal environments.

NESSUS SPOILER

The Tangles, when I arrived in that space, absolutely took my breath away.

Really didn't like Destiny, but I am ready to jump back in with this one. Got the Season Pass too. Hopefully 2nd time's the charm for me. Any way to permanently screw my build here?
