Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

finially got my first exotic drop from a mob, and it's quite decent:

Holding reload allows you to change the energy type, pretty useful.
That's such a nice weapon dude. Definitely one of my favorites in destiny so far besides the Exotic (this one has a quest line so I'm going to tag it)
Sturn Hand Cannon

Anyone?

Are there any guides for some of the systems in play, I only played Destiny 1 for a little while (3 years ago too).

So I've just reached lvl 20 (still have last planet to do as part of campaign) and I have heaps of legendary stuff. What's this about boosting weapons and armor by infusing? How does that work and should I be doing that? Don't really understand light level and that either? Any basic guides?

did they change anything from the beta to the release?

I remember playing the first mission in the beta and being really bored, as if movement or something was screwed around with and the game felt too slow

and now replaying the first mission in the final release and it was actually quite enjoyable and fun. Movement felt a lot better

Am I just being weird? lol

ain't the helm of Saint-14 but looks like I found my exotic helm to rock:

Infusing allows you to dismantle a weapon with a higher gear score to increase the power of another. I believe it costs legendary shards in D2 to do. For example, I got an Exotic helmet at level 8 I really like with a light level around 100. I have a blue helmet with a light level over 210. I can dismantle the blue one, pay the materials, and get my exotic to 210.

Light level is you overall power. It's an average of all of your equipped gear's light.

Has anyone mentioned the
tail of a Kraken-like creature that occasionally appears in the ocean on Titan
? Could this be a preview for
world bosses?
Probably not but it would be nice.

NP! So how can you farm for exotics specifically? Or you can't and you're just gonna cross fingers lol
Going to cross my fingers haha. I heard that exotics have higher chances to drop in Heroic Public Events. Too bad randoms don't know all the ways to turn them Heroic though.

You don't really need anything extensive unless you're really looking to min-max.

Infusing is the option, when you inspect the gun, that lets you basically "eat" another weapon to raise the one you want to a higher Attack. The gun that you consume is typically called "infusion material" or "infusion fuel." The infusion material needs to be the same kind of item (I.e., pulse rifle, shotgun, glove) to infuse. It costs 4 legendary shards to do this (except infusing an exotic into another exotic, which costs no shards).

Should you be doing this? Only on gear you WANT. If there's a gun or armor piece you absolutely love and want to keep, you can infuse it to keep it relevant (all the way until the last moment Destiny 2 exists in this world!). It's not worth doing on "just anything," though.

Your Light level (or "Power" as currently depicted in game) is an average of the attack/defense values on all your gear. At the point in the game you are, you're going to keep getting blue (Rare) gear drops that are higher light than you have equipped.

You can continue to raise your Power level by simply doing activities post 20 that award loot. If you get something that is higher, equip it and watch your numbers go up!

In order to be ready for the raid, it's looking like you want to be at at least 250, and ideally 260.

I just
met Asher Mir and he has given me a choice of three
Exotic weapons; Graviton Lance, Sunshot or Riskrunner. Suggestions?
Graviton Lance is awesome once you get used to the recoil pattern. Lots of damage potential and the exploding enemies can do a lot on top of that too. Sounds amazing to fire.

You're not alone. I thought movement felt a lot quicker in the release version too.

I used sunshot till I finished the campaign and then a little after.

Awesome gun.

the weapon skins bungie made would be way cooler with some marijuana leaves or taco bell logos on them instead

So, the Mida is back? Wow.

Is there a list of returning Exotics as I got the Celestial Nighthawk last night.

Coming into Destiny 2 I thought the Lost Sectors were going to the big new cool thing to do but Adventures has dwarfed them for me. In fact, Adventures at times has given me more of a challenge than the campaign did.

I took the Riskrunner because it seemed similar to Zhalo. That said I only used it for a little bit before it was underleveled for me so it's in my vault now.

In other news I'm looking forward to finding Xur tomorrow.

Graviton Lance is the easy pick of the three- it's incredibly powerful and unique. Won't lead you wrong.

Sunshot is a fantastic HC and its perk is definitely also useful for PvE with lots of enemies in tight spaces. It would be an easy recommendation if not for GL.

Riskrunner is very powerful when you have taken Arc damage, but unremarkable otherwise. It can be good but takes some forethought to build around. Nowhere near as much return on investment as the other two.

I have the Xbox version coming tomorrow. Only ever played the beta on PS4, I'm gonna be lost with this light and engrams stuff, aren't I.

yo wtf is "Faction Rally" ????

So what do I do now with those challenges? I got nothing for completing all 3, do I have to go to someone?
Don't you have to go back to the person who gave it to you?
No one gives you these- they are replacing Daily Bounties from D1. However you may need to go to the vendor associated with the challenge for the reward, not sure (haven't done one yet). That's the EDZ so go talk to Devrim and see.

Phew. Finally hit 20. Was greeted with tons of loot from gunsmith, Tess, Sloane, and Devrim. Can't wait to see where things go from here. I played the first game but never really kept going to experience the end game. I actually haven't even finished the campaign still, think I have a couple of missions left. I really need some legendary armor now, I almost regret choosing Titan this go around because I hate the armor thus far.

Sold my Destiny 2 LE. Apparently there was a hidden bill from the hospital that I was in that I had never seen but I had to pay that immediately or I would be fined so I had to sell it off to someone who would be able to play it.

Man I'm upset now. Well let's hope that there's another Taken King like release where they have a special edition available again or something...

How do I get the item for the subclasses? Just keep playing like normal & hope for a drop? I'm level 9 & haven't seen anything yet.

Thanks guys. I was leaning towards the Sunshot for the sick reload animation, but the Graviton Lance sounds amazing too.

You guys are awesome thank you.

That makes sense cause I just got an exotic that's level 11 and it would be cool to make it relevant. What a cool system I didn't understand how that would actually be useful before. Cheers

Looks like he's coming after next week. Probably to give people time to discover exotics on their own and get enough cash to pay our noodly faced friend.

Also he comes on Tuesdays??? Does this mean he's actually there for a week and If we are acrewed a weekend now we still have plenty of time to get what he sells

well done Bungie, they made a lot of improvement in Destiny 2

but then some genius in the team decided that Nightfall needed a TIMER, good job, they fucked up one of the most beloved activites in Destiny
