Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

alt'ed again for the free exotic. took 1h10m this time. feels like the 2nd free exotic is the same among all classes? so it wouldn't be worth going all the way for that one.

Finish the main campaign, clear all the blue quests in EDZ and you'll get the Mida Mini Tool and starts you on the quest for the exotic scout rifle, you'll need 5 rare or higher, so save those if you find them.

5 rare or higher Scout Rifles? Does it matter if they're Energy or Kinetic?

I bet it'll take a week or more for more people to understand infusing and mods that add power levels to weapons and armor. I really like the system, though.

In fact, I have to eat crow so far overall. Bungie did good.

Mean joke that I don't mean in spoilers.

Clearly, Blizzard's influence.

So, I have a few questions about this:

Do we know what Flashpoints are? What about Guided Games? I'm assuming things such as "prism" and "timewarp" for Nightfalls are gameplay modifiers.

Flashpoints are the dedicated patrol for the week. If you do public events there you get a nightfall tier reward after completing it. There are also treasure maps for that location too.

Is there any way to make the exotic armor/weapon power level higher? I got the exotic arms in the campaign(titan) and they are lower power level than my current gear.

Infuse a higher power of the same type of armor or weapon into it

lol fair enough. but is there a smart way to go about things to make it easier?
Rule of thumb:

Finish the story. You level pretty consistently to 200 power just that way. Then:

If the rewards are blue engrams, do it right away.
If the rewards are tokens, do it right away.
If the rewards are legendary, wait until you hit 260 power.

Slightly longer:

Public events and world events (like Scavengers and High Value Targets) are great ways to get XP and blue engrams as rewards.
Lost Sectors can be done once per week (not sure on frequency) and are great way to get blue engrams after you beat the story.
Zone Chests can only be done once ever, but the rewards are tokens. Do whenever.
Adventures scale to your power, good post story content.
World Quests typically give legendary or exotic rewards, wait til 260.
Challenges can give legendary rewards, wait til 260.
Milestones give legendary rewards, wait til 260.
Cayde-6's treasure maps give legendary or exotic rewards, wait til 260.

I think that's everything.

Edit: I should note that this is mostly for power leveling after the campaign. Like John said, you can get to around 200 from the story alone.

Adding on to what John wrote, this is what I personally did to reach 282:
-farm EDZ's public events for tokens.
-Kill any/all high valued targets in the area.
-Open every chest you find and collect the dusklight you may come across.
-You're gonna get a lot of blues. Replace whatever low power level gear you have with the new one and dismantle those old ones.
-I personally did not wait till 230 like some recommend to start ranking up folks like Devrim and Banshee. I visited Banshee a lot due to dismantling old.
-Save NF, the Flashpoint, the Weekly Crucible, and the blue crown quests on each planet till you hit 260-265 (I waited till I was 265 before doing any of them).

That's pretty much what I did from 215 to 265.

If you're lucky, you can get exotics off from ranking up with folks. Got Sweet Business off of Banshee and the Sunbreaker exotic chest off of Devrim while grinding. That helped up bump up my power level.

I started infusing stuff around 260. Held off on legendary mods I got from Bright engrams till 270ish (mostly because I had no idea what weapon I'll be using a lot over the coming days.)
Edit2: forgot to say you can also get lucky and get legendary mods from Banshee rank ups.

Are you going to be able to do raids with randoms in this game? I know usually in MMO type games the high end raids are pretty much impossible with randoms but there is usually light raid type content that is more casual as well.

Can someone help me with infusion? Is it work infusing something for the early exotic armor piece you are given? If so how do I go about that?

Asking because I finally found an uncommon chest armor that has higher stats.

D1 titan to D2 titan. you can't merge the appearance with a new class.

strikes still have matchmaking

not sure. haven't really done any co-op yet. still working on the campaign.
Aww... thanks for answering, wanted to roll a Warlock this time since I stayed away from that class in D1, wanted the additional stuff.

At least I can do strikes until I'm needed for a NF, or try and go all Esoterikk and solo like a boss.

What currency is Xur taking this go around and where can I get it?

damn that level, still wondering what the raid requirement is going to be.

Does anyone have a name for the Thomas Newman-ish track that plays in EDZ? I can't find it in the soundtrack, but it's by far the best piece of music in the game. It changes keys a lot every few bars, has kinda fast 16th note string trills, marchy tempo.

Bought two days ago and I thought it was installed. Just logged on ans got hit with a transferring game content screen with a massive 14GN download. Wtf?

Does this even automatically download in rest mode?

Kinda sucks that it requires a kinetic sub machine gun to infuse into another kinetic sub machine gun etc. Also kinda sucks that you can't infuse warlock armor into titan armor etc. Makes me feel like only running one character TBH.

Hopefully they reduce the grind a little in future patches/expansions.

Wait you can't infuse armor from one class into armor for another? Why?

Oh I didn't know about that for armor infusions. Good thing im saving my alts for playing with people who are getting the game later or it would be a pain.

What do you mean paired?

They have a set bonus for increased stats.

Sturm and Drang also are a set in that their perks affect each other.

I remember with Taken King, there was an option to kind of upgrade and buy the CE digital items separately. Is there something like that here as well?

So I'm about to head out on the first real mission after getting my super back.

Are there daily challenges I can pick up in the farm, like in Destiny 1?

Nope they are already active in each planet.

You can see the challenges for the one you are on when you bring up your ghost on the right side of the screen.

They reset daily at around 5AM EST.
