I'm surprised by how fun they made him look I also saw some Hulk gameplay and he looks really fun too. Seems like the characters that normally wouldn't interest me are the ones catching my eye here.

If I seriously get into this, it will likely be Jedah/Cap Marvel. Jedah seems fun despite being PG, and he's voiced by my man Beast Wars Megatron. I didn't get the chance to really use Marvel in the demo, but she has some really juicy projectile beams.
I feel story mode has to do with the lack of Ammy. There was probably some discussion about bringing her back, but they needed to justify what she'd bring to the story mode when she can't directly talk to any of the rest of the cast.
Then there's translating Okami's artstyle into this game's, which I'm not sure I'd like to see.
...So Monster Hunter isn't part of the initial roster, huh. 
At least Dormammu and Firebrand, two of my besties, made it and look better than ever. My friend though, he's a huge Taskmaster fan and is really disappointed to see no Brooklyn Skeletor.

Well, a season 2 DLC announcement for Amaterasu at Capcom Cup would coincide with Okami HD's rerelease.

Exactly, both Joe and Ammy would look fucking awful in this game's artstyle.
Though I'm betting Joe was also cut because of his proportions and someone (either at Marvel or Capcom, I don't know which) saying no one would take the story mode seriously if all of the human characters didn't have similar proportions.
I can't think of another reason that Viewtiful Joe, Capcom's resident super hero, wouldn't be back for a super hero crossover game.

If Ryu has low health, it just changes the animation, that's all.

Why does every trailer have the volume lowered for everything except the voices. It really bothers me especially cuz the voice work isn't that good or well-mixed to begin with.

Removing the scarf from X's Command Mission costume literally removes the only thing that makes that costume awesome. Bummer...

It says there will be a "trial play" of the DLC characters, which is usually the term used in Japan for early access or a hands-on demo. It also comes directly after the sentence stating that all 30 launch characters will be available to play at the show. I guess we'll see, though.

I really like the Thor and Ryu alt outfits. But like, I'm going to be playing on PC so I'm far more interested in what gets modded than anything Capcom produces in terms of alt outfits.

Yup, I'm more excited for Black Panther than I do for Sigma.
They remind me more of the original comic (and MSH) cartoony designs for the stones than the movie feel they using in the game.

Edit : oh it's not till after the game comes out. Well shit. I hoped that meant they qould be available at launch.

1. They cannot bring back every single character from 3 on the capcom side, considering they cannot do the same for marvel since they clearly want to push MCU at launch.
2. Each character that isn't an obvious mainstay, like Ryu or Chun, was picked for the sake of story mode. Being able to pair up with characters for said story mode, or just in general fitting the story.
That's my current theory anyways.

I'm a lucky one in that an ok amount of my chars from UMvC3 got transferred over. I am going with my very first team in MvC3, though - Arthur & Spencer (but no DP -_-), not sure on the gem. I'm actually pretty happy with the roster size for now, one of the few people to likely say that. Relearning my old characters, finding out what crazy stuff can be done with everyone able to now tag anywhere, and then add the gems....I'm good for a bit I think. I still want new characters hell yes, but I'm at peace with the roster for now.
Also, definitely going to be one of even fewer people to say this....bring Hsien Ko back dangit!!! I loved her in 3, paired with MODOK and Deadpool/Spencer, there were some really great things to do. With how they have made every character (seemingly) pretty viable and capable on their own, I would love to see how they would improve her.
