Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Interesting lore thing? I'm not sure if this was known or maybe I'm looking to deep into it.

In an adventure on Nessus where our Ghost interfaces with a Vex network they apparently are friendly to him and keep telling him to "come home." Does that imply that whatever the hell Vex are they are somehow related to Ghosts/Traveler? They mentioned an Original Program so maybe they are connected and split off at one point. That Osiris bit at the end was also interesting where he was apparently the one to kick us out of the network.
HOLY SHIT! NICE FIND!

So I think I found the raid entrance.

At the bottom left corner of Nessus is a tall cylindrical structure with a vex door. A lot of people found this place in the beta and in full game from the Inverted Spire Strike.

Going inside leads you to I believe the "Well of Flame". Going through the well takes you to a room with a crystal shooting a light beam into a closed room. You can see into the room and the light splits into several beams much like the key in D1. I thought nothing of it, thinking it was for a strike as ive done no strikes and ignored it.

Today reading a reddit post about someone else finding this he found an adventure near by that hints to the leviathan, or a ship that can eat a planet. What I then realized is that the beam from the room was emitting from a yellow pyramid, which is the Leviathan symbol! :D

Kinda bums me out that the biggest discussion surrounding this game is the shader thing, considering how good it is.

It's really dumb considering how frequently you get free Eververse engrams after level 20.

I dunno why anyone would ever spend money on them in the first place.

It's a great sign! People will always find something to complain about with a huge game like this, so consumable shaders? That's the worst part of the game? Okay, great! Sign me up for the PC version =D

Yup, this is my thought process.

If shaders being monetized heavily is literally the worst thing the community can say right now, that's a good sign IMO.

I thought for sure it would have been "You can buy mods?!!!" but shaders seem to be on the front burner.

Jason are you and Kurt grabbing Todd again? He may have stopped playing Persona 5. May.

:)

I don't know that people have realised you can buy mods. I was being held back by my chest light level and started playing with the mod system - turns out a legendary mod from a bright engram that I opened fitted in there and boosted me 5 levels.

People are going to be pissed when they realise this.

So tired....must keep playing.

Am I ok with ignoring mods until I'm at 280 and can buy them from Banshee?

The modding system is complex for me as it seems if you have an Energy weapon or Heavy weapon, your mod is just the elemental damage. It can be changed to another element, but it doesn't lend to much experimentation. Am I correct?

Do people have a specific website/resource that has a good explanation of everything that is possible in Destiny 2 in regards to all your character upgrades, etc.?

I am still only a Level 7 and it is going to take me quite some time to hit 20 as I just have limited time to play anything these days, but if there is one aspect of the game I feel needs explaining, it is all of the upgrading your character.

So any suggestions in the right direction are greatly appreciated.

I also asked this awhile back in the thread and never got a reply. If someone can let me know that would be great.
Can one eventually sell, trade, or give weapons to friends? Or is it just dismantle them? I have about 4 versions of the same sniper rifle and wondering what to do with them.

Nope. Legendary mods raise the light level by 5. I'd been ignoring it completely until I found that out.

1st question. John and Namikaze's post about leveling up is linked in the first post. Take a peek.

2nd question - there is no trading

are the Adventures able to be done after you beat the Campaign?

don't want them to disappear or anything
Yeah. Just go to the NPCs in the patrol areas and they'll have the Adventures you previously completed available for replay.

I *think* you have to complete all adventures on a planet first, however, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I only seem to have one legendary mod so far and I was holding off using it until I hit higher PL. I guess I can add it to one of my exotics and then just PL increase when I can.

You can do them whenever. I have a ton left at 20.

ok...I've done like 6 or 7 (I think) while doing the Campaign missions too so was just wanting to make sure

I think I'm just gonna do the Campaign stuff until I get those done then worry about everything else after. I'm Level 16 now with a Power of like 150 something so hopefully I can build that up a bit in my last handful of story stuff.

Got to 20 last night and finished the story, I've got to say the 1-20 experience of Destiny 2 is 10x better than the first game, both in terms of what's in the 1-20 experience and in terms of what they lock behind getting to 20. Finishing the game really does feel like "oh shit yes, let's get started" instead of the Destiny 1 post game sensation: "Oh...this again 50 times?"

Really great decision to have the story end where it does (player progress wise) and not have people grinding gear to see the credits as well.

People need a reason to band around and throw rocks. I get it the shader thing at the end of the day sucks and is exactly the direction people did not want micro transactions to go.

This game is crazy awesome. All the quality of life changes are top notch.

Cuz it's lame. It was always fun to just switch shaders on the fly without worrying about losing it. Making them consumables was a downgrade.

My exotics already were at 270 ish and had one equipped - I had to add it to a blue. Some of them are also specific to particular equipment, and classes. I just got lucky I had one in a slot that really needed it!

Don't ignore them. Will help increase your power level. My one suggestion for weapon mods is to use them on the weapons you know you'll be using in the raid since these mods are hard to come by until you're 280. As for armor mods, well that's up to you on what armor you want.

I think people hate consumable shaders because now you basically have to wait until endgame every major content grind before you can safely set up your desired color scheme.

Played as much as I could last night and hit level 15. This grind to 20 sucks. The game is tons better than D1 though

After your first character hits 20 the other two have to be leveled up as well?

No, just no.

Fuck Failsafe.

Bruvs, this talk breaks my heart. I quite enjoy the exchanges between Failsafe and Ghost. Now, the real lame fuck boy in the neighborhood is that Asher fellow. Fucking needs to shut the hell up, that one. Talking all of that nonsense I don't care about.

Been playing a Attunement of Hunger as a Voidwalker for a while and decided to switch to Chaos. My goodness, they really made the charged grenade ability into something extraordinary. Only consumes a little bit of your super energy and when you have a fully charged grenade (vortex one at least, the other grenades seem to suck this time around) it's almost like its own super in how quickly it will drain an enemy's health. Combined with the void kill explosions and a pretty cool nova bomb. I think I'm starting to prefer it over Hunger, despite how much I like the Devour ability and how tanky it can make you.

But man, charging that grenade is just satisfying.

I'm just now realizing that I had two exotics that I dismantled because they were dupes. I should have removed their legendary mod before I dismantled them!

Question about the campaign and how far I am in it
just got the Vanguard to go back to the farm and I've a mission back on earth now. How many hours left?

Yes, every character has to be leveled separately.

I got to 18 but I'm so burned out from grinding the main story I'm gonna take a break for a few days.

I started feeling this a bit as well, probably because I played the entire game solo so far. More fun with friends.
