Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

I'm not having fun in Crucible at all. Even games I go on streaks aren't very thrilling. D1's 6v6 was much more fun tbh.

I get like 1 super per game at most. This shit ain't fun.

I still dunno how to feel about it. It's more "competitive" and "fair" across the board and leaning more towards the slow pace of Halo. There's no more wrecking ball Call of Duty style multiplayer where you just run around and shoot shit and can be a walking death ball cause team fire is such a big deal.

On the one hand, on paper, I prefer the former, but the latter is way more fun as a turn your brain off and just enjoy sort of multiplayer.

Would have been smarter to have both but oh well.

The fact that small clans get punished so hard sucks. I was running with 5 friends and we disbanded to join a Reddit clan just because that's really the only way to level up reasonably quickly. Laaaaaame.
Warframe nailed this by having XP requirements and all that scale with the clan's player count.

I'm hoping the complaints eventually create a "classic mode" down the line. Issue is they would need design maps based on 6v6.

Just got this awesome grenade launcher in crucible

Honestly they just need to add 8-player Rumble to scratch that itch.

Kinda hoping they do that in an update or DLC.

I've finally completed all lost sectors and region chests for EDZ. Got around 100 EDZ tokens left to turn in now, should level me up several times at least.

I read someone's post earlier this morning saying your alt will level faster than your first character. Is this true, and if so how does it work? Do I need to get my main to the Cap first before my alt will get the bonus xp? Or is it just from loot share?

I am so on the fence about this. I think if we could pick what game mode we could play it would feel better. I have some games I really like the 4v4. Other games were I really miss the chaos of supers and vehicles. Hopefully bungie adds something else.

Nice, got that auto-level to 20 after finishing the campaign. Gonna go do a ton of public events and adventures. Still sitting at like 193 Power

I don't think this is true or possible but I'm an idiot.

So the way that I THINK this would work is that it's easier for your alts to get to a higher Power Level after they hit 20. Since gear is level-capped prior to 20, you can only get a certain Power Level from it anyway. However, once you hit 20, if your main is sitting at 240 Power, you should automatically start getting items at 240+.

EDIT: I've only finished the campaign with my main and haven't run an alt yet, but based on how loot works this makes sense to me.

Supers being the problem in Crucible is like killstreaks being the problem in COD. I like that they only happen a couple times a game, it makes sense. The thing I don't like is the insane amount of aim assist, it defeats the purpose of a longer time to kill completely. It's a wannabe Halo from (a very few of) the guys that made Halo.

Ok I just need some direct pointers. I've been told to avoid milestones until around 260. Problem is I can't get over 210. What missions should I be doing to get to 260?

You should be doing patrols/public events to get faction tokens. These will give you legendaries that will raise your light level.

At least 10 of my coworkers ask me on a daily basis if I’ve bought the game yet. I was holding out for the PC version, but I think I’m going to cave and get it right now.

Hopefully doing everything over again on PC isn’t too much of a pain. Wish you could transfer progress, even if it were a one time thing.

I'm still surprised they didnt include 6v6 or bigger, fun, goofy options. Always liked that for a change of pace, the smaller competitive settings don't gel as well with me.

i refuse to set foot in it.

stuck at 277 light. can't think of a way to progress besides praying for exotic engrams

i suppose there's legendary gear/armor mods but they are so rare (only have two) and to craft them you need to be 280 light iirc

Put it this way, my hunter is at 276 and I started my titan like 6 hours ago and he's already at 274. You level alts up super fast. It's amazing.

OK. Had a pretty productive time in Destiny 2. I think I'm level 14 now. I was able to get the exotic as a mission reward for doing campaign stuff on IO. Sunshot is pretty cool. I really like it as a handgun.

Anyway. My main complaint with Destiny 2's gameplay is the same as Destiny 1. As a Hunter, I have a lot of wonderful movement options that is hindered by ADS. Having to slow down and aim to be accurate kills too much of the momentum in the gameplay in my opinion.

This is why I gravitate towards guns that let me be reasonably accurate shooting form the hip. Think handcannons and scout rifles. What's really cool is I found this submachine gun called the Phillips-2B (I think) that is pretty awesome when firing from the hip. I hope there are more weapons like it out there. And I realize there is virtually no chance, but I would love for Bungie to ditch ADS in the future.

This is the worst week possible for me to be working night shift. I usually love this shift because it's quiet and slow. But this week all I can think about is how much I would rather be at home playing destiny. :|

Finally beat the campaign and adventures. I have to say this game was a huge huge step up from Destiny 1. So cinematic and interesting story. Can't wait for more.

Just finished campaign and hit 20. What's the gameplay loop to upgrade gear now? Head back out and do public event/patrol stuff for coins to turn in for those purple engrams? Had enough rep items to get 12 or so engrams as soon as I hit 20, but the item levels haven't really been going up.

god I love and hate destiny

I love playing it, but I hate the way it takes over my life

I was enjoying casual video game rocket league sessions and now I'm gaming for 6 hours at a time

"awesome grenade launcher" is an oxymoron.. I hate that weapon type >_<

What's the justification to the change of the weapon system? Things felt way more dynamic with a sniper or shotty along with my scout or hand-cannon in the first game. Now I feel like I just need to stick to my auto rifle, especially in pvp.

I think they've done a great job refining destiny outside of that. I'm pretty irked by the lack of new content, but they've well in making it feel fun and rewarding.

Yes, after a while go turn in metal scraps at farm for bigger level boosts, and repeat until you hit 265. Then do the hand out stuff.

I'm guessing pvp balance which I want to say 10-20% of the playerbase probably cares about, but they might be seeing if they can use that side for esports or some crap.

Got my firsts proper exotic drop whilst doing a public event, nice warlock helmet called Crown of Tempests. Looks cool and means I can run around now looking like a warlock king.

it just makes it easier for them to balance pvp. also, it artificially makes the game harder/longer in pve, as in, players now can't just melt their bullet sponge bosses if they have a fireteam with decent snipers/special weapons+heavies

It doesn't help pvp balance though. It just makes it feel like whoever has more people focus on one opponent wins because auto-rifle headshotting isn't hard. PVP is way more boring now, it just all feels like long-mid range battles.

In Destiny heavy pick ups felt like they gave you a huge advantage. Now you really need to work to make them have any kind of pay off. Everything just feels so static.
