Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Can someone explain the taken to me I quit d1 after house of wolves

So the taken appear to be souls are they the darkness? Even though bungie dropped all references to the darkness in d2 lol.

I thought the taken king is the leader of the hive since he's crotas dad.

So are the hive the darkNess or just weak taken. I saw a few hive on one planet but are they pretty much done? After all we've seen two expansions have raids for them.
 
Honestly im feeling burnt out already by like level 15.

It definitely feels like Destiny again but
- Titan armor is hideous so far, thus loot isn't interesting.
- stuck with 1 shitty ship.
- no Sparrow yet.

Once you get Riskrunner exotic you might as well stop playing because you don't need another gun ever. I was like "oh great a submachine gun exotic" when I got it but the thing is the best gun for pve hands down.

So once you get hit with arc dmg it activates some overcharge mode for five seconds during which:

-all your shots do higher dmg
-you chain lightning to nearby enemies
-all kills reset the timer for overcharge
-you have unlimited ammo during overcharge

This thing is basically having the warlock arc super active at all times. I did the EDZ "enemies fighting each other" event just now and went around 7 minutes without reloading once and killed like a thousand enemies. It absolutely decimates bosses too because you can fire non stop without reloading.

Interesting. I have it but I couldn't see its benefit until you explained it. So what enemies hit you with arc damage?

The Taken King, Oryx, was Crota's father. He has the ability is to "take" enemies, hauling them into another dimension and returning them as his twisted minions. The Taken are the scattered remnants of his army.

Short story, The Taken are creatures of all factions getting possesed by the darkness. There are not humans on their ranks so far since most of humanity was on the last city and the Guardians looks like inmune to be possesed yet.

The faction is neutral but its hostile to other beings taking them to their ranks by force by sucking them to black holes of darkness and "take" them, Oryx manages to take control of them but after his defeat the Taken have no leader and act as a pack of feral creatures chasing high peaks of Light.
 
Has anyone soloed the nightfall yet?

My absolute favorite part of D1 was slowly and methodically taking each encounter of a nightfall, and finding ways to cheese aspects of the game.
 
I'm realizing I wasnt awarded any of my premium digital content, and I'm not sure why. I've completed the campaign, I'm at level 20....

?

  • 11 minutes to complete whole thing
  • Mechanics based last boss
Surprised if someone has time to practice it enough while also gaining high enough PL advantage to get it done before Tuesday.

I'm PL 216. Looong way to go yet, but looking forward to it. Seems to be a lot to do, strikes, challenges, patrol, adventures etc.

Ugh. I didn't realize there was a timer now. I guess it also wouldn't be as fun for a guy like me without unlimited access to sniping, ala the good ole Ice Breaker.

Oh well, it gives me a reason to revisit D1.

I am disappointed with some of the design decisions here. As much as everyone is saying that D2 is everything D1 should have been, I'm not sure which one will end up being better for me yet.
 
Idk I never felt like soloing NFs was worth the time in D1. You could always find a couple people to help you out and get it done quick. Not much of a loss if you can't solo them anymore IMO.
 
Pike dregs are such roving bands of asshole. You're out enjoying some public event / patrol / scenery / etc and suddenly "roving asshole band is near" and some harley-wannabe douchebag is running you down or energy chain-gunning the back of your head. Screw those guys.

Well-the things I would check are that you entered the pre-order code if there was one.

You should get these things from the Postmaster after the story is over and you're level 20.

If not contact the retailer you pre ordered from.
 
Really loving the progression. Don't have to worry and just play and you will level up in no time. already reached 218. I'm just doing adventures and lost sectors and public events on the EDZ.
 
Man, I just feel so paranoid using my lower light but preferred weapons and having my higher light weapons on person hoping that exotics will drop at and above that level. Definately confirmed that they will take your highest possible LL into account automatically right?

If it makes you feel any better all the armor looks terrible until post game where you'll be wearing all legendary and exotic armor. A lot of the good loot comes after the campaign.
 
PL 284. I've done all there is to do in the game with 1 character now. I guess most people getting ready for the raid have, half my roster is leveling alts already.

Thats part of the issue though, in Destiny 1 you could get decent looking stuff early on(it wasn't amazing or anything it just didn't look terrible).
 
Where are all of the people at for public events? I played this for about 2-3 hours today and I have seen maybe two people roaming in the public areas outside of the Farm. It feels like I am playing the game alone. I'm referring to Earth and Titan, by the way.

There definetly seemed to be more people for those earlier in the week. Now it's a ghost town.

I still find myself equipping my highest level gear out of habit.
