Really?! Did they level 3 of the same class and push the main one really high with "powerful gear" and quest rewards?
Which doesn't make sense if there are over a million people playing this.

You know - I just checked and I haven't received mine, either. I ordered from Amazon and I got Coldheart and the pre-order bonuses, but not my digital deluxe items. I checked my addons for the game and they're listed there. I've finished the campaign (I'm PL 272) so do I open a ticket with Bungie?
edit: j/k, I just checked my vault and they were there under collections. Maybe check your vault? You should receive them from the Postmaster... can't remember if I did or not, I've played too much in the past few days it's all blurring together.

Not in my opinion. As you progress, you'll start to notice the gap between levels.
It's only that way if you're actually trying to level up quick.

It's like all slight variations on that so far.
I like that gear in general doesn't need to be levelled anymore.
I really don't like the D2 titan pose. Looks so goofy.

I miss day 1 where it was easy to find a lot of people taking on public events. I hate being timed in games so Nightfall irritates me now. Still scared to use any of my good looking shaders. The only two Titan armors I like are the IO set and one other one that I can't get pieces to drop ever. My only gripes. Game is still a blast to play

In terms of armour mods, has anyone found grenade cooldown reduction for void subclass on legs and chest? Only been able to find them on helm and arms (would much rather use the reload speed mod on arms). However, I have lots of Grenade cooldown mods for solar and arc subclass for chest and legs.
Anyone? Have I just been unlucky at the gunsmith? Not like there's anything else to spend 99999+ glimmer on.

I had already tried 3 times to make a new character actually look like my Destiny 1 female character(which means having to redo the entire intro to see it with lighting.)
I wasn't doing any more, but did set the helmet to "always on" now because of that.
Guess I have some work to do.
The only thing I'm not liking is that they made the grind too easy...
I already have 50+ legendaries and 5+ exotics, they give you these things like candy so they lose all value. I remember getting my first legendary in D1 and cherishing it.
Of course D1 was too stingy in Vanilla but this is insane.

I'm in the middle of playing Taken King right now so I won't have all answers from grimoires and completion yet, but so far you are kind of correct.
Oryx(Crota's pissed off dad), has a special ability to turn living souls into Taken. Basically think the white walkers in GoT. In the CG opening of TTK, he lives on this massive ship called the dreadnought that is currently hovering around Saturn's rings. Since humanity killed his son in the Raid, he just decided to use his power to fuck up everyone. Started building his army from all species and sending them throughout the planets. (Hasn't explained his power yet to me, he just has it)
Currently in Destiny 1, the Taken are all over as you wander each map. They just pop up randomly with public events and there are lots of quests and rewards to taking time to wander and kill them. Not sure how it all pans out storywise and with Oryx's raid, but I must say everyone was correct, The a Taken King was a massive improvement to the first game. Missions are varied and have a narrative flow that is sensical. The threat feels real and tangible, and I now wish I jumped in way back when it was new.
I believe they changed that in D1 when TTK launched, but yeah, its a good change.
Nope, the slip in my box says it includes all of it: expansions, LE content, and preorder content.

So I'm bout to pull the trigger on this but I'm a little hesitant still.
I played D1 but got bored with the pve before the raid even hit. I honestly have no desire for the pvp, overwatch gets all my pvp time.
Is there enough meat on the pve bone where I can get a good 2-3 months out of this?

Depends how minmax you want to be about PL gains.
Basically any engram you get from events, chests, enemies or token vendors like Failsafe you should decrypt asap as tied to your current PL etc.
If you want minmax don't pick up engrams from NPC's like Cayde after completing their weekly task as those engrams scale up as long you don't redeem them from NPC's.

You have to dip into the smaller blights to get a buff that lets you damage the large blight for a few seconds. But yes, the few times I've encountered it, people kill the small blights before you can do damage to the big one.
I believe the engrams that are locked to your current PL tell you what level the engrams is if you hover over it.

Good rule of thumb is that if engram is in your inventory then its PL is set.
Token vendors engram says PL on screen.

Character number 2 ready to go. I'll now do the NF and maybe exotic quests. I haven't accepted the exotic Engrams from Zavala yet which you get for finishing the story and I recommend that other people put it off for as long as possible as it's the only exotic Engram that scales with your level when you open it. Accepting it auto levels you to 20 but it's not worth it.
Here's what to do for 2nd/3rd characters after story to hit 280+ easy.
1) Hit level 20, then transfer your best weapons from your main
2) Quickly run a bunch of lost sectors and get some daily challenges done to get armour at 260
3) Turn in all tokens to get yourself to 270
4) Do the exotic quests if you want, then accept the exotic Engram from Zavala and then do the NF, this will take you to high 270
5) Once you hit 280 just buy +5 armour/weapons mod from gunsmith to put you beyond 280
All this including running story from scratch will take you about 6-7 hours in total.
