Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

So I'm level 20 and haven't finished the campaign.

Are Strikes and all other activities locked until I beat the last mission?

Also, what's the quickest route to max light level?

Didn't they change the way weapons work to better balance PVP? Because PVP is booty. Not only is it booty. Having the fireteam sizes between PvP and PvE being different gives even less incentive to play PvP because pve is so fun.

Like the capture point and kill confirmed (sry I dunno the mode names) are decent because they force you to move around more.

I mean the game feels like an arena shooter but it doesn't get to play like one because the ttk is too high. And they should go full arena shooter I'm they can definitely do it. Have an over shield buff, a buff that immediately gives you ult etc.

I dunno if this is any kind of cohesive thought.

Just got Sweet Business at 273 off a legendary engram.

Awwww yis

strike rating:

Inverted Spire | A

A clean and steady progression across a variety of encounters and set pieces, along with a "this isn't even my final form" boss battle secure this strike's spot as a mainstay for the game.

The Arm's Dealer | A
An all out warzone. It's big, it's action packed, and features a large boss battle arena for players to muck around about. It's fantastic, unless you aren't in the mood to shoot Cabal.

Savathun's Song | B
Fight shoulder to shoulder alongside your fireteam crushing Hive. With a few mechanics sprinkled in and a disturbing story to make it all the more urgent, it's a solid strike held back only by it's somewhat underwhelming boss.

The Pyramodion | B
Relive the Vault of Glass as Asher yells at you to exact his revenge. Drop down massive chasms, dodge deathly laser curtains, and try to to avoid being sniped by a very angry, very large hobgoblin boss

Lake of Shadows | C
A claustrophobic upward battle filled with precarious platforming, booby traps, and a "floor is lava" bossfight. As challenging as it can be frustrating

Exodus Crash | D
A messy, tedious and needlessly long progression towards a battle whose unique premise of sticky shoe platforms and an invisible boss is overshadowed by how annoying it actually is.

Nope, the slip in my box says it includes all of it: expansions, LE content, and preorder content.

I got all of it except preorder content

Just a heads up for people- I checked the Bungie forums and it's a known issue that those who ordered a PS Pro Bundle did not get the preorder portion of the digital items. It's being looked into.

Got my first cbaracter to 284 nearly 285 in about 30 hours of play time. Here's my mehod:

Always decrypt legendary and exotic engrams right away. They dont increase in light when you do so if you dont use them they become worthless for light gain.

DO NOT do milestones until you are over 265. They are the best way apart from Nightfall to get gear over 270.

Get to around 250 from blue drops from public events and any engrams you get along the way. Stockpile all the faction rewards turnins during this time.

Omce 250 give or take, start dumping your faction rewards turnins one at a time. Check the gear you get against your current gear and wear it if its higher. If your curre t gear DOES have a +5 mod on it and the new gear DOES NOT, infuse the new gear into the current gear to get the highest light possible. This should get you to 265 easily if you stockpiled faction rewards. Try to make sure your energy weapon and power weapon arent exotic due to next step.

If you got any +5 purple weapon/armor mods while turning in faction rewards, put them on any gear slots that dont have one if possible.

Once 265, do your first exotic primary weapon quest. That will bump you to 267 or higher assuming you have a few 270 pieces already (265 gear with a +5 mod).

NOW do all the milestones. Again, only turn in one at a time and check the rewards against your current gear, making sure to maximize based on any pieces that have the +5 mods. Make sure to join a clan for the clan milestone. Also do a 2nr exotic weapon quest after 1-2 milestones if you didnt get a higher light primary than the 1st exotic.

SAVE your favorite exotic quest for last. I waited to get my mida muti tool until I hit 283 light and it dropped at 293. That is what brough me to the upper half of 284 (and allows me to USE my trusty mida).

Doing this I was able to get to 284, two points shy of 285, on my first character without creating alts to re-do nightfall and whatnot.

Hope this helps someone.

I'm liking this look for my Warlock. Other chest is 279, but want to hit 280 so I can get some legendary mods before I infuse.

I've almost managed to take this bastard out twice solo. A full fireteam would be ideal, but I'm pretty sure just two of us would be able to knock it out without sweating. Otherwise, there's no room for error, as one death or fall and the whole fight restarts.

Did you kill the guy in the middle of the level for the gun requirement? If you did we need to restart

This is very helpful, but I feel like a lot of the gain relies on luck of the draw for the milestone rewards. Because I did this and I'm 270 and not 280.

It's a LITTLE luck based due to which gear slots drop in your rewards, but everyone I play with got near/over 280 doing this. I feel like Bungie's algorythm heavily weighs the rewards in favor of what you need. The key is to scout for +5 mods the entire game and hold onto any pieces that have them, and to always always always maximize your ligh level by infusing properly between rewards.

I have 8 regular fireteam members and they all got to 279-285 doing this.

Gonna start my second character to do it again.

Stupid black screen at hub world screwed me over, had an engram where everything was new but it wouldn't load me into hub world, within a couple of minutes the exotic selection already reset. The hell is going on with this black screen at hub stations stuff?

Gonna start my second character to do it again.

You cant re do milestones. You can, but you only get the POWERFUL GEAR reward once per week per account. My buddy texans tried. You can still re do the nightfall on 2nd 3rd etc chars as it drops high gear, bit you dont get the big milestone rewards again supposedly. I havent tried myself.

The milestone stuff is only once per account? No matter if you're playing a different character class or not?

Thats what he said. Granted he may have been trying to cheese it with a 2nd char of the same class... I cant confirm 100% until I do it myself. My first char was titan, will be working on my warlock on Monday.

I can't get past 274 light level... help.

Look up a few posts. Hopefully my advice isnt too late for u.

Anyone up for the Nightfall. My brother and I grinded until the magical 265 power level, then claimed some powerful rewards/did some exotic infusing and are both 268 now. Ready for Nightfall we are. Anyone interested?

So what's everybody feeling towards the game so far? For me it's the same as destiny 1. It's mindless fun but that's it. Story is meh, the enemies are a bit lackluster very similar to the original game. I enjoy it and will play but it's still a 7/10 for me.

So my Insanity Patrol Loop Final Results;

8.5 Hours total. 100,000 Total Glimmer Earned, 410 EDZ Tokens (Exactly 20 Rank Packages), 96 Dusk Light Shards, 12 Dusklight Shards (Rare), 250 Gunsmith Materials, 5 Legendary Engrams.

Went from Level 1 to 20, Power Level 10 to 265
All my Blue Gear us @263 cap, which is hella weird, I'm guessing my Warlock ring high is benefitting it.

I'm on Mission #3 of the campaign by the way. All sub-classes unlocked, now all that XP I'll earn in Campaign translates to free Bright Engrams...

Gonna do my Hunter same way. All those other Power Leveling guides are nice, but my method destroys those!
You earn so many different things and then when you do campaign it's really worth it for now that you're in the bonus for those Bright Engrams.

Get those 5 Legendary Engrams to decrypt and 20 packages to get and earn a fully Legendary set hopefully from Devrim. Hope some come with Legendary +5 mod bonuses installed.

This feels like what I wanted Destiny 1 to be. 9/10 so far. Top 5 games I've played this year. ( I also have a lot of 9+/10 games this year though.)

And you did all this solo?

I'm not too clear on what exactly are milestones=

Are these missions given by NPC's like Gunsmith , Shaxx and Devrim?

I haven't turned in any Tokens or materials.

I'm assuming each zone NPC is what FWC, NM and DO used to be.

They award Legendary gear for faction rank and whatever currency?

I'm at 265 now, can someone explain to me the whole exotic infusing progression tip I keep reading about?

I don't fully understand what to do.

So you started grinding EDZ public events/region chests for 8 hours?!?!

Yeah milestones are a chain. Theres a crucible one, guild exp earned, nightfall (starts out as something else but last step is NF). Each milestone gives a 'powerful gear' reward which is 2 pieces of gear above your current light level. So its best to save them.

Faction rewards are rhe NPC on each planet, the gunsmith, and i think a couple other NPCs at the tower, although those other two arent as commom (crucible faction for instance). Tthey award legendary gear up to 265 light and can drop the +5 mods which are very important for maximizing light.

And yes I mostly solo'd it. Had a buddy for some of the public events stuff as its hard to get heroic rewards solo. Obviously did NF in a 3man premade. Crucible milestone was all solo.

Does competitive not bring in replacements if you have someone drop? My team had someone drop at the start and we played through the whole match without anyone being added. We somehow managed to win, but it was really irritating.

Aw shit I did the first two crucible milestones already.

I missed out on legendary gear then...

Do gear power level drops depend on what you have equipped currently?

-- Unlocked Nightstalker (too much grinding public events, in my opinion).
-- Had lots of fun with the Sunshot. I really hope Bungie doesn't nerf it because it is so powerful and awesome.
-- Reached level 20. Still haven't finished campaign.

Yo, Nightstalker is so good. It's a great support class and is very empowering on its own. I have a hard time deciding which "path" is better, but either way you can combo together your super with your grenade. It's a contender for best subclass in the game, no doubt.

I'm at 265 now, can someone explain to me the whole exotic infusing progression tip I keep reading about?

I don't fully understand what to do.

I'll try.

First off it doesnt matter if its exotic or not. Any legendary can have the +5 mod too. Exotics are just guaranteed to have one.

Lets say I have two scout rifles. Both are 265 light. One has a +5 mod on it (purple mod on the item detail screen with a 5 on it). The one with the +5 mod is ACTUALLY only a 260 light scout rifle. The item's true light level is whatever it would be without the +5. So a 273 a +5 is actually a 268.

So, if my scout rifle with NO +5 mod is 265, I can infuse that into the other 265 scout rifle that HAS the +5. That will make it a true 265 rifle, and the +5 mod will bump it up to 270.

This is why its so important to look at every legendary gear you get and keep the ones with +5 mods, and maximize which items you are infusing into others as you go along. Theoretically you could get every gear slot to 270 before ever touching milestones and exotic quests, although that is unlikely.

Once you get to 280 light you can create +5 mods at the weapon vendor.

ALSO make sure if you max out 99,999 glimmer, UNLOAD it all at rhe weapon vendor buyimg the 'random' blue mods for 2500 each so that tou stockpile them to create +5 mods when you hit 280 light.

The only thing about exotics is they always have a +5 mod on them, so their true light level is always 5 below what you see on them. I learned that the hard way when I tried to infuse a exotic INTO a legendary and got zero increase from it.

If only glide wasn't such hot dogshit. Dawnbreak is really fun, truly flying and raining fire, but I wish we could fly higher. I feel like glide only gets me ~10 feet off the ground. I want to be soaring!

Voidwalker is so powerful in the Devour path. It's only a matter of time whether Bungie will nerf it lol
