Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Does anyone know if the Lost Sectors will reset so that we can do them again in the future?

I couldn't find a concrete answer to this when I searched.

Aw shit I did the first two crucible milestones already.

I missed out on legendary gear then...

Do gear power level drops depend on what you have equipped currently?

The only important milestone is the final one in the chain, the one with 'POWERFUL GEAR' as the reward.

Got my first cbaracter to 284 nearly 285 in about 30 hours of play time. Here's my mehod:

Always decrypt legendary and exotic engrams right away. They dont increase in light when you do so if you dont use them they become worthless for light gain.

DO NOT do milestones until you are over 265. They are the best way apart from Nightfall to get gear over 270.

Get to around 250 from blue drops from public events and any engrams you get along the way. Stockpile all the faction rewards turnins during this time.

Once 250 give or take, start dumping your faction rewards turnins one at a time. Check the gear you get against your current gear and wear it if its higher. If your curre t gear DOES have a +5 mod on it and the new gear DOES NOT, infuse the new gear into the current gear to get the highest light possible. This should get you to 265 easily if you stockpiled faction rewards. Try to make sure your energy weapon and power weapon arent exotic due to next step.

If you got any +5 purple weapon/armor mods while turning in faction rewards, put them on any gear slots that dont have one if possible. SEE MY OTHER INFO BELOW THIS LIGHT GUIDE FOR AN EXPLANATION ON MAXIMIZING +5 MODS FOR LIGHT GAIN.

Once 265, do your first exotic primary weapon quest. That will bump you to 267 or higher assuming you have a few 270 pieces already (265 gear with a +5 mod).

NOW do all the milestones. Again, only turn in one at a time and check the rewards against your current gear, making sure to maximize based on any pieces that have the +5 mods. Make sure to join a clan for the clan milestone. Also do a 2nr exotic weapon quest after 1-2 milestones if you didnt get a higher light primary than the 1st exotic.

SAVE your favorite exotic quest for last. I waited to get my mida muti tool until I hit 283 light and it dropped at 293. That is what brough me to the upper half of 284 (and allows me to USE my trusty mida).

Doing this I was able to get to 284, two points shy of 285, on my first character without creating alts to re-do nightfall and whatnot.

Hope this helps someone.

I'm at 265 now, can someone explain to me the whole exotic infusing progression tip I keep reading about?

I don't fully understand what to do.

INFUSION EXPLANATION TO MAXIMIZE GAINS-

First off it doesnt matter if its exotic or not. Any legendary can have the +5 mod too. Exotics are just guaranteed to have one.

Lets say I have two scout rifles. Both are 265 light. One has a +5 mod on it (purple mod on the item detail screen with a 5 on it). The one with the +5 mod is ACTUALLY only a 260 light scout rifle. The item's true light level is whatever it would be without the +5. So a 273 with a +5 is actually a 268.

So, if my scout rifle with NO +5 mod is 265, I can infuse that into the other 265 scout rifle that HAS the +5. That will make it a true 265 rifle, and the +5 mod will bump it up to 270.

This is why its so important to look at every legendary gear you get and keep the ones with +5 mods, and maximize which items you are infusing into others as you go along. Theoretically you could get every gear slot to 270 before ever touching milestones and exotic quests, although that is unlikely.

Once you get to 280 light you can create +5 mods at the weapon vendor.

ALSO make sure if you max out 99,999 glimmer, UNLOAD it all at the weapon vendor by buying the 'random' blue mods for 2500 each so that you stockpile them to create loads of +5 mods when you hit 280 light.

The only thing about exotics is they always have a +5 mod on them, so their true light level is always 5 below what you see on them. I learned that the hard way when I tried to infuse a exotic INTO a legendary and got zero increase from it.

Looking to beat the game tomorrow. I think I'm on the last mission. Game seems like it would be really short if you just mainlined the missions and didn't dick around on the planets.

Liking it though. Locations are better to me than D1. The forest area is just pleasing to the eyes.

Do crucible matches seem like they go on too long to anyone else? A lot of my matches end by timer and not by score count.
The first weekend for the game is really pushing the servers to their limits.
Yeah. I'm kind of impressed though that it hasn't gone completely out. Well, when I;ve been playing anyways.

You go in a circle clockwuse around the map, starting EDZ area, Trostam

You loop the church, I've got a nice loop

I have the Ghost that shows them 30 meters, no scouting report really needed
Pro Tip, if you ADS the map pulls, so the 30 meters gets zoomed in, so you see them earlier

I showed fig, Phateon and Igor the loop, they thought it was really good

You don't do adventures or lost sectors

Only the PTE when it's up, High Value Targets (the Vandal or Servitor), and sometimes help out blueberries with the Enemies move against each other Event.

I kill most stuff, cause they drop Glimmer and chance at Engrams and or materials for the Gunsmith by dropping rare gear

Then trade it in, buy mods, deplete all my resources and repeat

PATROL, FARM, NO SLEEP, REPEAT

So yeah.

On Titan, there's a public event that frequently spawns right by the 2 fast travel points. You can literally just back-to-back them when it's in sync

Reinstalling the game just to see if it won't help with these server connection issues. Not my net, I've tested it, blazing fast. Really dissapointing, barely got to actually play today. Just an exercise in frustration.

I like it. Good impact.

Awesome, glad to hear that it's good!

What did you end up doing for the 'kill 10 strong fallen' part of the quest?
I ended up starting the adventure
Exodus Siege.
Where at one point inside
the cave
about 2 strong servitors spawn (another one appears afterwards), killed them, wiped, and repeated this until the quest portion was finished.

Finally able to play (game was a gift for my kid for getting honor roll all year lol). Going though the campaign and having a blast.

- Sunshot is amazing (actually kind of OP), I cannot see myself finding another gun that I would prefer over it.

- Dawn Blade subclass seems to have made Voidwalker irrelevant. Daybreak seems to be better than Nova Bomb in every single regard. I though one would be the "support" subclass vs 'DPS". Instead it is DPS vs less effective DPS

Only lvl 15 atm and not done the campaign so maybe I'm missing something

Overall great job Bungie

Voidwalker has devour..... try the bottom tree for voidwalker and you'll never get hurt.

Nova bomb > Daybreak for DPS on bosses if you choose the singularity thing so it just sits on them burning them. Also Voidwalker has much more survivability than Dawnblade, so that could play a roll in raids, especially for folks who struggle to stay upright. Overall they both have their uses.

I was a stormcaller the final year of D1 though, who needs survivability skills when ya never die? :-)

I saw that, but they both have the healing rift ability so it seems kind of redundant. There is also another healing ability for Dawnbreaker (diving something...PS4 turned off lol).

I'm not upset about this or anything, I just find it odd

4v4 is such fucking nonsense.

Yeah it's the only real mistake they made with this game. They kind of made the Crucible boring in a way. They went to far with the whole trying to make the crucible E-Sportish. Hope they bring back 6v6 for the people that just want to have fun and enjoy the chaos.

At 266 on my lock. Might call it a night and get back at it full force in the morning to grind out that Nessus exotic. I'm glad grinding for LL isn't boring.

Not quite the same. I can have a whole mob of enemies surround me and never die. Rift can't save you from that. Of course you can double up on both. The devour timer always resets after you kill an enemy no matter how you do it. The rift will die out.

Either way all the subclass in warlock are really good. So you can't go wrong with any of them.

You can use the dive self heal outside of super as well. I use it for spot heals all the time.

Hahahahaha. Amazing.
Lik joined me so that we could tackle Exodus Chase together and finish getting our Sturm (and Drang) exotic, when a buddy of mine joined up for that final fight. Then we proceeded to walk my friend through the steps needed to secure the Rat King exotic quest, and the three of us proceeded to do almost everything required to get that too. We ultimately failed to finish the NF with 5 minutes to spare, but we DID clear it on our first attempt. Was my first Destiny 2 NF clear for sure, and maybe Lik's too.

Good shit. Thanks for the games, Lik and Cujo!

Yea was fun. Would've been a major bummer to lose at the end. Glad we beat NF. It was my first try which was fun. Saved the clip for posterity.

The new NF is interesting. No more team wipes. Whole thing's timed. You CAN eventually resurrect yourself, though that wastes at least 25 seconds per death if you can't get picked up. Killing mobs adds seconds back to the clock. We had 29 seconds to spare, but damnit it, we did it. :D

So... has there been any discussion on the visual design of female titans anywhere? I LOVED their design in D1, slim build, reasonable shoulder armour, and a menu pose that had an insane amount of sass:

fPOCCYp.jpg

ae3565e7b3c0dfc044367ca6968be3b6.gif

But in D2 female titans have a physical build and a menu pose that makes them look like Brienne of Tarth needing to take a dump, but not near a toilet so best try to clench it in. The World of Warcraft sized shoulder armour doesn't help. Comparison of another gaffer's female titan in D1, and after importing to D2:

It's not just the face that went wrong, the entire figure and posture has changed. Am I the only one noticing/bothered by this? I really wanted to play as a sassy slim female titan again, but I might have to roll a warlock this time around just to avoid being a beefcake :( I REALLY hope this is just down to the bulky armour design more than anything, and we'll get lots of slimmer options in the future. I'm worried they want titans to stand out for PVP though and will adhere to this bulky look for the rest of the game.

Even though there's nothing like, crazy OP as Gjallarhorn or Black Hammer in D2, I'm enjoying quite a few of the weapons:

Wardcliff Coil: In terms of how to use it, it reminds me of Shatter on Voidwalker in D1. Might be a little more random but you need to sweep with it to clear an area. Saw someone on Youtube saying it sucked but they weren't even moving the reticule, meanwhile I'm getting Triple Downs with it in Crucible.

Better Devils: Not nearly as good as it was in the beta but it has a new purpose: causing massive amounts of damage to adds. Reminds me of my old explosive rounds Palindrome I used in PvE in D1.

Shock and Awe: With a certain shader I forgot the name of, this gun is literally the Thesan from D1 and I love that it made it back in a way. Thing still melts at a range that shouldn't be possible.

MIDA Mini Tool: Really powerful SMG, almost feels like an AR instead. It's replaced the Veist and Suros ARs I've been using in PvP.

Quickfang: It's really good if a boss gets too close to you and you have another weapon out, just swap to it and it does extra damage. Bonus points for the custom animations that make you look like a classic Battlefront 2 hero.

There's a few more that are in my "like" pile, but I don't really have anything to say about them other than "they're good at being what type they are".

I think I'm also missing D1's increased player count for crucible.

I don't really miss the player counts as I found that was too chaotic but I sure as hell mess the recovery speed.

You recover so slow in this that you have to stick with your teammates at all time because getting tapped even once means you're usually boned in a 1v1.

Merciless is way better than Ghally ever was.

Main reason I choose female titan was the build, if i could have the male hunter build on a titan i would.

Unlike the first game, I haven't gotten a single exotic Power weapon at all.
I got pretty lucky, but I deleted since I didn't need it at the time

Big fucking mistake. I'm gonna have to waste 10 legendary shards in my collections if I wanna use it again lol

I'm a little confused how infusion works. I have an exotic arm piece at only level 100 (acd/0) . I keep getting blues with higher levels but I love it's look and it's bonuses.

Can I infuse it to be a higher level and how to I obtain legendary shards to infuse it . Can you infuse it to max level ?

That part of the game confuses me abit, am I best waiting until I am a high level (aroun 190 ATM )

So my Insanity Patrol Loop Final Results;

8.5 Hours total. 100,000 Total Glimmer Earned, 410 EDZ Tokens (Exactly 20 Rank Packages), 96 Dusk Light Shards, 12 Dusklight Shards (Rare), 250 Gunsmith Materials, 5 Legendary Engrams.

Went from Level 1 to 20, Power Level 10 to 265
All my Blue Gear us @263 cap, which is hella weird, I'm guessing my Warlock ring high is benefitting it.

I'm on Mission #3 of the campaign by the way. All sub-classes unlocked, now all that XP I'll earn in Campaign translates to free Bright Engrams...

Gonna do my Hunter same way. All those other Power Leveling guides are nice, but my method destroys those!
You earn so many different things and then when you do campaign it's really worth it for now that you're in the bonus for those Bright Engrams.

Get those 5 Legendary Engrams to decrypt and 20 packages to get and earn a fully Legendary set hopefully from Devrim. Hope some come with Legendary +5 mod bonuses installed.

I must be doing something wrong. I can't find any patrols on my level 7 titan
