He chastises Sarah Silverman and Jennifer Lawrence for connecting recent hurricanes and wildfires to climate change and suggesting that we vote for a government that accepts science.

He's really mocking and indignant about it too. He really does look like the worst kind of Trump supporter/climate change denier. No logic, just pure mockery.

The asshole, PewDiePie, takes it out of context and makes it sound like she meant that HURRICANES ARE TRUMP'S FAULT AND OHMYGOD HOW STUPID IS SHE TO THINK THAT MOTHER NATURE WOULD BE PISSED FOR PEOPLE VOTING FOR TRUMP CAUSING HURRICANES JUMPCUTTOMYSTUPIDFUCKINGFACE...

He completely misses the point that people voting for a climate change denier are in fact a problem and that it's meant symbolically. Like, the hurricanes are getting more powerful, and climate change is a fucking problem.

It's seriously hard to watch.
 
I'm really surprised to see everyone go crazy over this one incident when he has a track record of saying shit like this all the time. He's been saying racist, homophobic and sexist insults for years now. That's his brand, and his subscribers won't even flinch. It's all incredibly sad

That doesn't make okay! That doesn't mean we shouldn't call people out when they do it, especially if they have any influence over children. How many racist do you think go to church? Run youth football leagues? Volunteer at charities? By your criterion we should just keep quiet when they make racists jokes because they're overall "well-meaning".. Never mind the kids who have to hear this stuff and get to internalize that someone they trusts believe awful stereotypes about them or have no issue spreading those stereotypes amongst their friends.

Have you told your friends to stop saying that? Because if it's unwelcome, than it's not really a joke and they shouldn't be doing it. If they keep doing it, they're not good friends. That has nothing to do with the use of other slurs.

Obviously I'm not talking about every white person on planet earth but just like you said you've heard people use it when they've felt comfortable. I can't bring myself to be surprised by casual n word usage in a setting where people feel comfortable that's all I'm saying. Him slipping up that badly on a live stream is more surprising.

There's a fine line between using such humor with a friend who thinks it's ok or have gotten used to it, and turning around and using it for Jewish people in general.

I'm not saying it doesn't matter, I'm not saying it shouldn't be called out, I'm not saying that PDP isn't a racist piece of shit. I just think it's interesting how much his Jewish humor aligns with otherwise woke people IRL. Pretty much every mildly online dude I know also thought it was funny as shit when Hitler Did Nothing Wrong was the Mountain Dew fan flavor winner.

I never thought I'd live in a world where the phrase "what a fucking nigger" is considered not racist. Like, there wasn't even a hint of regret in his voice. The fact his audience ranges from not seeing a problem to encouraging that behavior is even more disconcerting.
