PewDiePie "What a f***ing n*****." out of frustration when his teammate dies.

He's just one of many bands, of the hurricane of racism that's ripping through America and most of the west. Yeah it doesn't start or stop with cunts like Pewdis. But it sure as fuck doesn't get better,

There is a big difference between me saying that it doesn't sound racist, to a non native speaker, to saying that using it as Pewdiepie did isn't for someone who is a native speaker, i understand that the word is offensive to most native english speakers and especially americans, but that doesn't take from the fact that lots lof people that speak english don't hold the word in the same way so it's not a big deal for them.

Yeah, the dude fucked up and probably offended part of his audience (again) i just don't agree that it makes him a racist.

He lives in the UK. In Brighton no less. He knows exactly what it means.

To me, a south american non native english speaker, someone saying "nigger" doesn't even sounds racist...and you know? we also have all colors of skin over here but racism is just not expressed in the same way nor the words hold the same impact, so it seems pretty silly to call this guy a racist for saying it and then regreting it the second he said it.

Although at this point, pointing out all the ways in wich this guy can be a "lowkey" racist as it's being called here, seems almost like a runing joke.

You are ignorant and that's ok as long as you are open to learning. If you are proudly ignorant and think you are above racism, then you are an idiot.

What a cunt. I was in his corner with the last controversy because I legitimately thought he was just trying to be edgy and was too thick to understand what he was doing.

What a total fuckin prick.

Sorry to everybody for the fact I stood by this price of shit. Feel sick, feel like a fool.

Don't
excuse my native English

The only conclusion I can draw from posts like these is that you've said the word in private amongst non native speakers and don't want to feel indicted.

People wouldn't use slurs as a means of insult if they didn't know what it meant.

Pewdiepie has gotten into enough shit at this point that he should no longer be considered just your average foreigner who is ignorant to US culture. He knows better, he just doesn't care.

You're going to feel even worse when you get woke shamed for saying cunt.

A word that is NOT in my native lenguaje doesn't hold the same weight as the actual translation of it. Pewdiepie slipping the word doesn't mean that for him it holds the same wieight, but yeah whatever, read whatever you want.

Jfc. Was he using the word to praise someone for their accomplishments? Explain the context of him using that word in a non-derogatory manner, please.

This guy made a joke about "Death to all Jews", dresses up in a SS uniform for laughs, uses the "Hitler did nothing wrong" meme and sells T-Shirts with the logo "context" on it while he is "doing" the hitler beard...

My parents who only use internet for Amazon or eBay know what the n word means. In the same way I could say "spic" to you and just say "Well. We in Germany dont use it that way. We dont use it at all. Its just fun!"

You're one of those 'racism doesn't really exist' dudes, aren't you? Doubling down here saying that as long as he says racist shit to people who choose not to believe it's real racist language means he's not still being racist. He's using words meant to demean an entire group of people in one of the most universally recognized ways possible, but no, he's showing no racism here.

You're coming across as a real dummy here.

The whole idea that "it's cool, he probably just learned it from rap as a foreigner!" is so bizarre. It's not like he went up to someone and said "What's up my ------!" thinking it just means friend. He's clearly using it in a negative way. Theres only one negative way to use it.

A word that is NOT in my native lenguaje doesn't hold the same weight as the actual translation of it. Pewdie slipping the word doesn't mean that for him it holds the same wieight, but yeah whatever, read whatever you want.

Many of his friends are American! Calling someone an infidel doesn't hold the same weight in America as it does in like rural Pakistan but I'm self-aware enough to know not use it when I don't need to.

You don't have to be a genius to figure out how to act in other cultural contexts. If I, a broke college student, can figure it then I'm sure Pewd's with his millions can do it to. Your excuses are shit.

Where do these keep coming from?
Why would you do this?

Honestly, what does this distinction matter?

He's a consistently shitty dude who consistently says and does shitty things.

Maybe there's some glitch and half the people clicking the YouTube link are being sent to a video of Rush Hour instead.

It is another in a long pattern of his racism. Shit didn't happen in a vacuum

You are an intellectual event horizon from which no logic can escape

He clearly knows the severity of the word or else he wouldn't have used it as an insult. Also he clearly knew he fucked up right afterwards and his only defense was that he forgot he was streaming.

It's pretty clear that he's a fucking racist even if you ignore the other shit he's done.

But he was speaking english the entire time, and obviously using the english definition for it. Just admit you were wrong and move on

So dressing up in a SS uniform, doing a "Death to all Jews" joke (or "social experiment), using Hitler did nothing wrong Memes and selling a T-shirt with a hitler beard and "context" doesnt make him a racist...

This is not about you. This is about an international superstar who has been down this road before. There is no way on this earth he does not understand the weight of what he said. He speaks English. He games in English. He performs for a majority audience who absolutely understands that word.

At this point, you should change your avatar so it would say "Racists Defense Force" instead of "Shenmue Defense Force".

EDIT: And goodbye.

I know you're banned, but it must still be said this has to be one of the stupidest posts made this year.

What's up with Europeans constantly claiming to not know anything about racism? You don't know that nigger is a racial slur? It's bullshit.

They're too busy pretending to not be racist.

Also, what is with people bringing up the United States when PewDie doesn't even live there nor is he an American.

What a cunt. I was in his corner with the last controversy because I legitimately thought he was just trying to be edgy and was too thick to understand what he was doing.

This is good. We need more people to realize that defending online personalities with racist Freudian slips or worse is shitty and never worth it especially if they don't immediately apologize.

Lurking juniors out there, take notes--if you like to play devil's advocate for these types, stop. Don't learn this the hard way.

A word that is NOT in my native lenguaje doesn't hold the same weight as the actual translation of it. Pewdiepie slipping the word doesn't mean that for him it holds the same wieight, but yeah whatever, read whatever you want.

It held enough weight for him to know that he wasn't supposed to say it, and if he knew he wasn't supposed to say it, he knew why he wasn't supposed to say it.

Y'all told me the OT side would be better about this than the gaming side dammit

Wait, does this mean there's another thread about this on gaming side?
/checks
Oh my...
Video games were a mistake.

Racism apologizing alive and well. Hard to feel more jaded with 2017 when suckas are arguing about whether "What a f****** n*****" is racist. Fuck outta here man.

I just assume white people casually drop N bombs when black people aren't around so I'm not surprised by him saying that. I'm mildly intrigued by his lapse of judgement to say that on a live stream while people are watching him like a hawk because of his past shitty behavior.

He didn't regret it for a second.

The lols and the game were more important than the half assed apology. Plus the immediate substitution didn't help.

"What a cracker, sorry, giant asshole".

So crackers and giant assholes are inter changeable, got it.

So dressing up in a SS uniform, doing a "Death to all Jews" joke (or "social experiment), using Hitler did nothing wrong Memes and selling a T-shirt with a hitler beard and "context" doesnt make him a racist...

I actually kinda don't think the Jew stuff was rooted in "actual racism", Jew jokes are still not completely taboo in mainstream humor, it's not surprising to me that a fringe guy would take it to that level.

Haha, wow - so, just how many racism-enablers will this thread pull in? Pretty amazed at the "it's his 2nd language" defense. "He doesn't know what it means!"

i am aware of who he is but it felt like he was only being partly affected by the previous racist acts... this is more blatant and i hope the blowback is bigger

i just watched a 10 year old public speaking competition and being a youtube star was mentioned in two or three of the jobs the students wanted to have in the future... fuck this guy

What a piece of shit. Clearly a bigot, and I dont wanna hear the excuse that he didnt know what he was saying. He tried to censor himself and change the word afterward after realizing what he said. You dont just spout a word you never use when angry. It's in his vocabulary and none of this shit should be surprising at this point.

If this was a one-time thing, it would be horrible enough. If he apologized, learned from his mistakes and accepted the responsibility that comes along with his fame, I think we'd be more forgiving... Instead, he doubles down. I live in Sweden, I was raised here, saying the n-word WILL get you in fucking trouble. Felix absolutely knows this.
