Dunno, it just felt... way too much on the nose. I mean it had all the Gator dogwhistles nicely lined up, and Gators don't dump all of those out in the open air nowadays unless they feel in a safe space. And GAF is definitely not a safe space for Gators and their shit.
The only accident was that he forgot that he was live streaming. Him and whoever that British guy was proceed to play it off like it was no big deal to anyone other than those who get off on being offended.

This casual, subconscious hatred is a clue about why it's so hard to get people to care enough to actually change the social conditions that have been levied against black people in the west.
We need outage against racist comments in every news story and youtube video that in any way relates to black people. We need the media to see what anyway not blind or willfully dumb sees and hears when anonymous assholes meet the internet. We need outrage at racists in our online games that think offense is hilarious when directed at disadvantaged people that come from a background nothing like their own. We need outrage at pewdiepie. Let his image burn in effigy of all the casual hatred the anonymity of the internet should make so apparent to anyone willing to look and listen.

nahhh don't try to drag max into this. Max was rhyming for like 5 hours and said a bunch of nonsensical stuff like "schlimmer slammer," and he slipped up. And yea, he promptly apologized.
Pewdiepie said (after all of his previous history) "What a fucking nigger" with conviction and knowledge of what he was saying. It's like night and day.
Basically. I don't know about you guys but I've never called anyone a fucking nigger by accident before and I never will. Accident implies it's something he says automatically, which isn't an excuse anyway!

There was a huge difference between what PDP did now vs what Maximilian did. His was where he was saying words that rhymed (chigger chagger n***** dagger) and accidentally said it, didn't realize what he said, and in the context of what he said it didn't really make sense other than it rhyming.
The above would sound like a horrible defense, but the thing was he apologized on GAF for it, said that he should not have said it, and explained how he didn't realize what he said until the next morning when everyone was pointing it out. Most people accepted his apology, and rightfully so IMO.
PDP's was a deliberate "fucking n****" and not in a context where he could have stumble into saying that.

I felt confusion due to its blatancy. I've stopped believing in sarcasm nearly 10 years ago, so I have no idea whether an opinion is earnest or sarcastic unless marked as such, but people keep forgetting to mark their lolposts as sarcasm.

Yes, what he does next is critical. An apology is a must, even if people cant forgive him. Him not apologizing has a profound affect on his viewers.
He said it, and it's done. But what happens next is more critical. Either he can try to do some moral repair, or do damage by creating thousands upon thousands of his young fans taking up his cause for him. This results in them getting into arguments they dont understand, which results in their developing of resentment towards race issues.

Why would come to this guy's defense? It's a Youtuber who certainly doesn't need your support, and he did something so transparently racist that LAST time he did something transparently racist people said shit like "at least he doesn't say the n word". And two people?
