It seems Bungie have implemented a same class lockout on "powerful gear" rewards. The exotic I received from Zavala after the campaign was still scaled so I guess it wasn't a total waste.

Random question, what are the requirements for a piece of gear being used in an infusion? I have an exotic pants ("Lucky Pants") which are now deeply underleveled but no other pants since then have shown up on that items list of potential infuse sacrifices.

The post linked in the OP is wrong (not the ideal way). It tells you to use token rewards early on and start your final stuff at 260. Better to save tokens and use them to go from 250 to 265 fast and THEN do the final stuff. See my posts below. Reposting yet again....

The only important milestone is the final one in the chain, the one with 'POWERFUL GEAR' as the reward.





INFUSION EXPLANATION TO MAXIMIZE GAINS-

First off it doesnt matter if its exotic or not. Any legendary can have the +5 mod too. Exotics are just guaranteed to have one.

Lets say I have two scout rifles. Both are 265 light. One has a +5 mod on it (purple mod on the item detail screen with a 5 on it). The one with the +5 mod is ACTUALLY only a 260 light scout rifle. The item's true light level is whatever it would be without the +5. So a 273 with a +5 is actually a 268.

So, if my scout rifle with NO +5 mod is 265, I can infuse that into the other 265 scout rifle that HAS the +5. That will make it a true 265 rifle, and the +5 mod will bump it up to 270.

This is why its so important to look at every legendary gear you get and keep the ones with +5 mods, and maximize which items you are infusing into others as you go along. Theoretically you could get every gear slot to 270 before ever touching milestones and exotic quests, although that is unlikely.

Once you get to 280 light you can create +5 mods at the weapon vendor.

ALSO make sure if you max out 99,999 glimmer, UNLOAD it all at the weapon vendor by buying the 'random' blue mods for 2500 each so that you stockpile them to create loads of +5 mods when you hit 280 light.


The only thing about exotics is they always have a +5 mod on them, so their true light level is always 5 below what you see on them. I learned that the hard way when I tried to infuse a exotic INTO a legendary and got zero increase from it.

To go back to my last question though, milestones reset on Tuesday? so at this point knowing I'm not going to massively increase in light level due to work and such should I just complete them so they don't go to waste?

Help: Like an idiot I deleted my legendary sword from the digital deluxe edition and can't seem to find a way to restore it (save potentially redoing the campaign over which I won't be doing for a bit). Someone mentioned collections earlier on but there's no sign of it in there. Got the names between the two legendaries in my inventory mixed up when trashing things for legendary marks. Needless to say I locked down everything else after that (rookie error).

Anyone have any idea on how/if it might be restored?
Not the end of the world if it is just the end of the campaign, just curious if there's another way. Will be raising my second character in a week or two.

I thought as much. I just hope that it gets gifted to a second character after completing the campaign. Don't think it's a drop anywhere else. Just thought there might be a way to pick them back up – I'm sure there was a way for some of the legendary exclusives in D1 but I could be misremembering and confusing them for the exotic class marks.

If you have lets say a Level 155 shotgun you can bring it to level 255 by infusing a level 255 shotgun into it. The item will be consumed, you also have to pay some legendary shards and glimmer.

With this you can bring your low level exotics and legendarys to your current level. All you need is an item from the same type, glimmer and legendary shards. You get legendary shardy by dismantling legendary items.

Everything is so fluid and each patrol zone of the world is bloody marvelous to explore.

Yeah for sure. Wait as long as you can, but definitely complete the milestones before they reset on Tuesday so you dont let them go to waste. Just make it the last thing you do.

Pretty much! Unless you're hankering to climb as high as possible, it's not necessary to wait. Just do it and enjoy the reset.

Infusing is a way of raising the level of a piece of gear. So for an example, you have a Legendary weapon that you really like, at say 200 Attack. Then, you come across a different Legendary weapon that drops at 210 Attack, but you prefer using the older, weaker weapon.

You can "Infuse" the 200 Attack weapon with the 210 one, destroying the 210 in the process BUT increasing the 200 one up to 210. Make sense?

Where mods come in, is Legendary mods offer a +5 Attack (or +5 Defense for armor).

So let's say you have two weapons at 210. One has a Legendary Mod on it, so it's actually a BASE attack of 205. By infusing the 210 into the 205, you'll end up with a base attack of 210, plus the mod on top, so 215.

My current favorite combo. So glad I got the ornament for MIDA. It changes the scope to blue instead of screen so it makes it easier to tell the difference between MIDA and MINI at a glance when switching a lot.

is it worth going for the deluxe version for PC? it's £20 more expensive but the only difference i can see is that it "Includes a Legendary sword, Legendary Player Emote, and a Cabal Empire Themed Emblem"

if that's all it offers for the extra £20 i think i'll leave it. i'm not interested in the emote/emblem so the sword would need to be pretty damn awesome. still thought i'd be pissed if i paid that £20 and it dropped for me in game in addition to the guaranteed one lol.

Using NF to determine raid base level is a inaccurate. I did the exact same thing when ROI came out with 340 NF, and I thought raid would be 360 that "who would even be able to play the raid if it's higher since no one is at that Light Level?". Then raid came out at 370 recommended LL and NF was raised to 360LL that same day. First area was 360LL, Vosik was 370LL, and rest of the raid was 380LL.

This is what's going to happen this time as well. Getting to 260 Power Level is extremely easy, even blue gear gets you there, and vendor gear takes you to 265. Raid is going to be above these two easily. The other thing to keep in mind is that the Power Level cap is at 350, which is where the prestige version will be around, you won't get a normal mode raid at 260-270 when the prestige version is near 350 that's a gap of almost 100 power level.

Yeah there is absolutely no way the normal raid will be 260-270, that's too easily obtainable in terms of grind difficulty. I'm expecting the raid to be 290.

I think Bungie mentioned around 50% of the playerbase experienced the raid and they'd like for more to do it, makes we wonder if they will release an easier version with blue drops (at the max 268 light) or maybe this is where the guided games will become available, who knows.

Wish I could be enjoying this with the rest of everyone. First Bungie game since Halo, when I starting playing their games, where I don't find it fun to play (for reasons I outlined in the beta thread and earlier). I keep trying and it's pretty clear that despite my love for the first game, that's not going to carry over here. I'm kind of gutted and deeply confused at the praise.

It's the opposite of Destiny 1, where they nailed the gameplay but the content needed work (which it got). Here the content is clearly a huge step up, but the game is just flat and un-engaging (poor audio, visual feedback on weapons and enemies, movement feels sluggish). I didn't have a plan B game lined up for the fall, so I'm not sure what else to look for. :\

I really didn't like anything but the hand cannon in the beta but things sound and feel punchier in the retail version to me. Much more along the lines of D1. As far as visual feedback it doesn't feel that different to me from D1. Anyway so far I'm enjoying it more than the beta for sure.

Complete public events, crucible, or strikes and pray. Lost sectors might have a chance at them in the loot box too, I dunno.

any, but the drop rate is rather low.

The item has a followup, and it's rather cryptic - i don't think anyone knows how to complete it yet.
So maybe not waste your time with that quest yet.

I genuinely thought I'd be burned out on the Hive after the Dreadnaught and TDB but I feel everything about the way they're presented in D2 is far more impactful.

Agreed. I love Titan. Love that kind of Sci Fi location. Looks similar to the recent Prey as well. Io is my least favourite so far, visited it the least, which isn't saying much considering I've barely left the EDZ, will spend more time with it but I agree it's far too similar to Venus.

Im pretty sure the planet challenges are daily. I wish they rewarded just a little bit more though.
