Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

End credits rolling. Hats off to Bungie, I played D1 at launch and this is night and day, a massive step up from the first game. Now for the strikes and stuff!

Do those blue markers (quest triggers) on the Director map reset weekly or are they a one off thing?

I'm lvl 230 and I'm wondering if I should do those before reset or hold off until I'm higher level

They're one off per character and 3 of them has exotic quests, so hold off until you're higher level

I am. What does that have to do with anything? I do fly around shoulder charging bosses and melee'ing them and using my up close ults on them, but that's fine as you have good mobility and still do more damage than with the shotguns.

That's fine, continue as you were. You seemed to imply that bosses were too risky to approach in close quarters, which is not what I want to hear from someone that studied under Saladin, Shaxx and Zavala! Punch through everything.

Are legendary public events different from heroic public events? I don’t think I’ve seen one of those yet.
I'm guessing he means heroics.

Though I appreciate all the replies. I'll probably run around the EDZ after I finish my crucible powerful engram quest.

Ok I got the Sweet Business auto rifle(machine gun) and it is super sweet indeed!

What is the best way to farm from exotics? Stuck at 273 right now. Farmed like 8 events last night but only got legendaries.

Wish I could be enjoying this with the rest of everyone. First Bungie game since Halo, when I starting playing their games, where I don't find it fun to play (for reasons I outlined in the beta thread and earlier). I keep trying and it's pretty clear that despite my love for the first game, that's not going to carry over here. I'm kind of gutted and deeply confused at the praise.

It's the opposite of Destiny 1, where they nailed the gameplay but the content needed work (which it got). Here the content is clearly a huge step up, but the game is just flat and un-engaging (poor audio, visual feedback on weapons and enemies, movement feels sluggish). I didn't have a plan B game lined up for the fall, so I'm not sure what else to look for. :\

Oh no! I'm glad to say I find the gameplay just as fun (though it really took until I unlocked Nightstalker.)

Heroic Public Events and Crucible, unfortunately.

PvP still shit.

Gotta grind away to see if I can get close to 290 after work.

Doubt that I'll go through the whole make another char thing.

Is 280 still the recommended level to hit for the raid or are people trying even higher? I'm currently 282, and assume after reset tomorrow o could likely gain a few more levels before the raid.

I know higher is better, but it seems like diminishing returns now. I am not interested in creating a duplicate class, but have already started a 2nd character of a different class.

No one knows what the recommended light is for raid but everyone is trying to go as high as possible. 280+ seems to be the general consensus.

I'm guessing that will be fine, possibly even a bit lower because you will be gaining light levels after drops from each encounter as the raid progresses.

Game is amazing, never played Destiny but this shit is bonkers, gonna sink hundreds of hours into it for sure.

Exotic weapon question: What do I do with dupes? I have 2 of the Morfcoil Rocket Launchers, one is level 229 and the other 237. I’m 231 myself. Do I just dismantle for shards or is there another use I’m missing?

Was dissapointed in the drop at first but in use the weapon is fucking amazing for clearing adds. Probably won’t be my primary exotic when I have a good rifle, but so far it’s been working really well, especially on public events.

One thing I've noticed is the game is FAR more lenient on the disparity between recommended power levels and the players level than it was in D1.

I solo'd the two parts of ENHANCE for the MIDA (because I am a moron) at ~220 Power. Recommended Power Level was 260.

People have done the Prestige Nightfall at 282, 283, and 286 (the group I saw). Recommended was 300.

If 280 is about what you need for the raid then what level is the earliest I should consider going for the nightfall?

I beat it at 260 with two Gaffers who were 270+. So if you're 260+ with guys who can alternate with burns, it should be doable.

Infuse I think. If you have a piece you like but it is weak compared to your current level then use a more powerful piece for infusion. That way you get to "level up" that piece you like.

250 but experienced at Destiny out of the question? Was wondering whether to try and give it a shot with a couple of Gaffers this evening before reset tomorrow.

We did it last night with 249 270 and 271, none of us had ran it before

But isn’t that based on the light level? Like the 237 one I’m for sure going to infuse when I get a more powerful rare/legendary rocket launcher. But my duplicate is only 229 which I’m blowing past, so isn’t there no use in infusing it? Unless I’m missing something and fusing an exotic weapon itself into ANOTHER weapon has a benefit I’m not realizing.

A team with three 250's might have a tough time. If you're with other higher LL's, you'll be fine.

I definitely think the audio is a step down, but the visual feedback for kills is still super satisfying to me. Ah well.

If you want another game for September, look into buying M E T R O I D on 3DS

Nightfall recommended level is 240 I think, anyone 260 or above should be able to beat it with enough tries. The harder one (prestige) is a different ballgame though, you need to have weapons and class that cover all elements.

We beat the nightfall with like a 233 and two 270s

As long as you know the mechanics/you have some elemental diversity/you know which parts to just run for your life for, it is the perfect amount of challenge

oh man , that exotic fusion rifle that decreases the charge time if you hit a non-fatal shot, after a few shots, it fires like a scout rifle

too bad it has only 6 shots in the magazine
