I expect a healthy amount of Japanese 3rd party Switch announcements.

Animal crossing mobile is supposed to come out in 2017. And to connect to some AC game on gaming systems. Only 3 months and a half left, so my guess is they will reveal it alongside the new mainline game.

Japanese page confirmed that there will be no mobile info on this Direct.

I can't see the gif.

They've already stated that there will be no talk of mobile games. I'm almost 100% willing to bet that AC mobile is delayed in favor of something like Zelda for this year. It just fits better in the "Spring" slot they somewhat established when they launched FE Heroes this year.

They've already said there will be no mobile announcements during this direct

But also Apple's iPhone X announcement is tomorrow, so...

99% of people who bought Splatoon 2 bought it for the online experience. The argument that online games don't work on the Switch because you can take it with you doesn't make any sense.

It does make sense because knowing how Nintendo operates, I am confident there is a clause in Nintendo's cert process that requires that the game works both online and offline because of the portability of the system.

Yeah this is what I'm hoping for. Apple Keynote is tomorrow as well.

apparently someone on /v/ leaked the direct date/details of the event yesterday. Skimmed the thread and didnt see anyone mention it. Looks hella disappointing

That is a long Direct, I am officially hyped.
Expecting Xeno 2 date and some custom Mario Odyssey pro controller.

I would love a peek of the new Fire Emblem, as a way of enticing people to buy FE Warriors.

And of course new info on The Champion's Ballad.

Again, there is an MMO confirmed for release, and soon too. I don't believe it has any offline content.

Also, I really hope there isn't too much time spent on 3DS here. I mean, seriously, it's time to start pushing Switch %100. I know they'll have to show a bit of Metroid, but other than that, I really want the focus to be on Switch.

With Mario coming in October Nintendo must have another big holiday title. Right?

Mario is that big holiday title. Even though it launches before Black Friday it's still going to get the main push for then. I think if they have anything else for the year it'll be a remaster or a smaller title. I think we've seen the whole picture for their AAA lineup.

Does anyone think there will be new announcements here bigger than downloadable eShop games? Because i'm a bit skeptical. Seems like this Direct will only serve the purpose of driving up hype for the holiday.

That's a long direct. I imagine they'll be showing off stuff outside of software as well. Also the timing on these always sucks for me, 3pm on a Wednesday? :(

I keep thinking of Odyssey as a Holiday title but, damn, it's just a month and a half away! So this is their last real chance to spotlight it, unless they do a dedicated direct closer to release. Should get some good details either way.

What are they going to talk about on the direct for so long then?

THat would be somewhat disappointing if true. Hooray for Fallout though.

What I really want even more than games is Nintendo to address online and voice chat. Anyone think they could do this?
