Looking forward to this Direct, it's been a while. Wish it was all focused on the Switch because god damn I can't believe it's almost 2018 and Nintendo keeps treating the 3DS as a marvelous thing that everyone should buy. Hope at least they announce a megaton surprise title for the hyper outdated handheld ala Metroid Samus Returns.

It does make sense because knowing how Nintendo operates, I am confident there is a clause in Nintendo's cert process that requires that the game works both online and offline because of the portability of the system.

This wouldn't explain DQX getting a Switch version.

If they announce Fallout 4 this week I am almost definitely skipping Skyrim and waiting for Fallout 4. Skyrim definitely isn't going to be getting play over Mario, Xenoblade, the sports games, Stardew etc. (not to mention the stuff I'm going to buy on PS4) in my lineup this holiday season. Skyrim was always a "maybe" anyways seeing as how I've never played it, but I'd rather wait for a more modern Bethesda game that I've also never played.

FO4 on Switch has been a heavily circulated rumor recently. IIRC there's a retail listing for it somewhere and Jason Schreier implied that Bethesda's next announcement is going to be a port.

Which is part of why I'm a little skeptical of this rumor despite its plausibility. It's too safe.
