Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Wanna see a dead body?

3 was an execution for 2.

Reach also successfully converted most of the Halo 3 playerbase over.

I think it's the fact that Bungie makes sequels that tend to improve A LOT. Destiny 2 is everything I wanted from Destiny and more - loot everywhere. Only the PVP makes me frown a little.

I'm curious, I know I'd be all over this but, if they updated the Destiny settings for the new game, with everything D2 has; Adventures, Lost Sectors, etc, would you be all over that or would you complain that it's not really "new" material?

Remind me... was SIVA mentioned in Destiny 2?

Is it something that will remain contained in the Cosmodrome/Plaguelands?

I remember scanning a terminal and ghost mentions something about SIVA. I love how the lore and more story bits are scattered throughout the world, but it's a mission in itself to find these things.

People would complain about re-used material, and kinda going off how many people were actually in the redone area of Old Russia vs the New Area in Rise of Iron, remixing old areas doesn't seem like a good use of their time.

Should probably wait until it'll be an actual nostalgia hit in D3 or D4. Distance grows fondness.

I want to like Failsafe, but she reminds me too much of Warframe's Ordis and his malfunctioning personality.

Bungie has had a malfunctioning AI in all their shooter franchises so far, lol

I honestly cant imagine them not adding in all the old sectors updated with the new "stuff". I mean it's all right there for them. Hell, i'd rather have all that updated with all the old strikes thrown into D2 than an expansion already in December.

Remember how cool we all thought Destiny was going to be as a 10 year game with new stuff constantly added. Everything was supposed to grow while allowing us to play all the previous content. Major bummer that's not looking like it's going to happen. Would be amazing if all of D1 was integrated into D2 with all of D2s updates.

Not the biggest failsafe fan. It feels like a less awesome Gladdos from Portal. (Who, IMO was infinently better written).

Kinda funny when Ghost and Failsafe are arguing though.

Asher Mir is secretly the best character. He irritated me initially but as he starts to lose his shit it's quite funny.

What are peoples thoughts on the exotic: Sweet Business?

Ive been enjoying it in PVE so far.
I used it in the beta and really liked it, in PvP too. Haven't had it drop since launch.

I did wonder about the
shadows that you see at the end of the game, as they were geometrically similar to a lot of what we saw with the SIVA stuff in ROI
. <<< end of story mini-spoiler.

What time does the raid unlock on Wed. again?
Wednesday + 48 hours. :p

I know the game is still in the honeymoon phase, but I really feel like simplifying weapon drops/perks is going to hurt the replay value a LOT in the long run.

I didn't expect them to go full Warframe with weapons/mods, as Destiny's game systems have always been designed for kids to understand, but...they could have gone maybe 20% there.

Interested to see how people will be feeling a month from now, especially with the rate this community consumes content.

PVP feels great to me, it's what I would expect from the studio that made Halo.

What they need is something like BTB in Halo for people who want unbalanced craziness.

Its not even close to the Warfram modding system.

Right now I'm more annoyed that I feel rushed to prepare for the launch of the raid than anything else. It should have been a month after launch (though I'm sure others will disagree) to allow people to consume what's already there and level naturally.

Please Number45......
It unlocks Friday doesn't it? oO

In theory they should be able to turn on the mayhem modifiers for some of the modes and that should take care of the chaos angle.

I'm really struggling in the early 270s (currently 273) - have been stuck here for a couple of days now.

I've done all the weekly lock-out events, completed my daily milestone challenges, run some heroic public events and strikes and I just keep getting 265 legendaries that don't really help me. I have had a few exotic weapon drops but I'm actually good on that side - I really need better legendary or exotic drops on the armour side. All my slots bar one (at 265) are at 270 or above, including one at 286.

That 265 is massively holding me back... Really not sure how to proceed to get nearer to 280 and raid ready.

Any tips welcome!

Well, yeah...that's what I said.

I'd never expect it to be anywhere close to that, but it seems like they went to far simplifying everything on the weapons side. Would be shocked if it doesn't hurt the replay value.

Got it last night and love it. The thing is like a laser when you get it going, really great at CC and bosses, at least in the small amount of time I used it. Kept yelling SWEET BUSINESS while unloading 100+ (with titan rally wall) into aliens heads.

Also got the Vigilance Wing and really liking that so far too. Super stable and fast, good damage on it too with the 5 round burst.

To be honest, I played Warframe for some times and I still can't figure how mods are working in this game.

I don't know if it's the UI or the system itself, but it's quite complicated to understand. Bungie always had a good way to go when simplifying stuff for their games, D2 did this really well (even if it may hurts replayability in the end).

Since weapons have fixed perks now, I'm curious if people will play the game longer than D1, since hardcore fans were always chasing the perfect roll and it's not possible anymore.

Hopefully we get weapons with more mod slots in the future, and perhaps mods that specifically synergise with each other (and maybe other weapons' mods too) like what we've seen with the quest exotics?

Holding you back from what? If the raid is like all the other Destiny raids, I would guess that the raid will be 260 light. I dunno why people are trying so hard to get to 300 now.

Warframe modding is a game in the game, it was very cool, but a little too much IMO for new players

What I don't like and I'm glad they got rid of that in Destiny, is that you have to farm to obtain the weapon, and farm even more to level and enjoy it. Fuck this.

4v4, very slow gameplay compared to D1, don't like the maps, matchmaking sucks, matches take to long because they always go the entire time.

D1 was fast gameplay like COD. They made D2 a lot slower pace and team oriented to try to get into esports and please streamers.

Whoa whoa whoa, stop the clock. D1 was certainly nothing like COD.

It is quite complicated, which is why so many people like it and enjoy the min/max character/weapon building.

I'd never expect to see a system that deep in Destiny, since it needs to appeal to a broader audience, I just feel like they went too far in the other direction.

This is exactly what I was looking for - the system doesn't have to be as intricate as Warframe's, but it would be awesome to see and something players would be eager to chase after and customize with.

Try-hards, mostly.

I'm only at 261 myself, but I'm still trying to boost higher in preparation for the raid.

Speaking of which, is there a way to get a clan invite and do the Nightfall today? I'd love to get a recording of that for my review.

PSN: DarkParodius

Really? I've gotten 3 of them and just want the Coil :pensive:
Yeah it's good. It's a boss destroyer. Each time the boss take a hit and dousnt the die it charges faster until all you have to do is press the button.

And deft coil is right there with it. Destroys mobs. I pair these two together.

Race is going to be Vex (it's Leviathan and fits their naming scheme the most).
I don't know about the rest because I've never raided Destiny before.
Edit : though everyone saying Cabal is making me think I've missed some info.

Play some adventures on Nessus, there is a big ol hint.

The Engrams tell me that SB is already part of my collection but I don't have it.

Which public quests are people doing? Only one that I can find people doing is the spider tank on titan near Sloane. Haven't found another one with reliable groups so far.

No ways it's 260

For ROI, if I remember correctly, raid light requirement and NF requirement were the same. What's changing so drastically this time? I can't see it being 270 to start; that would mean that we are required to have exotic weapons/armor to reach above 265, since legendaries are capped at 265 (until you get far enough above it).

Yeah, as far as grinding for the "god-roll" of a gun. I think Bungie can control the meta a bit more with this decision. Other than the truly obsessive players, grinding for a god-roll of a gun was a bit much IMO.
