This isn't true. Base Blue and Purple power level will go up when you get to higher power. I'm at 271 and my blues drop at 264. It doesn't matter how much you rank up with a specific NPC.

You are right. But also, this is not a monthly MMO. Its expansion based. It seems Destiny 2 when you quit playing for a bit will leave you with a smile as opposed to controller-throwing frustration that D1 (especially Vanilla), could leave you with. If they can actually get their content release schedule down (which we know they messed up in Destiny 1), then there will be a nice ebb and flow to it.
As it stands now, you can pick up Destiny 2, play it...make some progress, and stop. Destiny 1 you could play for hours and not make any progress.

2 questions. What's a lost sector and where do I find them? Is there still openings in a gaf clan on ps4?

There is one at 260, haven't seen 270.
Not to pick on you, but a lot of these kinds of questions can be found with 3 seconds of googling. It'll be faster for you.
Lost sectors are little mini-caves that end with a boss and loot. They are indicated on your map.

Gotta say, while crucible didn't bother me much in the beta, I'm just not having as much fun with the 4v4 now. Feels kind of sterile and nowhere near as hectic. Maybe that'll change when I start getting on with my friends more.
I feel like I spend a lot of time trying to find the battles when in D1 it was almost spawn campy with an enemy nearby as soon as you spawn.

Save it until actually rare and unique ship, e.g. HM / Prestige Raid one.
MIDA says otherwise for PvP. D2 MIDA feels like Y1 Thorn/LTW in that I don't ever want to take it off and put myself at a disadvantage. With the radar changes to ADS, Third Eye is too powerful of a perk for D2.
In a game like D2 where getting the first shot off is paramount, Knucklehead Radar and MIDA are exceptional. Outside of the Third Eye, MIDA makes movement feel more like D1 AND they buffed it to have a scope that highlights enemies!
There are guns that I think are "better" than MIDA, but the sum of it's parts make a pretty strong case for "best option".

Is a repaired version of the starting gear available in any way atm?
I kept mine because I think there will be a way to repair it down the line.
Sunshot! Gravitron is good as well. And every time your new bar fills up, you get a bright engram.

1st question: it depends on your play style, you like a bit of range? Go with Graviton Lance. You like to get up close, go Riskrunner.
2nd question: after level 20 you have reached the level cap. Congrats. You will no longer get upgrade points when levelling up. Instead, you get a bright engram every time the bar completes. Now you can focus on equipping gear with higher Power levels do you can get more better gear.
3rd question you may ask: What is the difference between you Level and your Power Level? Power Level is the average levels of your armor and weapons. The higher you get that, the better gear you get! Your Power level caps at 300 (I believe).
You level caps at 20 and is used to get upgrade points early on in the game.

Most of the armors seem to be going for a more WoW / WH40K style massive pauldron thing which looks really dorky to me. I just need some nice Master Chief armor and a sweet old school rifle like No Land Beyond.
Devrim's rifle that you can see him holding in the cathedral looks kinda like that. Wish it was an exotic.

I lucked out and got an exotic from a bright engram as well. Vanishing point with an instant spawn/mount mod (IMO the best sparrow mod)

have you left a clan this week? if you leave a clan you'll be unable to receive any of the shared clan engrams for the rest of the week. you'll only be able to get one for contributing 5000 xp with your character.
I swear by the Prospector but I think I'm in the minority when it comes to grenade launchers
Prospector is my favorite gun so far. Love that thing and it melts bosses or groups of enemies.

Nope. I'm the leader of the clan and I got the Crucible engram before, so not sure what went wrong there.
In the beta it used whatever your battle tag name was so I assume you can change it as normal whenever .

10 Heroics last night, and only one Engram. Ugh my luck is shit in games like this.
They must have changed it at some point because I'm sure it was originally the 15th. Remember thinking that I have the day off work so I can sit down and watch Datto stream it. Never mind!

-Adjust volume for music.
-See team mates on your map
-Place a waypoint
There is quite a few issues being needlessly dragged over to D2. I'm also a little upset at how empty public event can be. Increase the player instance count. I know it begins to walk a fine line where you could have too many. As it is right now though? The game feels empty at peak times (most of the time)
