Gosh, The JonTron fallout crushed me. That guy was my comedic muse until this all came to the fore. He did such a good job of keeping anything objectionable out of his videos up to that point that he had me fooled. That one stung.

Where do the other Normalboots guys - PBG (+ Jeff), ProJared, Jirard, Continue? - stand on these such debates? That crew got me into YouTube viewing years ago, but I find it hard to go back now because I'm afraid of what I might find if I look too closely.

It's not a YT channel, but the Vice Waypoint crew is progressive as heck and proud of it, which makes for a valuable listen after moments in the scene like these.

I do think there is a legit conversation to be had about Campo Santo DMCAing those vids. I personally would have been perfectly ok with devs saying "we will no longer support or provide keys to Felix, based on his racist outburst." That would have been perfect acceptable. And like I said, I'm very interested to see how many developers will stop showering PDP with gamekeys praying that he will cover it for that free press. Even I get like 2-3 game keys a week for video review/streaming in my email for my own channel. Devs trying to get that word out. But PDP is the HEAVEN of game exposure, and there's just no denying that.

I worry that devs like Campo Santo will DMCA him, and then find themselves in a losing legal battle. I'm not sure you wanna give PDP that high ground. H3H3 just had a great win for Fair Use themselves, I would hate to see racist PDP be any champion of fair use or DMCA in this situation. And unlike H3, PDP can afford it, and who's to say if he would or wouldn't go for it.

Normal Boots broke up shortly after Jon's White Supremacy came out. They said it wasn't because of it, but let's be honest it's obvious they didn't want to associate with him after that. PBG in general hates JonTron these days, and is pretty liberal going by twitter.

I think this is probably the most positive thing to come out of the thread. My contributions are bolded. They all have what I look for in a youtube channel: Interesting content and voices that are pleasant to hear (a.k.a: they are not fucking banshees).

In a way, Boogie annoys me more than Pewdiepie, whether his "Can't we all just get along!?" schtick is genuine, ignorant, both or whatever.

He knows what he is doing. The middle ground only exists for him to look like a peaceful moderator trying to bring everyone together in an attempt to not take any flak while defending his racist friends. Which means, he cares about his racist friends just as much as his income and livelihood. Boogie is probably a racist. There is no ignorance on this issue either. Ignorance is just another convenient lie like any sort of middle ground existing on the issue of hate. You support it or you don't. It's simple.

Youtube is no better until they start dealing with this issue.

I heard from different places it's not actually DMCA but ContentID so PDP's firewatch videos have been demonetized but still remain up?
