Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

300 pages? OT2 incoming?

Destiny 2 |OT2| I don't have time to explain what I don't understand

Destiny 2 |OT2| Let's talk about your new AI waifu

Just finished the campaign after 13 hours, including a good chunk of side quests and some Crucible.
I felt that the story, by being less vague than D1´s, made the universe lose some potential and mystery. The guerrilla-like, depowered guardians didn´t convince me at all. I did like the dynamic between the main villain and his friend / consul / mentor, but as a whole I am now even less interested by the lore. I miss the "takes-itself-seriously" Bungie from Halo Reach.

The gameplay is without a doubt very solid, but after playing more sophisticated combat systems (particularly the one from Warframe) it feels relatively slow and shallow. I am not impressed by most of the guardians / armors / weapons designs, perhaps also because of having been inmersed in the exquisite Warframe aesthethics for several months.

I will be checking the strikes, raid and expansions once they become available. That said, as of now there are no vestiges of the gargantuan hype I once had for this saga.

I am intrigued by its social reception; will the hordes of addicted players return? I can´t give an answer yet by using my XBL friends list as a sample.

Skyburners Oath makes me soooo happy... feels like a bolter in a great way.

And it just meeeelllllts them Cabal. The heroic strikes are so smooth now. Took it into PVP last night on a lark expecting to get run on and whattya know... 2 head tinks with this thing and people just float away as ash... SO GUD

Raid ready, just about 276 - hoping to hit 280 this evening. can't wait for this raid

I in some odd thinking I have always related the factions and their colors and "style" to the following:

New Monarchy: Red and white Gazelles or Sambas with full on matching track suits.

FWC: Some crazy, limited Nike release in multicolor chaos with joggers and matching hoodie.

Dead Orbit: Checkerboard slip-ons with black jeans and an white T.

Seems I have to eat my words about the raid not starting at 260, I'm surprised they started it off relatively low. I guess this is what Bungie meant when they said they wanted the raid to be more accessible.

I heard that drops are now based on what you have in your active inventory and not what you have equipped, is there any truth to this? I don't want to use crappy weapons like sidearms or pulse rifles, so I don't want to be forced to use them when I don't have to.

It's not limited to your active inventory. It's anything you have that can be equipped, even if it's in your vault or on another character.

Your drops take into account EVERYTHING you have.. including your inventory your vault and your alts and of course - the weapons you have in your hands.

Use whatever you want and you'll get the best possible drops you can no matter what.

This is how I've resisted the double dip. I made the switch to PC last December and I'm dedicating myself to getting back to where I was on PS4 before Plains of Eidolon drops.

When I feel tempted to plug my PS4 back in I just remind myself what the gameplay will feel like after blasting through Warframe levels at 144hz...and it helps.

Been pretty disappointed with the feedback on the new weapons/perks/mod system as a result though. I want just a slice of Tenno-like customization, they don't have to go all the way.

No idea I get better gear based on my current gear mostly

Level 20 now and clawing my way to 260. Why is this so hard to do? 228 now.

It's supposed to be a grind. People are really just nolifing/power leveling to 260+ real fast with events. For the normal player its supposed to take much longer than your 1-20 journey. Or it should, at least. "Welcome to the endgame", yadda yadda. Wait until you're within 10 light of the cap, that will take the longest :)

I main a Hunter but I have to accept that my Warlock right now is superior in every way.

He has the highest PL and the coolest looking armour

He was given the coolest looking Sparrow

And he managed to get me the best emote

Even with a more cinematic campaign the story was still bad. I thought it started strong then just went down hill. Campaign had two levels that I thought were great, the rest were nothing special.

Holy shit, best improvement ever! So now when I create a second character after reaching LL300, I can get level 300 drops as soon as I reach level 20?

The ending felt super weak!

It was basically like, here's a new and improved Tower and everything is back to normal... plus, that last boss battle was a (piece of cake) joke!

Fuck I think my game just screwed me during the Mida quest. I was just turning stuff in and then Devram gave me the weapon I needed to proceed to the next step of the quest. Accepted it and it didn't go to my Elemental slot cause it was full. Went to the postmaster and it's not there. Reloaded the game and still no weapon.

Am I missing something?

Known bug with full inventory, can you buy another one from him? Should cost 10 legendary shards.

Man. Had a 249, 257 and a 263 (clan mates) for the Nightfall and ran out of time on both runs with the boss at ~15%. Had to call it a night but that was really great, feel we gave it a damn good shot. Was expecting to be frustrated by close losses but it's pretty intense and if it wasn't reset tomorrow we would have nailed it then.

Love the Nightfall changes.

Is there anything worthwhile I can spend my glimmer on? In D1 I'd just buy heavy ammo and donate it for rep, but I there's nothing similar in D2.

On my latest run I clocked the game at around 5 hours for 1-20 + all of Campaign

First some tips
Run forward if you see an arrow on your compass at all times. Only stop to kill when the game forces you to.
Equip all pieces of gear if it's higher light level period.
Don't turn in tokens ect until you're 20 and above at least 200 light level
Use XP Token every 4 hours

Here's my advice for you for how to hit 20 from level 1 ASAP
Start the game, play through until you get to EDZ
Do "events" until 5 while doing the necessary quests.
Move to Titan, do the first 3 quests
Do "events" here until level 12
Do your 1st Sub-class quest
Move to Nassus, do the quests here
Move to IO, do the quests here
Go to EDZ and do "events" until 16
Finish the fight.

Once you're 20 do events for a bit int he EDZ. Try to bring your light level up a bit. If you're in a hurry stop at 200, I'd recommend pushing until 240-250.

At this point talk to the hobos in the Tower. Get all the free stuff they give you, join a Clan. Start anything. You'll notice a Milestone update for your clan, cancel this and go back to Tower. Go to Clan person collect loot.

Do 2 strikes
Do 2 Social PVP matches
Do 2 Comp PVP matches
Do any "Milestone" that says "Powerful" Gear
Do PVP Milestone for Powerful Gear
Do Nightfall Strike

Estimated time:
5 Hours for campaign
3 Hours for Events
30 minutes for 2 strikes
2 hours for PVP
1 hour for loading/dicking around
10 minutes for Nightfall

If you start now you should beat the clock!
Thanks so much for this! Very helpful.

Story is taking me longer than I anticipated so I think I'm just gonna call it a day. Just got
Ikora
. God, the Taken and their environments look fucking amazing.
