I'm afraid Nintendo will only show already revealed titles footage, no surprises. I hope I'm wrong.

Some people here have BIG expectations, wow!

I think the reason the January event was able to be leaked was because somebody was on the show floor of a preview event set up and revealed everything he saw. It's a lot more difficult to get hold of the contents in a Direct presentation, so I'm choosing not to believe that leak.

Funny how no one ever cites the one /v/ leak that said Sin and Punishment 3 and Tokyo Mirage Sessions Switch were being announced at E3!

Worst part is I was one of the people who had faith in it. I guess it was the booth being set up that got me. Glad I ate a crow on that one.

There was only one time a Direct was actually leaked and that was when someone posted a screenshot of some folders containing press material. It was really weird but nothing like that has ever happened before or since with any of Nintendo's digital presentations.

not sure why people keep bringing up the Jan conference.

c'mon son...c'mon

"Logo has a plane in it, indicating a new flight mechanic."

Oh man I forgot about that. Swing and a miss.

Unless a leak show some 3DS stuff I doubt it is true. Specially there are many things to talk about USUM yet.

No 3DS is your clue that this is fake.

I just think the Switch stuff is realistic for the most part.

I also think Bayo1/2 port will be announced too.

I don't buy that 4chan(?) "leak" at all in part because Nintendo already confirmed that in the Yoshi game you don't flip the level on the fly, you re-play the level and it is flipped the second time.

Boring enough to believe, not exciting enough to care about believing

They presented it like that but I was thinking they let slip you could flip it too.

I can see the hat in Mario Odyssey looking like a plane.

That was their own extrapolation from seeing the logo, are we going to ignore that he described the logo of the game as well as the title?

He made some assumptions based off what he was setting up but everything on there was right and unknown prior to the conference. It's a good point to bring up that that was a conference with a physical demo setup for media though and not just a Direct, so the circumstances are a little different.

Just like how Mario Odyssey was a new SM64 style game where you could throw a hat and use it only to jump on. Definitely no more new mechanics were unveiled for that game at a later date.

Man, bottom of the page syndrome is real.

I'm no insider, but I would put lots of money on us hearing something about mobile Animal Crossing this week.

And such an announcement will in all likelihood be grouped with (at least) a confirmation that Animal Crossing Switch is coming next year.

For Yoshi, if you are playing Co-Op the levels can flip whenever you want. If you play single player, you go through the same level twice - once normally and once flipped. They were coy about being able to do it yourself IIRC.

That's how it was presented at E3 or on Treehouse at least. I really hope they change that because it sounds stupid as hell, if the mechanic to flip back and forth is already there why would they lock it behind Co-Op mode, just makes the single player sound tedious.

(I hate getting the top/bottom of a page)

The direct won't leak unless Vern or Chris spill the beans, so relax now.

I don't think Chris has insider information outside of retailer blogs. Chris simply used a mix of past years having a direct before TGS, retailers saying a Direct was on the horizon, and Nintendo's window to release Lola Pop.

Please let this be when they announce an update to the Switch with their version of achievements/trophies/missions/coins/stars or whatever Nintendo wants to call them (and hopefully an ability to view those your friends have achieved).

oh I get that but he said he was involved with setting up the switch event. People keep bringing up the live conference leak like it holds weight in this situation.

Not only that but there was already someone pretending to be the same guy doing the E3 setup, despite being on different continents and all.

If I remember correctly, the reason the Jan leak seemed pretty plausible beforehand was it tallied with a few recent trademarks that had flown under the radar.

My shot in the dark is that Retro finished their game already and it's coming out in summer 2018 so maybe they'll announce it now.

Or maybe they'll wait for January or February.

I think Smash will launch with the Switch's online service though so I could see Smash getting announced.
