Ohohoh lol!

Fatal Frame V might just get lost in the shuffle which would suck, but I honestly don't know how Gamepad heavy it is since it's one of the few games on the system I didn't play. Devil's Third is probably just not worth it considering it bombed and they washed their hands of it almost immediately.

It'd be cool if Fatal Frame V got ported in a collection with II remake and IV, finally getting localized. Totally pie-in-the-sky type thing but hey.
It requires the gamepad rotation and one enemy can turn invisible, but can still be tracked on the gamepad. The rotation can simply be ported over or removed without much problem. The invisible spirit did have an audio cue when targeting it, so could keep it unchanged really, but some slight modification could make it more clear.

Good/control wise, there's nothing stopping a port.

Ah good, so that's like Splatoon. Easily doable since the joycons and pro controller have gyro.

Kinda more hyped about this direct then the E3 one, concidering it likely will handle most stuff releasing until winter, prob a small and a bigger system update and some cool not expected suprises.
About the above post, i like that they do not spoil everything for this pokemon game for once, and really hopes there is no leak this time like oras/sm did like a month earlier.

My heart can't take it. I'm a huge sucker for anything Metroid. If we got a Trilogy on Switch I'd lose my mind.

Me too. I played the first one for a few hours at launch but it was during my drinking teen days so never got anywhere near finishing it. To have it in HD and available on the go nevermind the whole trilogy would be incredible.

I love how everyone making guess lists has forgotten that there's a mainline Pokémon game coming out in two months.

TPC typically announces info on their own time and not in Directs. Though I remember they announced Alolan Rattata during a Direct. The lack of info is really a hype killer. If they don't do a blowout of info during the direct, I hope website/trailer updates like they did for Sun/Moon become more frequent.

Potential Smash Announcement Date (Claimed by many fans)

Nintendo World Championship 2017 (In October)
Big Winter Direct (in Jan 2018)
E3 2018 (in June 2018)

+Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Field Trailer/Release Date)
+Gameplay Video Recording/Sharing (System Update This Week)
+Big 2018 Game Teaser (Prime 4 Style)
+Big 2018 Game Trailer (Fire Emblem Switch, for example)

Is it too much to ask?

I'm surprised so few people are expecting to hear about Mario Odyssey DLC... Should I not be expecting that? I thought it was a pretty likely announcement.

Kind of a lot for HAL to be working on, depending on how long they've been sitting on Kirby 3DS.
I wound up comparing the credits for Robobot and Rainbow Curse, and there isn't a huge amount of crossover between the staff (around 1/3 max).

I think the main people behind Rainbow Curse are working on the 3DS game, while most of the Robobot staff have moved onto the Switch game, while working on Boxboy on the side.

If we got a Trilogy on Switch I'd lose my mind.

I would, too. That's what I want in between Samus Returns and 4.

I really, really doubt that's what this is about. I wish I could dream that dream. I more expect it to be a glorified advertisement for existing announcements. Some new footage. Maybe one nice surprise but maybe not.

Very low expectations. Safer this way.

I'm not expecting anything Smash releated. At this point, I firmly believe they're working on Smash 5, even if it is just in the early stages.

Too late at this point to bring a port of Smash 4 to the Switch. I feel like we definitely would have heard about it by now.

That's definitely believable, and now I'm left wondering how much overlap there was on the two 3DS spinoffs they released this year.

But that's something they could have been developing concurrently with Robobot. Clash Deluxe has a copyright date of 2016 even, so they were done with it for a while for sure.

Remember when there was going to be a Melee port on Wii but Sakurai wanted it to be something more until it grew into Brawl? I have a feeling they were going to just port Smash 4, but we haven't heard a thing about it because it's taken so long just to finalize the scale of the thing. It's somewhere along the line between enhanced port and full sequel, but closer to which end is anyone's guess.

I guess I'll go ahead and post some predictions then.

Switch

First, some boring system updatey stuff.

* Details on a major system update, including My Nintendo integration (specifically Missions), Video Capture, Add Friends via social media, support for Bluetooth audio devices, and maybe a web browser

* YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu coming to Nintendo Switch immediately after the Direct, Crunchyroll, Crackle, Amazon Video arriving later this Fall. Twitch, Pluto TV, and more planed for 2018.

* Changes coming to Nintendo Switch Online app on Smart-Devices. You can now switch chat input and output to the Swtich console, compatible with any headset. Can now be used when phone is locked, or using another app. Update arriving later this Fall. Another update, which includes creating rooms from the app, and Messaging arriving in 2018.

Now for games

* Super Mario Odyssey gets a new trailer highlighting a few new Kingdoms, even a few story reveals. Luigi is playable, and there's a surprise guest teased...

* Xenoblade Chronicles 2 new trailer. Release date, November 14.

* Fire Emblem Warriors new characters shown, amiibo support detailed, DLC in development, which planned for a 2018 release.

* Fire Emblem Switch Unveiling, Trailer showing off setting and characters, as well as gameplay. Early 2018

* Kirby: Friend or Foe launching January 2018, trailer

* Yoshi's Side Story launching Spring 2018.

* New game unveiled for first time, some form of Rhythm game from the 1-2 Switch team, available December.

* Retro Studios new game, Rewind Climax, releasing 2018.

* Mentions of 3rd party 2017 games, including release dates for Rocket League, Skyrim, etc.

* New 3rd party games announced from Ubisoft, Activision, Square Enix, Sega, and Bamco.

3DS

Not much to really expect considering it's age, so this'll be quick.

* Samus Returns mention

* Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minons amiibo details

* Sushi Striker release date

* Kirby Multiplayer game unveiled, delayed to 2018

* EarthBound II, AKA Mother 3 remake from HAL, updated 3D Models, for the first time in the US, arriving early 2018.

* Wario for Nintendo 3DS coming 2018.

Grand Finale

* Metroid Prime 4 first glimpse of footage, more details coming in 2018.

A+ Predictions - hope this is what we end up getting, especially the update stuff.

I feel that the usage of Amiibo in Odyssey will be the biggest feature here than the DLC. Outfits? Stages?

I thought they confirmed that the Amiibo functionality would indeed be costumes. They hinted that they were trying to find a use for a lot of the (if not every) Amiibo released so far for costumes.

Why the hell are people expecting a bunch of 2018 announcements when the Direct is specifically for dating and detailing 2017 games?

Please tell me this is sarcasm.

Did you forget that the people who said this before E3 ended getting blown out when they announced Metroid Prime 4, a Yoshi game, a Pokemon game, and a Kirby game all for 2018+?
