PewDiePie calls someone a "fucking n****r" during PUBG livestream

I feel ya.

I wish I had a time machine that could take me back to when I was 10 and apolitical games like Starcraft, Abe's Odyssey and Metal Gear Solid were being released.

Starcraft is political? Genuinely, curious. I always thought it was just Space Marines versus aliens. Never played it tho.

What in the whole fresh fuck?....I don't know who he is, but I'm shocked...I can't even...

A real life uncle ruckus. But this guy probably does to con alt right dipshits by justifying their pathetic views. Neither are defensible, the conman and the true believers are just as deplorable.

Anytime someone links to this guy's channel you can only help but sidee ye them. No one gives a fuck what this dude thinks, he has no fucking dignity.

I know it makes little sense, but seeing this I think "this guy ain't black." And I don't mean in a literal sense of the color of his skin. More that he is a disgrace to blacks.

Sheeeeeeeit. That's pretty on point.

PUBG, as much as I enjoy the game, realllllly exemplifies how much racism is embedded in the gaming community. The voice chat at the beginning is nothing short of fucking disgusting.

I don't really know how this issue can be fixed. It's some deep rooted shit.

Playing a match of CS GO right now.

Guy on my team called "Trump is Jesus" is calling everyone on the team spic, nigger, faggot. And it's a competitive match so I'm stuck with him for an hour.

Yeah, it's great.

I hear and see it typed all the time in CS:GO and Overwatch too. Usually some dumb ass high pitched voice little kid

Its so disheartening to see we already receive another hate without this dumb shit.

It's always something to watch one of our people got to bat for people who would like nothing more then to exterminate us. Dude even pals around with RageAfterStorm who can just barely conceal her contempt for non whites.

The guy is dumb as shit.

"They're trying to make a big fucking deal about this stuff and that's just so INSANE."

If you think companies are being shady when they normally throw DMCA strikes at Lets Players but you're fine with it in this case, you're being a hypocrite.

The fair use / copyright infringement line has nothing to do with whether a person is racist or not.
There's absolutely nothing wrong or hypocritical with devs not wanting to be assosiated with racist morons.

Get this through some minds: stop picturing a racist as only a gun-toting, Confederate/Nazi flag waving, white-hooded wearing person. Stop going to extremes to label a person as an actual racist.

Use racial slurs, you are a racist. There is no correct and right way to say any kind of racial slurs (besides for educational purposes) in any situation. No fit of rage, no it's so common to say it now, no I have Black friends who are okay with it, nothing.

Stop and think as to why you are saying a racial slur, and why your mind directly goes to a racial slur. Stop finding excuses to defend these racist idiots and yourself. But I guess thinking is too hard for some of these folks, right?

Games are a reflection of our culture. Our culture is inherently political.

Ergo, gaming has always been political.

I love how his previous post, literally right before the one you quoted, is:
All of us westerners would be way worse off if the US wasn't there to pick up where the British left off. Instead all of the misery was placed on those outside of the Empire. I know which timeline I would rather live in.
Denouncing homophobia is too political, exalting US imperialism is not.

God, I so love how white adults can be babied in such a way that even black children never get. Our kids get treated as adult as young as 8 years old, but a 27 year old white man gets his shitty racist behavior dismissed as just having a teenage mindset and thus excused.

Also, as it's already been said in this thread, he has a history of this shit. It's amazing that you take none of that into account but instead want to start the clock on whatever his response to this event is. Anything to not call someone a racist eh?

Foremost, you need to fine tune your race detector if you're implying or thinking I'm also white. Not that that should matter unless it's just easier to presume that because you need me to be white to fit your narrative. Race is important to me for the same reasons as many others in this topic, because I've been personally affected by it (sometimes very viciously). I'm not willing to use the existence of labels like "racist" to attack others in a blanketed manner just like I do not like when blanket racial epithets are used against me. I'm sorry you cannot understand that.

If you need me to make this simpler: Pewdiepie has a history of being immature. I've seen the nazi-related videos and I've seen the coverage. I've read the threads. I watched his response video. I saw him previously almost use the word he used here. Pewdiepie is an idiot but he did not come off as a nazi or someone that simply hates black people in any of those videos. He came off as a manchild who has watched too much South Park and hung around with too many sycophants in the process. I do not equate that childish behavior with those who proselytize about being a member of a superior race, attack those of other races, threaten those of other races, and fight to take away the rights of other races. Again, if you cannot understand my point of view, I can only sympathize.

Lol. This is why I cant even deal. Dude says fucking nigger infront of thousands of people, laughs, says no one cares, says it again and you still are apprehensive to call him a racist.

You think you are being fair and balanced but this is just the same stupid bullshit excuses. Calling him a racist is worse than him saying racist things.

We know where you stand at least. "Oh he's a child in spirit!!!" Give me a break. I can't even believe were suppose to take this seriously.

I saw your previous post where you replied stating the only answer is for him to delete his account and take himself out of the public eye for good. Is that going to solve what you perceive to be outward racism? Anyone that is simply stupid enough to use these words--not someone with a racist agenda, mind you, just simply stupid--just needs to go away until we live in a utopia where only the "good people" remain? The world is never going to be that black and white. It's always going to be a struggle to ensure people do not denigrate others based on class, religion, race, etc. You will not get rid of racism by trying to conflate everyone even close to "the other side" with everyone actually on "the other side".

Pewdiepie is not a "child in spirit" and you won't see me say that. He's a puerile imbecile that refuses to grow up now that he lives in an echo chamber. There are a lot of people like him on PSN and Xbox Live that behave in a very similar manner that are not racist and do not have any sort of racist overtones in mind when they use that word. I know that is hard to comprehend, but it's true. They're not always using it with such great specificity--they use it just as they would the word "bitch". That is part of the internet culture right now and I don't like it and clearly you don't like it, but trying to banish everyone we disagree with isn't going to change it at all. In fact, it will make it much worse before it gets even a little better.

The first plot arc involves a political revolution against a corrupt government that results in a military dictator rising to power. The game can be very political.

See, I actually find this GIF a little racist.

Just because a black person has an opinion you disagree with doesn't mean he's "dancing for whitey" or whatever. And don't even tell me that GIF doesn't have a distinct minstrel show implication. I personally think expecting every black person on the planet to have the same opinion on everything is pretty damn racist.

Racism = politics?

Unfortunately, yes. I see a lot of well-intentioned people saying things like 'racism is not a political debate' and while I support this as messaging it falters as analysis. Racists try to have their say in the way the world is run just like everybody else, and this runs the gamut from deliberate policy advocacy by overt and intentional racists to the people who push for their online spaces to be more accommodating of people who use racist slurs.

This is social politics, in the moment. It's what we're doing right now.

Nah that's exactly what he's doing. He's dancing. he's going out of his way to say it's not a big deal. It's incredibly dangerous what he's doing.

The fact that this came out in a heated moment when he was less in control means it's obviously part of his vocabulary. Which, if he's yelling this at random people online on the regular, how does he know he hasn't yelled it at a black person before?

It just seems so stupid that he isn't getting this. Maybe it really is true that if you read his mind you'd find no active malice, but he is acting exactly like a racist would and making people feel threatened like a racist would. So what's the difference?

And that's not even getting started on the fact that it normalizes this behavior for a massive audience with many teens.

He's friends with and tour with legit open white supremacist. We call him a few special words in the black community

I'm apart of that we especially seeing how I had some few special words before I closed that video.

Nah the gif is accurate.

An opinion that I disagree with is that we should lower taxes and defund social goods for inner cities.

This individual content is only relevant because they are black and are promoting thoughts and ideas that would harm other black individuals.

Here's another gif while I'm at it

This isn't about solving racism. This is about a racist who loves to stir shit and needs to get fucking dealt with by the community. You thinking this is about ending racism is how I already kmow this is a pointless discussion

Anyone that is simply stupid enough to use these words--not someone with a racist agenda, mind you, just simply stupid--just needs to go away until we live in a utopia where only the "good people" remain?

He isn't dumb. He knows what he is doing. Like how you dont grasp this I don't understand

Racism does not hinge on how we deal with PewDiePie. You and I both know this so fucking stop this shit.

Lol. Racism is not about what you feel in your heart. It's about actions and effects. If you refer to anyone as a fucking nigger you're a racist. That's literally it.

You'll find self hating Jewish people that are Holocaust deniers on the internet.

The vast majority of Jewish don't give a fuck what their opinion is on the matter.

There are no "two sides" on racism. There is no rationalising it or dismissing it. Racism is racism. It's evil. End of.

Any black person out there defending racists fucks that see black people as inferior are part of the problem. There is no sympathy to be had for them and you can sod off with this pedantic "real racists" bullshit you're trying to pull. You ain't slick.

Edit; this thread trying my patience.

It's reasonable to expect a person not to be on board with their own dehumanization.

are you black?

When that black person's opinion is one that reinforces white supremacy you'd better believe we'll call him or her out on it. It's something the black community has never hesitated to do and unless you're black yourself, I really don't give a fuck what you think about it.

Fuck that guy.

If you're not black you can't really say what is or isn't racist. The context and subtext is different. But i get what you're saying about the gif.

Yes, he does need to delete his account and go away specifically because he is a public figure whose stupidity and empowerment of racist words can have a negative impact on his audience, many of whom are impressionable children and young teens.

And yes, he did say the word like one would say bitch, fucker, whatever. Let's pretend he isn't racist....At minimum, he is giving power to a racist word simply by using it.

He's basically telling every racist white person they can say: "look he agrees with us, therefore we can't possibly be racist!"

FOH..

This isn't an opinion on whether Man of Steel was a good movie or not. This is literally feeding in to white supremacy, which he has a history of, by making excuses for a person who had now displayed multiple instances of bigoted ideals. There's nothing wrong with having a different opinion among black people. There is something wrong when blatant racism is caped for.
