Nintendo Direct announced for Sept 14, 2017 (midnight CEST)

They only hold a direct if they have something to announce. E3 on the other hand is more of an obligation so they have to have a conference whether they have something to announce or not. So in a way I feel like there's always going to be something announced at a direct whereas E3 can and often does disappoint.

The hype killer for E3 is when we found out Nintendo's presentation was going to be around half hour. Lots of people were thinking we wouldn't see much.

There's no insider rumors on anything Platinum, right?
I saw Nate Drake mention "congrats on predicting something that's been teased" in relation to them, but I'm not sure if he was saying that with any inside information.

We do know they're doing something for Switch, a bit bummed that their good stuff was like the first two years of Wii U and there hasn't been much in terms of partnership/collaborations since outside of star fox which was always meant to be a small year long dev cycle project.

I think Bayonetta 2 would've done super well year 1 while things were slow. Maybe near the amiibo release. Hopefully they can benefit from switch's acceptable installbase and Bayo in Smash boost. Also for Nintendo to work with them on something original.

Have you all discussed the gamexplain predictions?

The guys stated that they had heard rumblings of multiple third party Switch games coming, and later talked about Phantom Pain, Dragon Ball Fighterz, Fallout 4, and Final Fantasy (15?) possibly coming to Switch. They also mentioned RDR and GTAV, but those seemed like strictly speculation based off of L.A. Noire coming.

Maybe these are completely off-base, but it is pretty insane that there is even a possiblity of such AAA third-party titles coming to a Nintendo platform. I would have never believed such a turn of events this time last year.

Fighterz is likely, but I'm pretty sure they said it wouldn't come until the other versions are done.
It seems like games that they speculated could come to Switch. There's that Bethesda game that's supposed to come out soon which could be fall out. Phantom Pain would be cool, I guess. They've been working with Konami a lot lately so it's possible. Would've thought survive first, tho.

All of that was purely fun speculation on their part and not rumors or insider knowledge.

It would make sense to start seeing third party support announcements. Most third parties didn't want to support it until they saw if it was a success or not. It's looking increasingly likely that not only is it s success but most third party games have exceeded expectations in terms of sales (Bomberman, SF2, Disgea 5 etc) I reckon we will see a few ports announced, L.A. Noire will obvs be shown but wouldn't be surprised with Final Fantasy XV or Fallout or a Dark Souls game or collection. We will see.

I'm setting expectations right around the level of that fake leak. It's so basic that they can't go lower than that, so I'll be happy if they top it.

I think people are going to be disappointed if they expect 8-10 new game announcements.

We'll probably get 1 new Switch game announced. And maybe a DQXI 3DS port announcement.

45 minutes of a Direct for one new Switch game? Yeah I'm expecting atleast 2 new Switch games (be it ports or brand new games).

I'm pretty sure an Uncharted x Zelda crossover is getting announced.

I relistened to that portion of the discussion. Roger says he and Andre have heard rumblings of third party titles, but they don't know any specifics(?). So yeah sounds like strictly speculation.

Nate is legit, but him mentioning something does in no way shape or form confirm anything in this instance.

You're free to believe whatever you want, I just want to make it clear that he has never been a verified insider supported by the moderation team, and we have banned him before for inaccurate claims after the Switch was revealed. Maybe he knows stuff, maybe he doesn't, it's between him and God.

"A ton" is quite an exaggeration for a couple of announcements with no proper logo or even game title.

almost half of their presentation was 2018 games, so it's not really an exaggeration.

but you're been weirdly sarcastic or something this thread....so I'm not even sure what you're going for

SMT V
Bayonetta 3
Mother 4
Red Dead Switch
Smash Switch
Monster Hunter XXX (for 3ds)

yall heard it here first.

shit ill be happy with atleast seeing the protagonist of the SMT Switch

Between him and God? 🤔

If so they will probably be single game directs apart from a possible December / January Direct

But this could totally be seen as their usual pre TGS fall direct imho

Well we'll probably have a solo one for Xenoblade 2. This might be it for Mario, maybe they'll announce the season pass this week. Have they announced a FE Musou season pass yet? Kinda wish they announced a second season pass for Zelda too.

Ya'll refused to verify me way back when...

That's an interesting response considering I haven't said a single thing about the Direct or the possible contents of it on GAF.

They'll remember all the missses... Just "leak" what you are 99% sure on or higher. It's the only way.

God's probably having a chuckle at how much we care about all this.
