Nintendo Direct announced for Sept 14, 2017 (midnight CEST)

Alright folks, I just "logged on" to the "net" for the day. What did I miss?

I know a lot of people complain about their approach to online, but I'll gladly pay for it if I get at least $20 in games/discounts in a year.

He didn't say Konami has a history of bringing new Metal Gear games to Nintendo systems, he said they have a history of bringing Metal Gear games to new Nintendo systems, which isn't terribly outrageous. It happened on the Gamecube and 3DS, so 2 out of the last 5 consoles.

I wouldn't be shocked if it happened but I don't really expect it.
 
When it comes to Activison I see most people suggesting Call of Duty. What about Crash Bandicoot? His Skylander figure does work with the Switch version of Skylanders so I guess anything's possible.

GameCube was a new system in 2004?

Altogether, the post doesn't make any sense when talking about the likelihood of MGS5 coming to Switch. If you look back at history, it makes a Switch release just more unlikely as the 3DS and GCN games didn't perform too well.

I'm wondering if the licensing for the 3rd party characters are tied to the platforms that it released on. If so, that could make a port, problematic...

Too soon for a band new game to be leleased in the next few months, imo.

Oh wow I thought that was released in the Gamecube's second year... I'm not sure why I thought that, maybe since I didn't get the Gamecube at launch. Hm.

Anyway I have no idea how they performed but Konami has to be happy with how their games (read: game) has performed so far so I wouldn't put it past them. I don't know how well the Bomberman audience translates to MGSV but all of the Zelda BotW comparisons should have piqued their interest at the very least.

Well, Announcement =/= Release. I really hope that they actually make the license deals with three games in it since they should've planned ahead since Switch was planned before they begun DLC Development.

I'd only really worry about Cloud for this. Sega (Sonic, Bayo), Capcom (Mega Man, Ryu) and Namco (Pac Man) likely aren't really hard to make deals with. Especially Namco, since they made the game.

Square seems like they'd be funny with this stuff.

Nintendo can only do so much, and they already admitted mutliple time they are not good a doing respectable online features.
Maybe the fees is to hire talented people for that.
 
I'm really glad that the Apple conference is today. Otherwise I'd just spend all my dang time hyping myself up about this Direct! Kind of wish it was during the day though. It'll be painful driving home while the Direct is happening.

Load up YT on your phone and blast that shit through your car's speakers. You won't get visual but at least you'll get half of the experience live.

Or just glance down at your phone every few seconds. Who needs to look at some dumb road, anyway?
 
Based on that kanji, we could expect some kind of rhythm game (Rhythm Heaven?), Dragon Quest, Mother/Earthbound, a sports game (ball?)...either a new Golden Sun or Super Mario Sunshine, trust makes me think Xenoblade...anyone else have any guesses?

Heh... If my wife and I didn't drive to and from work together I would probably do one or both of these things. For some reason she's concerned with me paying attention to other cars on the road...
