Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Lmao 😂 in typical bungie fashion maintenance is extended.

God damn. Waste of my entire day off.

I don't understand how Blizzard was able to do 1-hour WoW maintenance during extreme early morning hours all the way back in 2004. Are they just wizards or something?

It definitely takes longer the more you do them. It's annoying because it's microtransactions straight from freemium gaming. They wet your beak a bit with free gifts, then promise you that you'll keep getting some through the progress of the game but what's this... Everything is slowed to a crawl? Oh man I really want more, give me give me here are 50 bucks.

Exactly. Everything about cosmetics in D2 feels scummy. You get free samples at the beginning like it's some drug dealing business, it gets progressively harder to obtain more, everything is RNG, a lot is one-time use, there is no way to earn 99% of them otherwise. Horrible, horrible system, a huge blemish on an otherwise very enjoyable game.

Uhhhh holy shit. There is no way this wasn't intentional by the artist/dev involved. It just slipped past management, clearly.

Yeah, I'm doubting this was by accident. It's too similar but I believe Bungie management when they said they didn't know. Who knows maybe an artist saw it and thought it looked cool and had no idea what it meant. I've never seen that symbol before.

The best part of D2 is that the Hive got relegated and confined

I found that D1 focused too much on the least interesting Alien group in D1 and its association with Darkness.

D2 was smart having a militarized Cabal Red Legion spearing forward galactic domination

Man the A50 surround mode sounds drowned out, anyone successfully using a pair of top Dolby headphones they can recommend for this?

I'm inching through the campaign, despite my frustrations.

My first impressions are bearing out, but the mission and encounter design really is on a whole other level vs. D1. The first two missions on Titan (where I'm at now) were fantastic. Really nice and wide open fights, and the missions progress 2-3x as long as a similar one would have in D1. Very impressive work and I can see them being good fun on harder settings as well.

I still don't like the gunplay or audio, especially as compared to D1, but I'm really starting to hate the new loadout system, with so many weapons stacked into the Power slot. My worry was I would feel more restricted in my options, and simply use fewer weapons than in D1, and that's exactly what's happened. Whereas I might roll with a shotgun and rockets in D1, making an aggressive push into hostile territory for a CQC rampage, with rockets as an "oh shit back up" maneuver, in D2 I'm more hesitant to engage since I don't have that fallback. So instead nearly every encounter has been me picking away at red bar enemies then going into shotgun the captain/knight/midboss. As such things are already starting to get repetitive despite the larger set of weapons available - I just can't use them.

So just curious, what's your guys favorite planet?

I actually really like them all, but if I had to give a worst it'd probably be Titan. It's way smaller than the other maps, though the underground Hive section is very cool looking.

The best would probably have to go with EDZ. I'm a sucker for rustic charm plus it's packed with content even if Nessus and Io look beautiful.

Speaking of IO, did they really have to have a second Vex planet? That's 3/4 we've had now if you want to count Mars which was shared with Cabal in D1.

Its this gauntlet, I presume:

Pay attention to the symbol. Does it look familiar to you?

Oh snap, I actually just got those the other day, didn't think anything of it because I didn't look at them closely.

I'd say it's close enough to the real symbol that it was definitely intentionally designed that way by whichever artist made that, although honestly I think it's just obscure enough to slip under the radar of whoever was in charge.

Fuuck.

I just wasted all my legendary shards by buying 5 Drangs from Tyra Karn for no reason. I saw Drang in her inventory and thought she was giving me another one for some reason, so I clicked Acquire. Then I was like shit, free Drangs! So I just kept clicking until I was out of shards. Ugh. That was enormously stupid.

They sell for 10 shards, and dismantle for 4 so I got like 16 out of 50 shards back.

Wow, I did the same thing. I was like "Sweet glitch! Gonna get 1000 shards!" I went from 50 shards down to 15 before I realized my mistake. I see plenty of others did the same, so I'm glad I'm not the only one.

They should really make the cost more obvious.

Whatever planet has that mission with annoying first person platforming across the water can fuck off.

Every other planet I like but I've mostly been on edz tbh.

50.21MB patch on my PS4 pro.

Edit: Launched the game, got a message: "This version of Destiny 2 is no longer available. Stay tuned to Bungie.net for updates on your next adventure."

Nah man those are just chevrons. One of the most used military symbols in modern history. It's an unfortunate coincidence at worst.

I don't get the logic of the artist who did the gauntlets - assuming that they did it on purpose (which they probably did). Like what's the end game that doesn't involve it getting removed and you getting fired ?
