TouchID works so unbelievably fast and quick, in any position (i.e while not having to look at it).

Having to look at your phone and then swipe up on the screen just to unlock is a step backwards.

There will probably be an option to just require face to unlock without swiping. IIRC they have a similar option for Touch ID.

And now that they claimed FaceID is a "step forward" they'll NEVER go back to Touch ID.

Anyone who has an S8 knows there are times when you want to unlock your phone without needing to look at it. That's when you use the fingerprint sensor.

Face unlocking works best when you're already looking at the phone.

I was super ready to be convinced to get the X. I'm not convinced at all. Never was a fan of edge to edge screens. The top of the camera is ugly. FaceID doesn't seem all that convenient as the make it out to be.

The best thing so far is the portrait mode for selfies. But that isn't interesting in the slightest. That shouldn't be the best thing about the X for the next big thing from Apple.

Yeah, a little bit slower and hopefully it is reliable. I haven't had any trouble at all with my fingerprint unlock, super fast and easy with little to no errors.
