Apple Event - 'Awe dropping' | Sept 9, 10am PT

Speaking of iPhone, has anyone else been having problems using GAF on mobile? Ever since I updated to the iOS 26 beta, there are a bunch of issues on GAF, like emotes not showing up in menus, buttons not working, not being able to snap to the top of the page anymore, refresh breaking, and more stuff.

I figure it might just be because it's a beta firmware, but we're really close to public release, so I'm worried it won't be fixed.
If it persists to the official release we can definitely look into it. Recommend to not use beta release if you want stability.

Yeah, I figure I won't bother you guys with it anymore until we get a final release. But I've been tracking any issues I've been having, so if the problems persist, I'll post in the error reporting thread.

I use GAF 99% on my phone, and up until I updated, it's been just such a good mobile experience. I fully regretted updating to the beta as soon as it broke GAF, even though I like some of the other aspects of iOS 26.

The next Apple gadget I'll buy will probably be the Apple Glasses. Unless my PC laptop crashes and I get a Macbook. So I'll see what happens in ten years.

They really just have nothing new to talk about with the pro at all. This whole thing could have been a text.

I'll get the new phone, just cause I'm due for a free upgrade. But god… I wish they would either do something exciting, or just skip these sections entirely. We get it, it's slightly more powerful, and has a slightly better camera. 🥱

who the actual fuck wants thinner phones? I don't get it... it really feels like manufacturers are just entirely out of ideas.

Wish they would upgrade to 480fps video for ultra slow-mo.

At least the design is new. It's not great looking, but after six or seven years of the same thing, it's kind of refreshing.

Thing can't lay flat, the cam bulge will get stuck on things. The IPhone is a solved tech, but they have to keep selling things.

I noped out of watching these iterative tech upgrade shows that are full of cringe HR corporate speak trying their best to make everything sound fucking amazing when it's just a meh minor spec bump, bring back that awful human being Jobs who at least keep everyone at Apple on edge and pushed them to constantly innovate, now it's just a boring mega corp run by someone's lesbian auntie

I guess they're not talking about iOS 26 yet? Do they usually do that during this event? I assumed it's shipping with the new phones.

Honestly how is apple relevant any more.

Overpriced and android is superior in everyway, and terrible support in my experience

I look fwd to dropping my jaw

Feels like they spent more time talking about their industrial design and tooling than what the devices can actually do.

Also interesting to see them barely touch on ApPlE iNtElLiGeNcE 🤡 at all. All that nonsense last year was really just a shareholder play, wasn't it?

When it comes to corporate phones, it's seems like tons of iPhones at every company I've worked and ex-coworkers too at my old workplaces.

I guess Apple has a good corporate sales team to get providers to sell to companies.

The M chips and less annoying desktop OS. Phones I can take or leave it, but if you have a mac makes sense to go with an IPhone. That's pretty much it.

There's almost nothing different about basically any of these devices compared to last year. What the hell else can they talk about? Whole thing could have been an email.

Apple Intelligence is the biggest joke in the AI industry right now. They're so far behind everyone else. I'm guessing because they want it to be a polished and safe experience once it truly rolls out, Nintendo-style.

But it's garbage right now.

was planning for iphone 17 pro max but the air look much nicer...don't care about the camera the pro battery might push me towards it. Air looks impressive, sleek though

For me, personally, the only reason I can think of having a really thin phone is if is is a foldable/flip phone so that when its closed its the same thickness as a regular phone, such as the Honor Magic V5
That allows for a really thin phone but doesn't sacrifice battery life or cameras

What issues are you having?
I've been on the beta since I think PB2 and I haven't noticed any issues. However it's possible if they're minor I've just not noticed.

I've noticed issues with adverts taking up 50% of the width and then a post next to it take up the other 50%, also sometimes adverts appearing in the middle of posts (as though the advert is in the post itself), thats on Android though

People have been whining about a thinner iPhone for years, just as people are whining about a foldable iPhone for years.

It's just a gimmick feature, there's no real actual benefit to a thinner phone.

I'm not really into getting an iPhone anytime soon, but I really like that orange color. Finally a top end phone that doesn't have muted boring colors.

What people? I haven't heard anyone complain that phones are too thick ever. People did want thinner foldables but nowadays several are as thin as regular phones
