Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Just started my first Destiny Story playthrough (currently lvl 18) - but I'm curious: How long does is usually take (more or less) to finish a Raid?

Once a raid is learned, they are fast with an experienced group. Maybe 30 minutes. I used to do 3 raids in a bit over an hour with old raid group.

got to lvl 261 now. i did one of the "powerful gear" milestones but couldn't avoid it because it was the clan XP one.

what do i do now? i have the rat king quest but need people to join me for it. also trying to do the sturm/drang quest. seems i did it too early and my drang was 230 so infused it up to 261.

how do i access nightfalls? when i go to it in the director it says "advance milestone" but not sure what to do. i only have the ikora 3 challenges, flashpoint, call to arms at the moment. is it even worth thinking about nightfalls right now. i feel like i'm still way too weak to attempt it or the raid yet.

Edit: wups see you already posted. Invited.

Did you pick up the powerful gear reward for the clan XP one yet? You can leave them with the NPCs as long as you like and they'll drop relative to your current level when you actually take them iirc.

As for what to do now, I'd probably just farm publics for a bit as it's easy to hit 265 off just regular drops and you may get lucky and grab an exotic or two. 265-275 is a bit of a slog. Do the flashpoint and crucible milestones once you're high-260s and the powerful rewards should help bump you to low-to-mid 270s.

For the Nightfall, if you've done the two Strikes to unlock the playlist proper, you should just need to talk to Zavala to trigger the NF milestone. This week's is pretty easy, so you should be okay in the 260s with others around your level or higher. Might be worth doing those other two milestones first, just for a little more of a safety net and better NF rewards. Hope all that helps!

Starting a new game. I have a Hunter from Destiny, never played any other class before dropping the game.

Should i change it up? Thinking Warlock. Not a great shooter and Ill probably be playing a lot of solo.

Looking through my Vault I just realized I have a Nameless Midnight. This is one of the best scout rifles in the game, right?

Your post inspired me to look as well, turns out I too have it, lol. Kept seeing it mentioned and just assumed i didn't have it or i deleted it. Whoops!

I have to say, I have at least 3 times more shaders in one week to fool around than I had in one year of Destiny 1.

Yeah, I'm more than fine with the new system.

So, I just hit 273 and I'm not sure what I should do now. I've completed all of the questlines for the exotics, did the milestones, etc. I wasn't too focused on optimizing power in my first playthrough since I went in blind. Kinda wish I planned a bit more now ;)

Would you recommend making another Titan, go through the story again, so I can boost my main to higher power levels? Or is there a more enjoyable way?

No, just keep doing pub events, strikes and PVP and you'll continue to get better drops. Level up NPC ranks with tokens too for better gear. Once you reach 260, do the NF for even better stuff.

There is no need to make Alts in the same class anymore. I got to 283 without any trouble and I know another Gaffer who reached 300 from just doing what I listed.

No need. I have only one character - a warlock - and I'm 289/290.

Just pop a fireteam medallion and do some heroic public events and you'll get exotics which drop at a higher base light level than your gear. Infuse that into your preferred gear and once you break the 280 barrier, you will gain a huge boost by being able to craft legendary mods, which will essentially give you +5 light levels to each piece of gear.

I find just looping around the EDZ or Titan can cap glimmer in no time. Hit every event, open every chest, shoot every mob. It accumulates pretty quickly. Wish there wasn't a cap, though!

What do people spend their glimmer on?

I've been buying mods just so i don't hit the cap but not really seen anything that burns through it quicker than i earn it.

Reached 280 yet? Once you gain access to the legendary mods, you'll be buying a bunch of blues to create purple mods. I basically burned all my money that way.

Also HOLY SHIT linear fusion rifles are GREAT. I will absolutely never use a sniper rifle again, whoever made these needs a raise. Loved queenbreaker in D1 but never could justify it taking up the exotic slot.

Once you hit 280 you can combine blue mods to make +5 purples. Then dismantle and use the parts to roll new mods. Some of that eats glimmer, then applying the mods also costs a good chunk of glimmer.

And adding shaders to weapons is pricey.

Welp, an act of nature slowed me down a bit, but not enough.

And also, she seems to have ensured that I'll be home today at raid time.

So I may be looking for a group of patient, eager-to-fail Guardians to go in blind with me in a few hours. Stay tuned.

You could raid ;P You've surpassed the "soft cap" of 265 and don't need to go any higher before jumping in unless you want to.

Exotic engrams will always give you a boost, and you can still get them from PEs, Adventures, Lost Sectors, Region Chests, etc. Cayde's Treasure maps also have a chance of giving you high level stuff.

Making an alt- of another class, unless you don't really want to play one at all- is also a perfectly good way to spend your time but more for its own sake (it will be way accelerated leveling) than to try and boost your main.

Otherwise once the next week rolls around (Tuesday) you'll have a bunch more opportunities to raise its power with the new weekly milestones.

Yea I'm fresh out of glimmer after applying some legendary mods to my favorite weapons last night. It's really expensive...Other than doing nightfall still I basically just need to farm glimmer this week.

I'm a big fan of looter shooters with recently getting into Warframe after Boaderlands. I never did play Desinty tho. So I'm on the fence and still waiting patiently for the reviews to complete so I can make finally decide.

I watched this. I'm sorry I did now ☹️

The difficulty of the story is true, the AI in the game are designed to go easy on you. That being said, the game is a ton of fun and plenty challenging when doing things like the raids and nightfalls.

Anyone looking to run a quick nightfall on PS4 before the raid launches?

PSN is namikaze1.

I'm down man, tried to mesage you but your settings are on private. Not using mic right now as GF is asleep though.

PSN is Fakehound.
