Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

So I'm about 220 power level now, and having a great time. But its my understanding that I need to stop turning in quests and tokens until I get to 260? What else should I be doing/not doing?

I'm not worried about 100% min maxing this game, but I don't want to screw myself and be stuck in RNG hell for months like vanilla destiny 1

Just have fun. I've went from just over 200 to 266 from Sunday - Last night only playing a few hours a day. I'm about to hit my exotic quests now and nightfalls to get ready for the Raid.

What's your PSN?

I'm happy to help, I believe it works if I just have the gun.

Just try to make sure that you lay out the kind of attitude/atmosphere you are looking for. If it's laid-back, do what we can, mess around and laugh vs. only people who are looking to get it done and take it seriously vs. we are trying for world's first literally don't join unless you are 300+. Makes a huge different in the full group's enjoyment.

Thanks man.

Is there any reason not to go ahead and use my legendary mods on my gear at 278? I've been paranoid about using them, but it looks like I can get plenty of replacements once I hit 280 if I need them.

So...I decided to double dip and picked up the PS4 version last night (already have it on Battlenet...but the wait is too damn long).

The opening mission was rough, as my eyes were adjusting from my typical 144hz gaming, but that improved drastically about 30 mins later and I got back in to it.

I got as far as the first mission on Titan and I have to say, this is definitely a massive improvement over the first game. Love the look/feel of the weapons so far, everything feels punchy in that classic Bungie way. SMGs are a great addition. Shotguns feel truly powerful and are a favorite so far in the heavy slot. One of the early models you get had some great sound design, almost like an M1 Garand style "ding" - super satisfying.

A lot of the graphic/visual improvements are stellar. Elemental effects and explosions look better than ever and the physics feel really weighty and on point.

The fucking soundtrack. Just...that is all. Fantastic. Marty was great, but he's not missed here.

I don't see myself getting in to PVP until the PC version, but I'm happy playing through the campaign and grinding a bit of PVE on a Warlock in the mean time. I'll save my usual main, Hunter, for the PC campaign.

The memories were a really nice touch and great way to start everything off too. Seeing the first team I went through Trials with was awesome, since they're good friends now...and I ended up playing over 6000 games of Trials doing free "helpies" for much of late 2015/early 2016 so seeing where it all started was cool.

Although I quit Destiny/console gaming late last year, the clan I founded became "kind of a big deal" in the community, so seeing that clan list and the way it's grown since I left was pretty awesome. Will look to play with some of the lads before I leave them again next month.

Well done, Bungie.

I also know this feeling, because I haven't slept much the last couple days and I always see Nami's party chat listed lol.
This is why I'm on his raid team. I pay tribute, by having all my luck to get good raid drops given to him.

Prove yourself worthy! The Leviathan Raid goes live TODAY at 10AM Pacific Time. Gather your Fireteam. Treasure and opportunity await you.
Teaser in link.

I'm trying my best not to rush it, but I want to be done with the campaign so I can get into the meat of the grind lol. Very weird because I hate grinding typically. D1 had the best grind in any game i've ever played.

D2 is even better. Gives you loot every time you blink.

Damn, they all look good already. Also holy crap sir.

I think Tarnished Copper is my favorite shader so far. I love the way it looks on some models, like another of my true loves here

:D np!

Mine too, except I wish it didn't have that sea green color in it.

Ditto. I think it was supposed to be the color of Patina on copper. But it just doesn't look right. I would have liked to see some bump mapping and the effects to make it look like aging copper. Still my favourite though.

I don't like. World First in raids can literally create a living as a Destiny streamer. So it's not just bragging rights.

Does it though?

I mean it's great publicity, but I see it as more of a huge, temporary boost if anything. People do huge things on streams all the time. They never get anything from it unless they were already streaming and asking for donations to begin with.

The girl who got to the end of PT didn't get shit and that was huge.

Kinda cool imo.
Nope, it cheapens the whole thing if some folks are getting tipped off.

If they insist that folks blow through the content of their game to be "Raid Ready" in a week and a half to go into the raid blind, then they should at least keep the race fair. Tipping the scales is decidedly unfair to those who legit grinded their character and went into the raid blind as a bat.

I'm guessing it'll be easy to hit "max" with the base content, but over time the progression will get relatively slow. I'm not opposed to this.

One thing I really want to return is exclusive purple drops from strike bosses. I stopped playing after TTK but they had some sweet gear drop from those strikes.

Going by the leveling guide people link in here it says at 259 it's time to start turning in tokens to the people on the different planets to at least get to 264...I'm 261 now so safe to do that?

I'm a big fan of looter shooters with recently getting into Warframe after Boaderlands. I never did play Desinty tho. So I'm on the fence and still waiting patiently for the reviews to complete so I can make finally decide.

I watched this. I'm sorry I did now ☹️

In case “everything is too easy” is your actual concern:

- Post campaign you can run Heroic versions of the story missions as “Memories” with special rewards.
- There is a weekly Nightfall Strike with rotating elemental modifiers which requires a more tactical approach (you need to cover different elements or you won’t be effective as a team)
- For even additional difficulty, there is a Prestige Nightfall with higher level enemies
- The endgame-difficulty activity, the Raid, comes out today.
- There will also be a Prestige difficulty level for the Raid
- Public Events have special hidden objectives which proc a Heroic event of higher difficulty (still easy as a team, but can be tricky if solo)

It’s no Dark Souls, but there’s definitely some degree of challenge offered - it’s just not the default option for the campaign.

So, vendor weapons and blues are 280 now. Does it go beyond that or is it the cap?

Also, an engram from the gunsmith turned into a vigilance wing. Nice.

Good to know if you stay in the Heroic Fallen Glimmer event circle even when the timer runs out you can still get it to 100%. Found out last night when I was trying to solo that event.

Got lucky on some drops and got into the early 240s last night. Hopefully this weekend I hope to be close to 260 and run the Nightfall.

you should be running public events until you hit the blue softcap at 265. After that you start turning in stuff.

There are REALLY huge Destiny streamers that got there due to World First. And they're not particularly skilled players. Once you get the notoriety, you just have to not be completely boring and stream consistently, then you'll maintain enough viewership to make a living. I'm not saying you'll be rich off Twitch but you can make enough to not have to work.

Even if it's only a temporary boost, it directly translates to money in a players pocket. It didn't use to be that way for World Firsts.

so i just beat the game last night and lvl 20, what now? sorry if question been asked already ....this my first destiny game ....i wanna boost up for raid if possible
