Huh? What did I say? Did I screw up again? :(
Another movie called Mother?
It's a powerful word. It's where we are all from and its where some of us which to go back into. Mother contains the feeling of a warm pleasant place to die.
Another movie called Mother?
And literally (big spoiler)Movie spoilers:kind of how we have fucked up this world in a short amount of time
So apparently this movie's an allegory about climate change according to interviews by the director and Lawrence.
Is this true?
I just got back from seeing it, and I really don't know what to think. For the first 90 minutes, it was intriguing, suspenseful, and well acted. Then the last half hour hits, and....... I don't really have the words for what I witnessed during that time. I just know that when the movie ended, I was angry. It wasn't a bad film, and I'm glad I knew nothing going into it, but I never want to see it again. Those last 30 minutes felt unneeded, excessive, and still left too many unanswered questions while moving at a pace that is almost too much to comprehend. It reminded me more of The Neon Demon rather than Rosemary's Baby which many are comparing it to.
5.5/10
Okay that's very interesting then.Yes that and overpopulation, religion, etc. Lots of bible references
Rest assured, this is absolutely nothing like Rosemary's Baby.
I'm still not even sure how much or if I really liked it, but "Darren Aronofsky is extremely back on his bullshit" certainly sums it up.
I saw it tonight and... YUP. Does it ever.
I'm pretty sure I loved it, even though I'm not sure I could ever watch it again.
Mild Spoilers:once you get the bigger "meaning" then all the metaphors and such are actually pretty on-the-nose... especially one of the final moments.
This film kept me tense throughout. That's pretty rare.
Some folks are gonna hate it, though.![]()
Strange question...Strange question.
But of those who have seen it:
who of you LIKED this also LIKED Baby Driver?
who of you LIKED this DID NOT LIKE Baby Driver?

Looks good. I love Aronofsky, but I have only liked one, maybe two of Lawrence's performances. How was her acting in this?
A Horrible, Unpleasant, Infuriating Movie No One Should See
Been an Aronofsky homer since Pi, so I'm all in for his brand of chaos.
Bring it Aronofsky. I thought Noah was his only "bad" movie and even then it was an interesting visual package.
To me, her performance was great. Her, Bardem, Ed Harris, and Michelle Pfeiffer made the first half of the movie stand out before it takes a giant leap into the depths of hell.
100% huh? Shit I'll have to check this out
He's only done 1 regular drama lolWish Aronofsky would just do a regular drama again

That review is SUPER spoilerific and doesn't even dive into why.
Seriously... people need to avoid reading anything about this flick unless they have zero intention of ever seeing it.
Even reading reviews that don't have spoilers... they're still very spoilerific in the way they talk about it.
Go into it blind.
You know a flick is gonna be special when its garnering mostly positive reviews but you have a few that were just disgusted by it
I bit on this review out of curiosity and yeah...I mean, regardless of the context or quality of the film, some people are going to be upset no matter what at the big spoiler in that article.
I had a feeling this would be a film where people would "unintentionally" spoil stuff in their reviews so I decided to just do a blackout. It's quite liberating. Looking forward to experiencing it fresh tomorrow.
He's only done 1 regular drama lol
Wish Aronofsky would just do a regular drama again
When has he ever done anything regular.
The Eyes of My Mother, Black Swan, The Witch, Jacob's Ladder...that a good tonal/atmosphere primer for this?
Probably going to watch Rosemary's Baby tonight, never seen it beforehow do you leave out Rosemary's Baby from this list tho breh. or Repulsion too by the looks of it.
I'm sure it doesYeah, I mean... (big spoiler hint)That said...THAT bit is pretty fucked up, and people are going to go into this expecting a run-of-the-mill psychological horror movie, for the most part, not... that.
It makes perfect sense within the story, and Aronofsky is known for being on the nose with his metaphors and such. There's no ambiguity about what the film's about by that point.
Probably going to watch Rosemary's Baby tonight, never seen it before
