Black Widow was one of the more glaring omissions but I still can't shake the feeling these were all characters meant for the base roster who just weren't done in time.

The marketing for this game is so unintuitive.

Reveals didnt' come in pairs, we had an uneven number of characters going build-to-build.

Now the Season Pass will have 4 Marvel and 2 Capcom? Dafuq.

If the DLC characters were recorded around the same time as the base game then I doubt it. Laura would have been too busy with Lost Legacy. Especially since it's Ashly voicing Chun Li in Puzzle Fighter. Highly doubt they made a permanent decision to recast a character because she already voices someone else.

Sudden PR release with no trailer is pretty random, dawg. Even SFV at least got its DLC characters revealed at a stage event (PSX). It's par for the course for the game though.

Considering we knew they were in the works, that joke was bad to begin with and when I saw the poll go that way it was sad.

Since Black Widow isn't in Story Mode, I'd imagine that recording for her was done later. Plus the only other option for Black Widow, Vanessa Marshall (her EMH VA), is already voicing Gamora. But yeah, MvCI's base game & Puzzle Fighter probably overlapped with Lost Legacy for Laura.
