With 2-3 years left in the gen, can we honeslty expect TESO6 to be released?

When do you expect The Elder Scrolls Online 6 to be released?

It boggles my mind that Bethesda is most probably going to skip this gen to release The Elder Scrolls 6.

Its been 6 years after Skyrim and development for one of the highest selling games of all time has not started.

Skyrim popularised the open world Rpg trend we are seeing today and so many games have taken cues from it.

Its kind of maddening because had it been another vision hungry developer, Skyrim would have seen a sequel 3 to 4 years after Skyrim.

What do you guys think? Is Bethesda mishandling / deteriorating the Elder Scrolls franchise? Are you okay with Elder Scrolls skiping a gen?.
 
They would probably have to make The Elder Scrolls Online 2-5 first. So I'm going to say that no, TESO6 is not going to happen.
 
No, you can't. And bruh we been told you this. They brought it up like...the E3 2016. They've got two projects they want to do before we ever see TESO6.

Barring a massive change, I'd be surprised if we see the game in time for PS5's end at this rate. If Starfield is real and comes out next year, there's still one more project left to go.
 
You're going to get Skyrim "We Released This 8 Times Before" Edition and fucking like it.
 
No. They said they have 2 projects similar in size/scope to Fallout/TES that they are releasing before ES6. Say 6 years minimum and you're looking at maybe a 2024 release for ES6. Hell, it might not even make next gen
 
I bet it will come out this gen. My guess is that because Skyrim was such a huge success, that they wanted to wait until there were enough consoles out there to ensure to higher equal sales.

Fallout 3 sold ~5 million. Skyrim has sold ~24 million.

Fallout 4 sold sold 12 million on launch day - so i'm sure they are thinking the next elder scrolls has huge potential for sales if it launches at the correct time and quality.
 
Games take a long time to make besides there so many new and awesome rpgs like original sin 2 that are much better than whatever schlock Bethesda pumps out.
 
I'll wait for the Switch version in 2025

Honestly with how awful FO4 was, and how unmoddable without payment any new Bethesda open world game will be, should you even care? I certainly don't.

I'm already looking forward to the next Fallout honestly. They should have done another "New Vegas" type installment this gen but I doubt it will happen.
 
TES06 would make a very appealing Launch Day title.

(*crossing fingers, whispering*: please be set in Valenwood and Summerset.. please..)
 
Next year is the year of Starfield.

Starfield is Bethesda's 2018 game
This year they got 3 games to release and one standalone expasion, they are obviously keeping Starfield for next year-

So, TES6 in 2020 or 2021 if we are lucky.
Maybe the same year as Cyberpunk2077
Rematch of 2015.
 
Wouldn't be surprised if they rushed it out towards the end of the gen to take advantage of everyone having a PS4/Xb1 and then once next gen comes out release a version for that.

Their games always run like shit so it's not like they'd care if the game isn't finished and crashes/bugs out all the time. Just look at Skyrim on PS3 which was a mess and Fallout 4 where you could be at a solid 60fps one moment then 20fps the next.

Plus it seems tempting players into double dipping is all the rage now with Rockstar and Bungie doing it. Hell Bethesda might just be the worst for it with Skyrim last gen, Skyrim current gen, Skyrim Switch, Skyrim VR..

As much as I wand TES VI, I wouldn't mind seeing something new from BethSoft first.

Oh my wow.

Its definetly not releasing this gen then. I am not surprised, but I am fumming tbh. Bethesda hasnt release something with the scope of Skyrim for almost 7 years when you see the big picture.

With the release of Horizon / BOTW / The Witcher 3 they have a mountain of imense competition. Todd Howard doesn't even know where to begin, probably.

Over 100 Million user base towards the end of this generation seems like a missed opportunity. IMHO it will either release on PS4/One before the next gen is even out and then there will be a "4K-port" (similar to GTA5) or it will be crossgen with a heavily downgraded PS4/One-version.
 
I want it to be in Black Marsh... but damn I think we will not see it till at some point of next gen ( totally didn't think TESVI would skip a gen but it seems like it is :-( ).

You severely underestimate the hurdles they'll run through if they try to make a game with 6 skus, the cpu on the Xbox one alone would be hell on earth to work on unless the game was built on last gen which seems possible but not likely since it be insanely late in the gen.
