Phew. Thanks.

It's unfortunate that no games in the collection use the CX4 or S-DD1 because we'll possibly be locked out of Mega Man X2, Mega Man X3, and Street Fighter Alpha 2.
Fortunately, I can see Capcom making a Mega Man X collection for modern consoles now that the Mega Man Legacy Collection is done with and there was that rumor of a Street Fighter Collection coming so all bases should be covered.
Thanks!
It's called different things in Europe and USA. Thread title is correct for Europe. The thread title should probably read "SNES Classic Edition" instead of "SNES Mini Classic" to reflect the product as well

I'm not going to release it but I sure did.
Is it possible to repurpose the NES one with the right foam inserts?I want an RDS Industries carrying case for this thing but I can't find any evidence that one exists or is being made.
The Switch and NES Classic cases they made are great.

I agree. we should just lock this thread and create a new one
I thought about making it after the preorder thread, but then I saw it was claimed. Was curious where they found the image.
Google Image Searching "super nintendo classic edition box" gave it as the third result on a page that clearly labels it "A fan-make mockup of what the SNES Classic Edition box could look like" lol
Where's gonna be the best bet regarding lining up tomorrow night for this, without a pre-order? Will Gamestop have a surplus beyond the pre-orders?

So this is just a Rom dump, noone has hacked or added new roms yet, right?
I am surprised Nintendo did nothing to block people from hacking this console after what happened to the Nes Classic.
Putting an usb port without the data lines would have been enough for 99% of people.
I guess they consider it's not worth it, or they prefer the system to be easy to repair in case of corruption.
WHEN IS AMAZON GOING TO CHANGE THAT TEXT
Can anyone tell me how big the box is? Or post a pic?
Mine has been delivered to my address in Ireland so I'm wondering whether it'd be fair to have my family put it in their bags and courier it across the atlantic to me or it could be next year before I get it.
The stock 4:3 mode actually looks better than I was expecting. I'm still going to try out the CRT filter, but it may not be necessary.
4:3 does look pretty good. I haven't noticed any bad artifacting on my end.
The CRT effect is cleaner than the NES classic version. It looks like a basic scanline filter but a bit softer.
EU box is 22.5 x 16.5 x 7.5 cm
Pretty compact.

I'll probably end up just using the hack program to turn it into a strict scanline filter anyway. I use scanline-only filter on my retropi and think it looks better than either no scanlines or more "complete" crt filters.
When people talk about adding games to this and the NES Classic do they get their own entries in the built in menu and everything? Are they able to add boxart and such?
Yup, it ends up looking totally legit, as if the added games were part of the stock product.

I really wish Chrono Trigger was included! That's the only bummer.
Edit:
What's the best way to play Chrono Trigger today?
confirmedis the famicom mini going to be reprinted?
is eBay the best place to get the super famicom mini and is the famicom mini going to be reprinted?

III for EuropeWhich version of FF is on this? VI? Or III?
Which version of FF is on this? VI? Or III?
The DS version is considered to be a pretty definitive version of the game, but there's also a port of the exact SNES original on the Wii Virtual Console if you want to play on your TV.

It's been confirmed we can add games to the SNES classic?
Can't wait to add the fan translations of the SNES remakes of DQI-III.
