I'm absolutely loving this little thing

Are there any pictures of the console as it relates to someone's hand size? It looks really small. I saw GameXplain had an unboxing video but I didn't want to watch that because I want to unbox it myself and smell the glorious plastic.

well if that's of any help here's a comparison shot I did with an original European SNES hardware and a banana:

Is there any chance we will get OT's for any of the games? I'll be playing FF6 for the first time and would like to be able to chat about it.

As much as I love the SNES original (still have my cartridge), I think the GBA version is the best one to play for the first time despite the inferior audio. PS1 release wouldn't be so bad if not for the long load times.

Amazon.co.uk got sent

It’ll take until the 13th but it actually got sent to the US so I’m happy about that.

I know everyone is excited about using the tool to put in the games they feel are missing, but can you remove some of the default games?(I didn't get the NES)

There's some of the 21 I want to pull off immediately because they're bad

Yes, you can.

I'll actually be replacing Super Mario World with Super Mario All-Stars + World, for one thing.

On the NES I took off Punch-Out and added Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, as well as taking off the two seperate Donkey Kong games and putting Donkey Kong Classics on.

I was thinking of doing that, but I think I'll use the standalone All-Stars instead since my SNES Super Set came with two separate carts.

Unfortunately that's not an option. As a European I wasn't allowed to play it the first time around so looking forward to a console experience as close as possible to the original.

Same here for that one. Would love an OT for FFVI.

I wonder would anyone be willing and, if so, would the mods be cool with it.

Made a couple of OTs for when games hit VC..

Super Mario Kart
Super Metroid
Super Mario World (the images in this one broke, lol)

I'll certainly have a look thru the Super Metroid thread, thanks. Never played that one either. Seems like a dense game, much like FF6.

Set it up in the office, all I've played so far is one SFII Turbo match and more than half an hour of CV IV.

This is sooo good! Hitting reset during a game you can access the console menu where you can save snapshots, change options or launch a new game. Everything is fast and snappy. I love this thing!

As far as options are concerned, I've chosen the ghetto TV speakers background and original appearance. 4:3 and original size aren't doing anything for me.

Really tempted to get an 8Bitdo gamepad with a receiver for the S/NES Classics... but, damn, it's kinda expensive. €35 for the gamepad, €25 for the receiver.

I won't be bothered by the length of the cables (I'm playing on my desktop, alongside my PC and consoles), so I just want it for the easy access to the Home menu. Maybe I just get a Classic Controller for Wii and be done with it... or maybe I just reach to the console and hit Reset :P

If you are concerned about price/value I would order the SNES Pro with the analog sticks that is coming out in December. Its more expensive but its full real analogs (unlike the NES30 Pro) makes it a fully functional controller for modern systems too. That or pick up the NES30 Pro that is currently available.

They are all compatible with the Switch too so whether you wait and get that one or the current non analog form that is more true to the original it can function as a primary/second controller on Switch/Wii U/PC.

Quick question, can this still be powered directly from the USB cable? I’m in the UK so we don’t get a mains adaptor included, and my NES mini can be powered by plugging it into a USB port on my TV. Is this still the case?

Wait, are the US snes classic x and y buttons not concave?! I mean, not a big deal at all, but if you're going for authenticity, that's a pretty big one for snes players.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was wrong, the are.

My Argos order got sent yesterday, it's a bit late for it to arrive today though.

Boy, am I grateful to the GAFfer who did the heads-up thread for that one.

It might be just me, but seeing your avatar then that picture. The SNES looks like Knack's face.

I can't help but see sad clown when I see non-US SNES, especially when it's upside down.

I really want to try and get one of these tomorrow, as I’d rather not wait until next week for my Wal-Mart pre-order to arrive (which in itself I’m still skeptical about).

How good do you think my odds are if I walk into a Target or Best Buy in the afternoon? I work until 2:00pm, have an appointment at 3:00pm, so I was hoping to use that time to stop at a Target along the way. Or is it absolutely prudent to stop first thing in the morning when the stores open? If that’s the case I could try to have someone pick one up for me, but I wanted your opinion on whether that was necessary or not.

And what are the sites people are using to check stock allocation again? If a store has something like 80+, then I can wait until the afternoon?

Of all the Walmarts around me, the highest stocked one only has 47 units. May be tough to walk in there at midnight and snag one. I wish I could see Best Buy numbers for my local Best Buy. I can only go to Walmart at midnight tonight and Best Buy at open tomorrow. Unfortunately, I can't do Target at open. It's a shame because the closest Target to me has over 60 units. I'm hoping Best Buy has more.

My plan is to hit up my local target at 8am (when they open), and failing that, my local best buy when they open at 10am. I don't think i want this thing enough to put more effort into it than that.
