This is the same thing as that sexist tweet. Rather than listening to people who have a problem with him or his statements, he just doubles down harder and claims that you're blowing things out of proportion.

My dude, what is the appropriate level of response for denying the reality of a whole group of people?

Over the next nine years, I have front row seats to a white exodus from Johns Creek, a suburb located 25miles outside of Atlanta. The majority of these white families do not relocate closer to Atlanta or to jobs elsewhere in the metro area. They move across a newly expanded four-lane road to the adjacent northern county, Forsyth, a stone’s throw from their former domiciles.

I ask our neighbors, point blank, why they are moving.

Nora’s good at math. There are too many kids here good at math. They’re affecting her self-esteem.

Asian parents take their kids for extra tutoring. It’s not fair for the “regular” kids.

The high school is too competitive. My kids won’t get into a good college because of all of the Asians.

I want my children to grow up in the real world. This is not the real world.

yes, colin, i am fully aware that your opinion is an opinion - it's an opinion based on faulty assumptions, disingenuous framing, and a complete lack of historical context and understanding

He took his very basic grasp on history and turned it into being right about everything. Only when you peel it back, you realize it's still only a very basic grasp, and nothing more. But since he was in a room with people that never studied history (totally guessing), they'd sit in silence and that silence would confirm his superiority.

For this, clearly we're all just faux outraged, we can't actually find fault in things he says!

Colin keeps saying that the tweets lack context and the article that he was responding to. But I don't see him posting said article at all in the 14 or so posts he's made in that subreddit.
 
Moriarty is also a snowflake asshole too. In a way, I was enjoying his CLS channel, until he started shitting it up with his Libertarian/Conservative bias. The biggest and easiest example is when he both-sides'd Charlottesville. Big fucking no-no there.

But ok, I kept watching thinking the fucker he would actually go back to -ya know- history. The purpose of the channel, and unbiased perspective like he did with his North Korea feature.

He then did a feature on "is Bernie Sanders good for America". And if you know me, I'm not shy about my Defense of Sanders. The whole thing reeked of the "DONT TREAD ON ME!" And "VENEZUELA!" And "HES NOT A DEMOCRAT!" and "SOCIALISM!" conservative talking point tripe.

Ok fine. But at the end of the video he says "I wanna reach out to the Sanders supporters watching! Tell me what you think of the video! This suuuure is going to be a divisive video!"

So I did. On Twitter.

Of course even worse is that it has been quantified statistically, and those statistics show a major problem. Part of statistics though is analysis, which most are pretty bad at.

This dudes entire tactic is to bait out a response, act like a smug asshole, cry about not being able to have a proper debate about the topic, then fall back to his fans and supporters for comfort when someone calmly challenges his words. And then run away while believing that he won some sort of moral high ground.

The little I know from his gaming content lead me to believe he was an ignorant douche.

There's a human being out there that said if his opponent wins he'll double the donation. Where the only people who will decide if he won or not is Colin's audience.

Seems fair.

Plus why would anyone actively subject themselves to his views? I'd be running the other way. Or take him up on the ticket and them bomb around for a few days.

White privilege exists, what us (East) Asian-Americans disprove for the most is the idea that it is so overpowering that it is impossible for minorities to succeed in large numbers. I've seen too many other people blame all their life's failures on white "pipo" and refuse to take any personal responsibility for their fuckups. It also sorta kills the idea that white skin is an instant win in life.

White people definitely have a step up in life and trying to beat that is not easy. My parents told me straight up as a kid that I would have to be twice as good as a white job applicant to get the same job, guess that is our version of "the talk." The "tiger" parenting stuff sorta works, but is not healthy and thankfully newer generation of asian parents are easing up on that bs. It is also dishonest to compare us to other minorities, many come to the US with advanced degrees so it's not shocking that they have a better chance to do well. We're seeing the same with recent African immigrants to the US, they are also coming over with advanced degrees and a healthy respect for education and they are even killing us Asians in terms of education and household income.

I'm cool with people being confident, but it's never a bad thing to accept that you're wrong or have false information. He's always so adamant that he's right. It's annoying.

I know you already got mad and refused to discuss this anymore, but look. You live in a world where a large subset of people with disposable income will throw cash at anything that conforms to their worldview. The more controversy someone can kick up, the more attention they get, the more viable they become to those who hold actual real platforms who exploit the first group for money and power. We've seen it with Milo (who just got a couple million despite lighting himself on fire publicly). We've seen it with Toni Lahren. We've seen it with Alex Jones. Hannity. Tucker Carlson. How many empty-headed evil millionaires do we want to actively contribute to creating?

Colin is currently small potatoes. He has the opportunity to become the next far right darling. We're helping with that right now. We're like the focus testing group that helps show how viable he is.
 
This is straight out of the /pol/ playbook. Find some outlier and use it to subvert the entire conversation. As if this kind of "positive" racism wouldn't lead to negative outcomes for both Asian Americans and other minorities. Stereotypes are harmful, even if they're "good". As if this invalidates the existence of white supremacy. As if there are no racist white people that hate asians. I've heard every slur under the sun hurled at asian Americans in Alabama. They're absolutely not exempt from white supremacy. What a fucking joke this guy is. Fuck anyone who gives him the time of day now
