You could have saved face with a quick google search man. I mean they establish some good reasons why Peter would have a crush on Liz.

1. She is popular, Peter is not.
2. Liz is part of the debate club, and shares that with Peter. They spend a lot of time together from this and clearly have some sort of bond from being on the same team. Thus Liz at least likes Peter for who he is
3. They establish that Liz likes Spiderman from the marry/fuck/kill game.

Nah, he was talking about both depictions of spider-man "Amazing Spidey" and "Original Spidey" so he was stanning for the action in both ASM movies.

Yeah, I agree. I thought for a really simple little scene, it provided a really concise, elegant little setup for Toomes. More than anything else, it handled his motivation quickly and painlessly, which is something comic book movies in general struggle desperately at.

You never had a high school crush? They're clearly not intended to be depicted as soulmates or something. The romance aspect of the film is nowhere near as prevalent as the other Spider-Man movies.

If she were white, you know he wouldn't have mentioned her race. He makes her race a big point, even if it's never pointed out in the movie and not a big deal her father is a white guy (although, the movie might have betted on the audience not expecting her to be the daughter of a white man in order for the twist to work).

It's a descriptive because it's one of the most obvious things about her, considering it's actually a plot point in the film.

Never mind the fact that there's nothing wrong with an attractive girl also being smart in general.
 
Y'all, put your fucking phone down and watch the movie. Everytime a movie comes out on video, the dumbest takes trickle out. Nothing wrong with disliking the movie. There is something wrong with showing your ass cause things that are clearly explained in the film sail over your head.
 
I love how they revealed MJ in this, and although I'm Nostalgic for the red hair, I won't complain

, no seriously, the dynamic they seem to have set up with the two of them is so fun. It's adorable. Seriously though I didn't even make the connection til the end and I'm glad it didn't get spoiled for me.

BTW, any suggestions, should I get the Blu-ray when it comes out, or grab it when "Phase 3" collectors edition comes out? I never got any of the previous phases, sadly.

There are plenty of other descriptors for her that don't put her bring mixed race first. I'll admit we pounced on something that was more just shitty posting than overt racism but it just proves the point that he wasn't paying attention to the movie.

If you can't remember the name of a main character in a movie maybe don't try to critique shit you clearly don't understand or weren't paying attention to.

I remember seeing Mr and Mrs Smith in the theater and there was this girl in a group of teens sitting in front of us who was staring at her phone for most of the movie. At some point she started complaining to her friends that it was all too confusing and she didn't understand what was going on.

That might be the easiest, most straightforward movie to follow in the history of cinema. Both of them are assassins though neither knows about the other and they have to take each other out for some reason. Then they fight for like the next hour. That's it. That's all the setup there is and all that you need to know. It's all in the trailer so you can walk in 15 minutes late and be fine.
 
Just saw this and uhm



BEST SPIDERMAN MOVIE by a country mile.

FYI, I loved the previous two spiderman films and was so upset they changed the actor (I still think he was better than the current one) However this move was made so well. Gosh. Good job marvel and incredible directing and writing.
 
Yeah, just saw it. A very charming little movie. I really enjoyed it, a top 3 MCU film for me alongside First Avenger and Civil War. Which isn't necessarily saying much as far as I'm concerned since I don't hold the MCU in high regard but I genuinely had a really good time with this one. I was bothered by the omnipresent Avengers thirst for a while but I was pleased with how that storyline ended. It was just a phase for Peter I guess and that's fine. Very funny and endearing film.

My only (minor) gripes with the film:
- Flash. I get what they were going for but it just didn't work imo.
- The action. Fairly mediocre and I was on the verge of yawning during the final battle.
- The Tony and Pepper proposal was super random and didn't belong in this film. Pepper was never even introduced.

But I'm super happy with Homecoming overall, Holland was great and I look forward to the sequel. Hopefully they'll call it Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

Spidey 2 > 1 > Homecoming (it's almost a tie with 1) >>> Amazing >>>>> 3 >>>>>>>>>> Amazing 2

And my superhero top for the year so far:
WW > Homecoming > Logan > Lego Batman > Guardians 2
 
I did find it kind of weird that Liz agreed to go out with Peter since she's, you know, gorgeous and smart and popular and rich, while Peter's a weird, awkward, flaky dude. Like, I buy her being nice and wanting him to come hang out and all, but... eh. Guess he's cute?

Of course his immediately blowing that golden opportunity and inadvertently ruining her life that same night is kind of the definition of "Parker Luck" so, it worked out in the end.

This movie was made for teenagers it was not for me, lame comedie, lame villain AGAIN , they butchered characters like Shocker, that Flash xD, dick peter dick peter !!! what the fuck was that ? Jokes for 10 years old kids?

Spiderman 1 and 2 raised the bar so much that now everything they do seems lame.

Spiderman 2 > Spiderman 1 > spiderman 3 > Homecoming >>>>>>>>>> the other 2 turds they made

I want to see him swing around new york buildings not fucking running on parks and beachs and backyards ffs did they blew the budget on the ship or something?

It was weird some decisions, the only good thing is he is in Avengers...

Just watched this. Hated Ned, holds the idiot ball for dear life the entire first half of the film. The action didn't have any real weight to it... just general MCU action. Its a shame they haven't really figured out how to do really impactful action scenes outside of Winter Soldier and somewhat both Avengers.

Seemed to go from set piece to set piece, didn't really feel like the film came together as one solid movie.

I loved that shit in the movie

The other two deleted scenes is one with Davis calling Miles and showing Damage Control still cleaning from WS
 
Homecoming is probably my favorite MCU film - great characters, great humor, great color, great villain, great costumes. However, I 100% agree that the action is disappointing and a big step down from 1-3. It's amazing how old those Raimi films are, and MCU still can't compete when it comes to action.

Civil War and Winter Soldier are the only MCU with legitimately "good" action, IMO.
