I'd make them the last choice. As other people in Florida said, a bunch of stores apparently didn't get any shipment at all.

Target seems the most stocked in general, but according to brickseek only a few Florida Targets have any as well.

Almost all of the Targets showed stock initially but they blocked stock, so only one shows it now. Might just be an issue with them blocking out stock numbers

In Reggie I trust. This will not be like the NES Classic shit show of 2016. I’m not lining up for this or waking early. Gonna wait this one out. More shipments will arive and will have my SNES Classic.

Praise be to Reggie. 🙏

My local Walmart said they have like 15 people in line. Should I go wait for three hours? Like, I want one of these real bad but also have very little time for videogames as of late and I’m not sure how much I’d use it.

Are they actually going to be “readily available” later?

Just like the NES Classic...

Wait

I get Nintendo never meet demand but at least with NES classic they admitted they weren’t expecting it to be that popular. At least they acknowledged the SNES classic would have a much bigger supply. Plus they started re manufacturing nes classics

I really hope so. Would love to get a mint one

Really cannot believe people are lining up for this. The system will be readily available shortly.

While I'm inclined to believe that people are overreacting because of how limited the NES was, and that the system will see regular restocks going forward, unfortunately I need one more of these to give out as wedding gifts to a couple people in the next few weeks.

I'd check brickseek for target inventory numbers
Or wait until 3 am EST to see if stores put it online, like best buy, target, toys r us etc

Reading all of these posts about store (blank) has X # of systems available has me thinking, how did people manage the SNES launch back in 1991 with no internet lol

Got my tracking from Best Buy! Estimated delivery is tomorroooooow!!

Dude at Walmart just walked by and told people in line we couldn’t sit on the ground because management will think we have a medical issue, and we can’t sit in chairs.

It’s getting real over here!

Uh, what if your medical issue is that you can't stand for long periods of time?

Nintendo had stock readily available, and I'm not sure most kids actually knew of the specific "launch date," per se. Like most things back then, it was probably when they happened to run across it in a store. To use Super Mario Bros. 2 on NES as an example, there were rumors that it was out, that people had it or played it, but it took a little bit before I actually saw one in a store and believed it really, truly was out.

No kidding. It must of been hell being our parents back in the day lol

still remember so vividly running into Toys R Us when i was a boy and yanking the little paper slip for SMB3 out of the plastic pocket, then taking it to customer service to get my cart.

we had looked for months for that piece of fucking paper.

No kidding.
And with my birthday being ~2 weeks before Christmas, it must have been fun.

My mother allegedly fought off another mom over a N64.

Fortunately I was old enough to work and buy myself an N64 on launch day - and had internet around then to help with matters as well.

You'll find the 1st statement wasn't any more true then than it is now.
Plenty of people doing the "Nintendo is cutting supplies to fake demand" even back into the 1980s.

And, for the 2nd statement - you didn't have a Nintendo Power subscription?

You call and ask. Or go in and ask. Some employees don't really have any clue though so its hit and miss.

WalMart here won't sell till 5am. And they're 24 hour. Go fig eh?

That's what they said at my Walmart, except 7am, but then people looked like they were about to riot and they decided to give them out at midnight. Got my ticket but at this rate I'm not gonna feel good until it's in my hand.

I was old enough to buy my own N64 but had given up trying to find one in the Fall of 1996. My mom was at TRU on Christmas Eve buying stuff for last minute charity donations and they got a shipment of them in, so she got it and surprised me with it Christmas morning. I had zero idea it was coming.

2. I did, and good point. But kids couldn't just get things at launch back then. They had to save up for it or wait for birthday/Christmas, etc. It was a different world.

I should go to the walmart near here and wait around until midnight.

Last time I did that was for when Ground Zeroes released ._.'

Still salty that the original pre-order I had got canned because Walmart had the system error.

Yep. Waiting with a ticket right now for a midnight release. After the debacle of the NES Classic, I decided just to hang out for 3 hours. I was going home but said "screw it, I am just going to pick this up and be done with it".

I do not believe Reggie.

Does Wal Mart use the slowest shipping service possible?

Mine shipped today and finally got tracking info and it only went form Oct 5th to Oct 4th lol

Come to think it, I never asked my parents if there was a story behind my N64 from Christmas morning 1996.....

Showed up at 9:30 at Walmart. 24 in line of 34. About 10:05 all accounted for. My brother is now pissed cause he might need to sit in front of a store like target. Or he can wait until 10/14 and I can sell him my Amazon UK order that is on the way at cost.

He was coming here right after work which would have been like 10:15-10:20 but he's not getting one at this Walmart.
