Exact quote.

It's amazing that I can remember even the most pointless thing from 21 years ago, yet I have no idea what I had for dinner last night.

The last time I played Starfox (or Starwing, as it was back in my day) was on my SNES circa 1999. I'm looking forward to introducing my son to it when he's older (he's barely 1.5yo right now).

I never managed to snag a NES classic but grabbed one of these babies this morning. It's so small!

Also, holy cow, what a list of games. So many of these are legit all-time greats.

In line at GameStop now! That is, a different GameStop than I got my preorder a month ago at.

Getting my second unit now.

People greatly exaggerated how difficult getting one is.

At the target near my house, Brickseek says they have 90 in stock and I'm about 25th in line.

So we'll see. If they start handing out tickets and I get one I'll tell work I'm taking a half day and work the afternoon.

If not I'll just come in to work a bit late.

How's the progress on getting more games on this baby? Anyone know if it's stable yet? I know the SF2 ROM dump is already underway.

Wal-Mart in GP, TX has plenty. Feel bad for the employees because a guy nerd raged and threw a chair when they said they sold out at midnight and they *might have stock in the morning.

Came back after the gym to snag one.

I'm amazed that my nearby GameStop only had 2 people waiting when got here at 730. Drove past target and best buy and they both had huge lines. Only an hour and a half to go

Never going to a launch event at the Bronx terminal best buy again. They didn't have any control of the line, a bunch of people skipped, and they didn't give out tickets until 8:45. I got here at 6:50 and was about 30th in line, yet the ticket I received was 112.

Not the greatest first impression.

Ive only tried Super ghouls'n'ghosts, but there times when the game slows down massively when there's a lot of action on screen.

The cables are also really short. I'm going to have to find a solution that doesn't have me Sat a couple of feet from my 50 inch TV.

I think it depends on where you live, SoCal has been a nightmare for everywhere I have gone to be turned away and told they are sold out already by people waiting who already have tickets...

Yea, that's Super Ghouls N Ghosts alright!

for better or worse, the slowdown is accurate to the original snes.

So perfect emulation is what you're saying lol.

Since mods are coming, I think I'm just going to hope that my Amazon.JP order comes through. They've been 2/2 this year so I don't have any reason to see why they wouldn't be. I can deal with Japanese menus if I can add the English roms. Not even sure I'll add anything else.

waited in line for 2 hours at target this morning and got one! I really didn't need to show up so early, as people walked up right at 8 and were able to snag one. They are sold out now though.

Lol. I didn't expect the slow down to cross over.

Will try again with different screen settings to see if it changes anything.

Also.. 10 year old me could get all the way to the pirate ship without breaking armour. 36 year old me can't even get gold armour. I'm amazed how good I used to be at this. This game is so hard.

Picked my preorder up this morning, having never seen the NES classic in person, I was shocked at just how small it is!

i'm a little worried gamestop might sell my pre-order, fingers crossed everything is fine when I get there. Have it paid in full and everything.

Yea, what some people don't remember is that several SNES games *did* have slowdowns/hiccups/etc.

I booted up both Super Mario World and Mega Man X last night on my original Super Nintendo, and yea when there's a lot of shit going on in the screen, both of those games take a hit.

Luckily I have a 12 ft HDMI cable so I plugged the SNES power cable into the outlet next to my couch and I'm probably set for the rest of the weekend.

It won't. Any games that had slowdown in the actual SNES release will have slowdown on this, and it is more or less intentional.

Grabbed one from Target in Peachtree City, Ga. They had a handful left in the electronic section and I overhead an employee say they have them up front as well.

This thing is awesome. Playing Mega Man X for the first time. Aftet all that pre order nonsense I didn't think I'd get one at launch. Looks like most of us are pretty lucky.

From what I read in this thread (?) the slowdown is a result of poor programming from the original release. Apparently a fan made fixed version exists.

Something about playing those games with proper controllers makes me giddy. So this should work on a modern tv right, unlike an actual snes?

As someone who logged literally thousands and thousands of hours playing SNES in the early '90s, I can state confidently that it's practically the same experience. It's wonderful.

Has anyone that ordered from Walmart on the 22nd had it ship yet? This is getting annoying.

I'm starting to think that any Walmart order that hasn't shipped yet (from 22 or 25) is probably backordered.

And I'm already at work so chances are everywhere will be sold out by the time I can try to find one in person. Whomp whomp.

So it's 930 AM where I live (outside of Cleveland) and the Best Buy I went to had no one waiting in line. I was like, uh... what the hell. Not even any cars in front of the store, workers park on the side. Very weird, so I went to the Walmart across the street and they were sold out. Back to Best Buy I guess.

Well, that was surprisingly painless.

There’s a Wal-Mart right next to my work so I went in early and arrived at the store about five minutes before they opened. I got a ticket and ended up being number 23 in line. (They got 31 units)

All told, I had my system within twenty minutes of arriving at the store, no muss, no fuss.

It was shockingly efficient.

Best Buy handed out tickets at 7am. That's why there's no line.

My Walmart isn't selling theirs until 8 MST, limiting it to one per customer.

I've got a SNES with all the games on the SNES classic, so I'm getting one for my son a Christmas present.

They might have given out tickets. My boyfriend was standing in line with a bunch of people and they gave them all tickets and said they had until 1pm to pick them up.
