Yea, what some people don't remember is that several SNES games *did* have slowdowns/hiccups/etc.

I booted up both Super Mario World and Mega Man X last night on my original Super Nintendo, and yea when there's a lot of shit going on in the screen, both of those games take a hit.

i wonder if they could have had a high performance mode that would remove slowdown, or if that would negatively effect some of the games.

Well my walmart.com preorder I made on 8/22 has now been charged to my cc so I assume that's a good sign. Did anyone who received the backorder email have their card charged?
I ordered 1 on each day that Walmart had it open, it looks like the one ordered on the 25th was backordered, but my card was just charged (pending) today. Not sure what that means. Maybe this charge was for my 22nd order as well.

Told my Amazon US order I placed back on Aug. 22 with original ship date changed to tentative will not be sent anytime soon due to stock issues but I am on the high priority list...has ANYONE who had a amazon US order received one?

In most games, it would probably be fine. In certain games, like Starfox the logic is based on the game running at the particular low frame rate.

Decided on a whim to try and grab one this morning. Walmart was sold out by the time I woke up ( 8:30a.m. ish ) but I called Target and they had 130 units. Most people in line already had 2-3 units :/ but I still managed to grab one with ease.

Even with the increase in stock it seems the excitement is nowhere as big as NES classic.

is it because xmas is so far out?

people are thinking its pointless to even try to get one ( how the NES classic launch was )?

or the gimmick of a smaller console is over?

yes, stores received more stock but I would have expected a LOT more people to be in line.

I'm in line right now at Target, it was a big line equal to the lines for the NES Classic lines last year. Manager came out and announced they got 120 units in, got a ticket for 72/73 so guaranteed to get one, way more stock than NES Mini day 1.

Some CS rep tell you this? I’ve received no update since placing the order.

I wouldn’t say it would negatively effect the games it would just be hard to call it accurate emulation at that point. Who knows of the effort of a high performance mode would be worth it! It very well could break some of the logic of certain games.

Some games benefit or are flatly designed around the slowdown that occurs from lots of on screen sprites— lots of shoot em ups in particular. The only game on this I can really think “god this slowdown benefits me” is Super G’nG.

On an entirely different note: anyone’s Walmart order that shipped yesterday actually show transit activity? Lol

Not sure how many my Best Buy had, but I was 7th in line this morning. That was around 5:30. Got my ticket at 7, ran across the street to Target and was 4th in line. They had 40. Got 2. My wife got another ticket from Best Buy at about 8. There is another line at Toys R Us that I probably could have gotten another one, but got all that I needed. Can't wait to get home and fire up Star Fox 2.

My Target had 73. I wasn't even planning on getting on today but my son called and said there were only 25 people in line, so I headed over and picked one up.

I wouldn't say that until we all get it. Lots of us have to work.

What are you talking about? There has been more hype and drama about this than there ever was about the NES Classic. Multiple rounds of pre-orders. Walmart cancelling. Wario64 being the Santa of videogamers. Multiple NeoGaf threads about it. People confirming that it's going to be moddable almost immediately. This thing is as popular as it gets.

Looks like I'm in the worst city in America for this shit

Every place I went by in Tampa was capped out on the line

Really frustrating that it is so hard to buy the fucking thing online

Dude I should have taken the day off I am not accomplishing anything. Door closed, barely answering emails lmao.

There's a work event this evening that I am attending because I really should.

I kinda wanted to be out at Target/BB early, but what are you gonna do? I have one coming, so the practical voice in my head told me to chill the F out.

Just decided to check out the local BestBuy across the street just for S&G, and got a ticket while waiting in line. Wasn't expecting that! Apparently this location got 200 in, and I'm number 108.

FairLakes shopping center in Fairfax, VA!

My bro-in-law gonna give me his GS preorder. Once he picks it up, I can take it. I'll give him an extra EU one as a trade if he wants it. Fuck Walmart.

Didn’t plan on it, but I figured I’d check out Best Buy down the street from my job. Fuckers cut through the bottom of the box probably when unloading, butvthe system was unscathed.

I can't wait until we can put new games onto this thing. I'm visiting my older brother next month and it would be wild to have all his favorites from back in the day like NBA Jam and that Ken Griffey Jr. baseball game.

Yeah, on release day with lots of stock. We may not see stock again for 3+ weeks and at what amount? 6, 9 11 units?

I walked up to the Target near my house 5 min after the store opened and got a NES classic. I guess that was a piece of cake to get right?

Just walked into Best Buy about 5 min after opening and by passed the 150ish people in line since I preordered. #feelsgoodman

Also picked up some extension cables.

I feel like this thread is full of people that waited in line for 12 hours, beat 6 people to death with a bat to get ahead in line, then decided to post about how easy it is to get one without any mention of where it was apparently so easy to get one

Even stores where it is "easy" to get one are sold out within 5 min
Basically everyone with a job (EDIT: that prevents them from getting in a line at 7am) has no chance of getting one today, hopefully it gets easier to get one in October before it becomes really impossible to get one
