welp all 100 at Mississauga heart land best buy seem to be gone. their opening up online orders at 12pm tho, don't know how long that will last but don't give up if your still searching!

Wal mart charge on my card for the aug 22nd order and still preparing. No charge for my aug 25th order and that one has shipped. Lol

How are the controller cords? I know they're longer this time, but the NES cords were for ants.

I'm not going to be able to unbox mine until tonight.

Lucked out! Got to my nearest Target an hour before opening and scored the second from the last ticket.

This store only received 45 systems which seems a bit less than a lot of the bigger Targets nearby.

Has anyone turned around on Ninty since it seems like they're going to be meeting demand, or was the protracted lead-up and lack of communication from retailers a permanent souring for some of you?

Personally, I've been fine with Nintendo throughout the years.

Nintendo is the most abusive, non communicative relationship I'll tolerate. Because they make good games.

My unit was delivered yesterday and i've been very happy with it but I just got to Donut Plains in Super Mario World and wow the music is off. I had to power up my original SNES to confirm but its like dropping some notes or something. Such an odd emulation quirk.

grabbed the second to last one at the Target on my way to work. 15 minutes after opening but luckily I still didn't have to wait in line. They must have had a fair amount.

Heh. Who's demand? People who can be at a store and get a ticket before they open? I think it is a little premature for that one. Wait a month or two! Initial stock levels look good though. Restock is where it matters though.

Well my walmart.com preorder I made on 8/22 has now been charged to my cc so I assume that's a good sign. Did anyone who received the backorder email have their card charged?

You said this, and I checked mine as well (fellow 08/22).

My card had been charged earlier this week, and it dropped off.
My card was charged again today.

I'd got in line last night at the supercenter receiving the most (as per the mentioned website) Said the store was getting 34. The guy at the counter claimed to have made an announcement 20 minutes before stating the number, but no-one heard the announcement, and we weren't being really all that loud. So there was a line of about 80 people, and 40-50 of us didn't get one. (I was trying to hedge my bet against the walmart.com nonsense.

People were understandably annoyed about not hearing the announcement. I'm wondering if he made the announcement but had a messed up phone, and it didn't actually broadcast over the whole store. I work walmart part-time, and I've definitely had that happen when making an announcement over the loudspeaker system...its kind of flaky. For the record, I was number 40, so I didn't get one last night.

Hoping walmart.com comes through for me.

I feel like this thread is full of people that waited in line for 12 hours, beat 6 people to death with a bat to get ahead in line, then decided to post about how easy it is to get one without any mention of where it was apparently so easy to get one

Even stores where it is "easy" to get one are sold out within 5 min
Basically everyone with a job has no chance of getting one today, hopefully it gets easier to get one in October before it becomes really impossible to get one

I have a 9 to 5 and kids. Woke up at 4 AM, went to Walmart, stood in line. Had one by 6 am. Then took the kids to school, headed to work, and now I am "working" (staring at my SNES/reading GAF).

The overall stock situation sucks but getting in line for 2 hours for a very popular product doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. And I live in the very populated Baltimore/DC metro area.

Got one in store since my online order got cancelled. Yes! I don't have to pretend this thing doesn't exist anymore like the nes classic.

I live in NYC and I went to Target at 7am (they open at 8am). Admittedly, I was 122/almost 200 so I guess some people were there at 6am but there was no need to IMO. Waited for an hour then walked in and got mine with no stress. It was very organized. Really no different than most console or game launches.

Everyone I talked to in line was going to work right after.

My morning:

8:00am - Take my kids to school.

8:15am - Stopped by Target - all tickets given out, all units sold.

8:25am - Stopped by Walmart - "we dun sold out at midnight."

8:35am - Stopped by GameStop - sign says 11 units in stock - 10 people in line. People letting thier buddies line jump. Still 1.5 hours to go. It's 60-something degrees out. I have shorts and flip-flops. Fuck this...

8:50am - Stop by Best Buy on the way home out of curiosity - guy out front still giving away tickets. I walk up - I get the last goddamn ticket. Holy moly. I have until 1:00pm to redeem.

8:55am - Stop by Burger King and grab breakfast.

9:00am - Get home and eat breakfast.

9:13am - Brag about my morning online.

9:17am - Masturb.......

These aren't going so fast. Still 10 left in Gamestop, Orangeburg, SC. Just grabbed my pre-order and heading home.

I really think they are going just as fast... but Nintendo seems to have gauged demand much better this time around.

will still be sold out for christmas.

Yea, what some people don't remember is that several SNES games *did* have slowdowns/hiccups/etc.

I booted up both Super Mario World and Mega Man X last night on my original Super Nintendo, and yea when there's a lot of shit going on in the screen, both of those games take a hit.

Wouldn't it have been a welcome QoL addition to fix that?

I mean...they added save states and rewinding, why not use the readily-available power to fix slowdown also?

ITS SO FLUF... TINY!!!!!!!

But maaaaaan the controller cable is still ridiculously small. Thought I'd get away with pulling the console closer but the TV cables are short too. Really poor Nintendo.

What the fuck is this thing that automatically deleting my locked suspend point saves?

Are you resuming by selecting the resume point or the games icon itself.

If the latter, you'll delete the suspend point cos the system is assuming you are resetting.

My new SNES collection, very tempted to get a Super Famicom Mini..:

no. it would suck. first, it would kill the feel of playing the original games. second, there are numerous articles out there of games that are greatly affected by "improved processing" emulation. There are a lot of games out there where the speed and bugs of the architectures where taken into consideration, worked around, and even WORKED WITHIN, on these games. The more the original architecture is "improved", the higher chance you run of breaking games which were programmed taking the architecture into account.

Walked into Best Buy in Houston about 8 mins after open. Still got a ticket, #124. Just gotta pick it up before noon. Guy.still had more tickets to hand out, so sounds like BB in Houston did in fact get quite a bit.

This is true. Initial numbers seem to be significantly higher than the NES Classic. I wad doubtful of Nintendo after that, but it seems they fulfilled the first part: making more units available for launch. Now lets see if they hold to the second part; making units available throughout the holidays.

Good luck to all those who are still looking.

Culver City, CA Best Buy and no one has emerged from the store to give out tickets yet. Really hoping they're not just making us wait until 10 to find out how many they have, but wouldn't be surprised after NES Classic launch at this location.

Around 75 people in line for LA Gaf

Got one! I went through a lot of trouble trying to get a preorder and failing so I knew I was going to have to put in some footwork in the end.

17 in a line of probably about 100. Only had to get to target at 6AM so not too bad. I hope for there is more stock this year so everyone that wants one can get one.

Getting good vibes on the lines here.

7:21am here in Portland and there’s only like 20-30 of us in line. Roommate wants one too now so I might run to Target if y’all are getting them with ease.

I'm in line in Santa Barbara and same shit. I thought it was a corporate announcement that they were handing them out at 7?

My local Walmart has 15 left. A friend is going to buy one for me now while I'm at work. Yus! Then I can return my think geek order.

Target I work at (knollwood,MN) Had 86 in. I came at 3 am to camp out. A guy came at around 4 and we chatted the rest of time. I had a blast. About 30 people in line when the store opened. Not sure how many are left.
