Seems that many of the boxes are slightly damaged on the edges :(

Walked into Target at 8:06, got a ticket no problem. Worst part was waiting in line 10 minutes to check out.

Yeah, there were 60 people in the line at my Target. They finally opened more registers to move the line along. I was surprised at the number of units (73) that my Target had.

Yeah, that's that authentic SNES experience right there.

Why would anyone trust a word that comes out of Reggie’s mouth?

Target. Sold out (missed out by 3 people)
Best Buy. Huge ass line. Naw.
WalMart. No chance.

So all I got is this Aug. 25th pre-order from WalMart. I have no confidence. :/

So it's 10:56AM ET and pretty much all of the Walmart stores around me are sold out. That's crazy. Demand for these things are going to be insane for the holidays. Good thing I have a pre-order to pick up later at GameStop.

Standing outside a mall GameStop hoping I have success. Sign on the window says they have 15 and I'm counting less than that in line.

Edit - I tried Target before work, but 45 minutes after they opened, and they were all sold out. Said they had 35 come in.

Edit - whoop, got one!

Target store pickup order that managed to get through last night was not fulfilled.

ThinkGeek order is processing.

talking with think geek chat rep:

Rusty: I'm sorry. It seems Logiscargo Express is listed at this address. Unfortunately we're unable to ship to any type of forwarding, courier, or repackaging service.
Rusty: This is why the order was declined when you tried to submit it.

For anyone in Seattle, Amazon’s Treasure Truck has reservable SNES Mini availability today. Just reserved mine ($79 or whatever).

Don’t know if Treasure Truck does multiple cities.

whatever did we do in the 90s......

Went round my friends house for the first time, went upstairs to see the new nintendo system....somehow when climbing the bunk bed i pulled the controller cord which yanked the system, it flew across the room and broke.
This caused the 3 older brothers who actually owned the snes to run upstairs and loose their minds.
Never since that day have i witnessed a nintendo console break in person and never again did i trip on any cords.

Should I bitch to Best Buy about this? Idk what they could do with them selling out, but I’m mad it’s got this huge slash through the box. It goes all the way through.

Does Brickseek actually stay up to date on whether or not a store has stock or should I just assume any place in NYC still listed as in-stock has sold out?

You can try Nintendo NY as they are limiting one per person for the entire year. At least that is what one worker said.

My Aug. 25th pre-order just shipped today. I'm supposed to get it on Oct.6-9. I think you'll get yours. My Aug. 22nd. pre-order is still pending, but I'm supposed to pick that one up in store on Oct. 4th.

Picked up my preorder at Gamestop in Greenville, SC about an hour ago. About 20 people there all together. Guy in front of me just missed the extra stock. Guy behind me was first on a list for restocks.

You should gift the brothers a mini if you're still in touch!!!

Picked one up at Target, there wasn't even a line half an hour after opening and there were still like 20 systems

As soon as Amazon or Walmart ship one for my bro, I'm going to try and cancel the other preorder

in the future is it likely we'll be able to use 4 controllers if, we get 4 player games on there? also for the HORI snes fighter commander, it's wireless, but i don't see any info on amazon about if you can use two of them at once, i didn't see any indication on the controller either and with a long wait time i kinda wanna find out for sure

actually are there any other controllers that work? what are the best controllers that are/can likely work in future?

I got mine from Walmart last night. Have to give credit to the local store for communication and organization. They had 32 units in stock according to Brickseek. I called in the afternoon yesterday and was told that they would pass out tickets at 10:30, and then we'd have to be back at 12:01 to pick up the system or they would be sold to someone else. There was a 1 per customer limit.

I got there at 8:15 and was 6th in line. Got my ticket at 10:30 and went home for a little bit. At 10:30 there were maybe 25 to 30 people in line. When I came back at 11:40 I was 5th in line. I overhead the clerk tell someone on the phone that all the tickets were gone. At 12:01 they started selling and I was out the door by 12:05. The whole process went smoothly and was much better than waking up at 4:30 like I did for the NES classic.

Can't wait to dive into Star Fox when I get home from work today.

So what's the "original" way to play the games? Pixel Perfect , 4:3 (or CRT)?

Pixel Perfect is definitely not the original way. The other two options are close, so pick whichever you like more. CRT is probably the most "authentic" but it's not for everyone. It's the look that most closely resembles playing a real SNES on an old CRT tv.

They do Treasure Truck in NYC but I'm signed up for text alerts and I haven't got any yet.

They didn't sell 8:9 TVs, did they. Everyone played these game at 4:3. There may be some pixel artifacting in 4:3 mode since it has to stretch certain pixels to work in 1280x720 resolution. There's no "perfect" way to play these except on a CRT, or wait until we get 8k TVs where the artifacting would be all but imperceptible.
